Chapter 51 - Broken Glass & Waiting Steel

The purple glow of an energy that practically ignored reality lit the hall as Poros phased through yet another door. The sublevel maintained the same clinical feel as above, but something still felt different to both experienced soldiers. His faceplate panned around the empty polished floors while scanning for threats.

"Clear. But stay alert."

Theia followed after the lock disengaged. Her gauntlets pulsed orange with contained chaos as her eyes looked for movement in the shadows. The corridor stretched ahead, maze-like and branching into multiple sealed chambers. Unblemished surfaces, untouched by decades of abandonment, reflected their lights.

The first room they checked on this floor held only empty workstations.

The second contained more large deactivated equipment that neither of them could identify.

The third made them pause and briefly report.
