CHAPTER 7
Alec turned and looked at him clearly,he didn't know when he stepped on the brake and stopped the car in the middle of the road.
"OH MY GOD"
Ryan who was thrown forward by the sudden brake cried out.He turns only to find Alec looking at him in awe.
"What's wrong?" Ryan asked.
Was there something on his face?,he quickly brings out his phone checked his face through the screen but his face was clean apart from the wound he had on his lower lips.
"Honk...Honk....peep...peep"
Cars starting horning, urging them to move.
Alec came to his senses and continued driving.
Still he couldn't stop looking at Ryan.
Ryan started feeling conscious of himself.
"Is something wrong?" He asked.
"No..no.. nothing at all" He turns and look at Ryan with all seriousness and said
"You're really beautiful"
Ryan was flabbergasted "-"
He got so red immediately "Thank you."
He quickly looks out the window.So...that was why he stopped the car suddenly,he thought and he couldn't stop smiling.
"You look so good both ways" Alec said.
"Huh?" Ryan said confused.
"I mean...when you let your hair down and when you tie it halfway"
"Oh... thanks,you look good too"Ryan said
And he wasn't lying,Alec was literally a walking temptation,he is so good looking that you can't get enough no matter how long you look at him
"Oh thank you" Alec said grinning from ear to ear.
Alec looked at him again and said " what happened to your lips?it wasn't like that when I dropped you off yesterday "
"Oh....." Ryan touched his lips " I bit myself while eating yesterday "
Alec looked at him weirdly,that really doesn't look like he injured himself but he didn't say anything,he just nodded.
The rest of the car ride was quiet but it wasn't awkward.
"You can drop me off here,my work place is just a block away" Ryan said.
"Oh....I'm also heading that way, I'll just drop you off "
"No...no..noo...you don't have to do that,I don't want to be a bother .It seems you're very busy" Ryan said.
"I'm not complaining tho,at times it's good to just accept and say thank you... receiving help doesn't make you a bad person you know" Alec said while looking at him.
Ryan thought he had offended Alec by refusing,he decided to apologize.
"I'm sorry.....Thank you"
"Hey.....you did nothing wrong, there's no need to feel sorry...okay?" Alec said.
Ryan just nodded and didn't say anything,he wasn't one to receive help especially from strangers.
When they got in front of the company Ryan came down.
"Thanks for the ride,I really appreciate it" Ryan said.
"You are welcome " Alec said smiling.
"Hey....Isn't that Ryan?" Thomas who was Ryan's coworker said while looking at Ryan coming down from a luxurious car.
Ronda looked ahead and saw Ryan
"Yes....." They kept looking at them till Ryan approached them.
"Ohhhh...Ryannnn...." Ronda called in a singing voice "Who was that?"
Ryan looked at her weirdly and just smiled
"A friend" he tucked his hair behind his ear.
Thomas kept on looking at Ryan "yaaaaaaa...you look so handsome,is it because your hair is let down?" He asked.
"Maybe" Ryan said while they walked into the elevator going to their floor.
Downstairs Alec drove towards the parking lot and alighted from the car when his secretary approached him with his suitcase and briefcase.
"Welcome boss" Joshua said. While leading Alec towards the special elevator.
"I went to your house to get the suit and briefcase." He continued.
"Thanks,I couldn't go home yesterday,I went to the nursing home to stay with Grandma after leaving the bar "Alec said.
"I'll need to arrange some clothes to be kept in the car for you just in case of next time"
"I'd love that" Alec answered.
"The director gave you a room to get ready" Joshua said after nodding.
"Let's go" Alec said.
They both came out of the elevator and entered a room.
Ryan got to his desk, carried the files needed for the meeting and headed for the meeting room with his colleagues.
The chief marketing officer (CMO),the media team and the editing team were already there.
As soon as they got in they all went to sit,the only sit available for the workers was the one close the the CMO.
Ryan isn't a fan of the CMO as the man is really creepy, especially to Ryan.But he has no choice left but to sit beside him.
Everyone greeted each other, out of courtesy Ryan turned and greeted the CMO.
"Oh ... good morning Ryan,I must say you look astonishing today" He said while touching Ryan's thigh.
Ryan moved a little away from him and the CMO removed his hand.
"Thanks sir" Ryan said while nodding at him.
The main door open and the Client they were expecting walked in,they stood up to greet the client when Ryan was dumbfounded.He still maintained his posture and bowed gently like the others did.
They were told that the Client was a big shot
and they needed to impress him in other for him to sign a contract with the company.
Alec nodded at them before taking a seat with his secretary,Ryan was trying his best to be invisible when the CMO called his name.
"Ryan...Ryan..Ryan Maxwell" the CMO called.
"Ye..yes sir" Ryan answered when his coworker touched him.
"The contract"
"Oh....oh..sorry" Ryan apologized while handing over the file to the CMO who passed it over to Alec.
Alec looked over and saw Ryan,he wasn't surprised because when he dropped him off he realized that he worked here,but it seems Ryan was surprised to see him.
The CMO started introducing everyone to Alec,after that he started talking about the contract and the benefits.
While all these were going on,Alec was stealing glances of Ryan and Ryan was doing the same,but it was so awkward.
"Signing a contract with us you'll. ....."
"I accept" Alec cuts the CMO off.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Did they hear right??? He is signing the contract even without hearing the whole story the CMO has rehearsed to say.
"Are...you .. serious??" The CMO stammers.
"I'll leave my project in your hands" Alec bows down.
The CMO bows lower than he did "We won't disappoint you CEO" he said.
"I'll give you a week to get the project script ready" Alec said while standing up.
A WEEK!!!!
Everyone was shocked,that was a short time.How is that going to be possible?
