Is this comic artist insane?

After reading the latest episode of *Edgewalkers*, Yang Shuzhun found himself puzzled by Lin Qingshan's intentions. Mann, the third most popular character in the series, seemed to be facing a fate similar to Gloria and Pilar before him. Was Lin Qingshan really going to eliminate Mann in such a drastic manner?

Earlier character deaths, like those of David's mother Gloria and the team's tech specialist Pilar, were less impactful because these characters had limited roles and development. Their deaths were surprising but not deeply mourned by fans.

Mann, however, was different. Since his introduction at the end of Chapter 7, Mann had played a significant role throughout Chapter 21, evolving from someone who offered David a chance to join the team due to personal ties, to a reliable big brother figure, and a mature protector in various crises. His charisma and dedication to his teammates had earned him a special place in fans' hearts.

In the harsh world of Night City, where betrayal and self-interest reign, Mann's genuine care and humanity stood out. Unlike other Edgewalkers who would exploit any opportunity for their gain, Mann's protective nature and sense of loyalty made him beloved by fans.

Given Mann's significant role and popularity, his potential death felt as shocking as if a beloved character from another series, like Zoro from *One Piece* or Kakashi from *Naruto*, were to be suddenly killed off.

Yang Shuzhun wasn't sure if Lin Qingshan truly intended to kill off Mann. Could it be that Mann's apparent fate was just a dramatic conflict with David that would later be resolved? However, given the pattern of sudden deaths in *Edgewalkers*, this possibility seemed increasingly uncertain.

Fan reactions mirrored this confusion and frustration. Fan Feiwei, who had been following *Edgewalkers* for nearly a year, was deeply affected. Mann, a character cherished for his role as a mentor and protector, seemed destined for a tragic end as a cyberpsycho—an outcome considered the worst in the series' context.
