"Mr. Barton, have you made a decision about this fruit?" Rosh asked, his tone both encouraging and confident. "It's an excellent choice, truly one of the standout options among the Zoan-type fruits."
Clint's intrigue grew at the endorsement, prompting Rosh to dive into the details of the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Falcon.
"As noted in the catalog, Zoan fruits grant users the physical strength and unique abilities of a specific animal. With the Falcon fruit, you'll gain flight, enhanced vision, and the ability to deliver lethal talon-like attacks," Rosh began, his explanation precise and professional.
"But that's not all," Rosh added with a reassuring smile. "You won't lose your sense of self when transformed. Unlike some fruits with more... primal instincts, this one allows you to retain full control of your mind, even in falcon form."
Clint nodded, processing the information. The assurance about keeping his sanity was a relief—one less thing to worry about. But another critical question lingered in his mind, one that could make or break his decision.
"Shopkeeper," Clint said, his tone serious, "will using the Falcon powers interfere with my skills? For example, can I still fight effectively or shoot while in falcon form?"
Rosh chuckled lightly, clearly anticipating the question. "You're overthinking it, Mr. Barton. Zoan fruits are unique in that they provide three distinct forms: human, hybrid, and full-beast. Each form offers its own benefits without compromising your abilities."
"In your human form, you'll remain exactly as you are now—no changes to your skills or appearance. The hybrid form, however, is where things get interesting. You'll gain falcon-like traits while keeping your human capabilities intact. This means you'll have wings for flight, sharper vision, and enhanced reflexes, all while retaining the ability to fight, strategize, and shoot your arrows with the same precision as before. It's the best of both worlds."
Clint's shoulders relaxed as a wave of relief washed over him. His biggest concern was the possibility of compromising his skillset, but Rosh's explanation erased all doubt. If anything, this fruit would amplify his strengths rather than detract from them.
As he mulled over the possibilities, excitement began to build. The more Clint thought about it, the more this fruit seemed like the perfect fit—offering a seamless blend of power, precision, and utility. It even surpassed the appeal of the Blast-Blast Fruit, which had been his top contender until now.
"Thanks for clarifying, Shopkeeper," Clint said, his tone more assured now. "This fruit... it's really starting to feel like it was made for me."
"Shopkeeper, can I try out the sample service?" Clint then asked, his voice serious but laced with curiosity.
Without hesitation, Rosh reached under the counter and produced a small piece of the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Falcon. Handing it over, he said, "Here you go. Just one bite is enough to awaken its powers."
Clint studied the strange fruit for a moment before taking a bite without a second thought. The taste was... indescribably bad, but he swallowed it down and handed the remainder back to Rosh. For a brief moment, nothing happened, and Clint began to wonder if he'd imagined the sensation. But then, something shifted.
A surge of energy coursed through him, filling him with a strange, exhilarating power. He could feel it—a latent ability ready to awaken at his command.
"This is incredible!" Barton exclaimed, his eyes widening with wonder. He flexed his hands and moved his shoulders, feeling something stirring within.
"So this is the power of a Devil Fruit?" he murmured, his voice tinged with awe.
With a single focused thought, he activated the fruit's power. His body began to shift and transform.
*Whoosh!*
In an instant, a pair of massive, powerful wings erupted from his back, their feathers sleek and shimmering in the light. His arms elongated into sharp talon-like claws, his face transformed into a falcon's keen beak, and his legs became stronger, built for both flight and combat. Feathers spread across his body, giving him a streamlined, agile form.
Clint marveled at his reflection in the shop's mirrored wall. The hybrid form felt alien but strangely intuitive. Testing the limits, Clint instinctively reached for his bow, which he always carried as an extension of himself. In one smooth, practiced motion, he nocked an arrow and took aim at a tree visible just outside the shop's door.
His transformed talon-like fingers held the string firmly and with a swift release—
*Thud!*
The arrow sailed through the air with stunning speed and accuracy, embedding itself deeply in the bark of the tree. Clint's sharp eyes locked onto the target, noticing the precision of the shot.
It wasn't just good—it was better. The alignment, the speed, and even the instinctive feel of the bow in his transformed hands were enhanced.
He stepped closer to the door, analyzing the shot with a mixture of curiosity and excitement. "That... was sharper than usual," he muttered to himself. It was subtle, but as someone who prided himself on mastery of the bow, he could tell. His aim had reached a level beyond even his own exacting standards.
Rosh observed from behind the counter with an approving smile. "The fruit's enhancements go beyond physical changes," he said. "Your senses and reflexes are also sharper now—almost as if they've been fine-tuned to match the precision of a falcon's."
Clint nodded, a grin spreading across his face. This wasn't just power—it was synergy. The fruit wasn't replacing his skill; it was elevating it.
"You're adapting quickly," Rosh observed with a pleased smile. "Most first-time users struggle to maintain balance, but you seem to be a natural. Once you practice more, you'll even be able to control partial transformations, like summoning just the wings while staying in your human form."
Clint nodded, absorbing the feedback. With another thought, he shifted back to his human form. The wings and talons receded, and the feathers disappeared, leaving him exactly as he was before.
As the transformation was completed, a wide grin spread across his face. The exhilaration of wielding such power was undeniable. "This fruit is amazing," he admitted, his tone filled with excitement. "I can see why these Devil Fruits are so sought after."
"Indeed," Rosh replied, his voice calm yet confident. "It seems you've found the perfect match. With practice, this power will become an extension of you, enhancing your skills without limitations."
"Shopkeeper, I'll take the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Falcon!" Clint declared, his voice brimming with confidence and excitement.
"An excellent choice, Mr. Barton," Rosh said with a nod of approval. "The price for the Falcon Model is 150 kilograms of gold."
Clint gave an understanding nod. "Understood. Please wait a moment."
With that, he stepped outside and returned a short while later, carrying several neatly stacked gold bars. Each bar gleamed under the shop's warm lights as Clint carefully transported them inside and placed them on the counter.
"Here's the payment, Shopkeeper. Please verify," Clint said courteously, his professional demeanor never wavering.
Rosh processed the transaction using his system. After confirming the total, Rosh waved his hand, and the gold disappeared into his storage space—a feat that left Clint quietly amazed.
"Here is your Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Falcon," Rosh said, presenting the fruit with both hands. Its unique swirling patterns shimmered faintly, almost as if it recognized its new owner.
Clint accepted the fruit with both hands, his grip firm but reverent. "Thank you, Shopkeeper," he said sincerely, his gratitude evident. Without a moment's hesitation, he took a decisive bite, the slightly bitter taste solidifying his transformation as he permanently unlocked the Falcon fruit's abilities.
Rosh watched with a knowing smile as Clint's expression shifted—surprise, exhilaration, and determination all flickered across his face.
After a brief but heartfelt farewell to Rosh, Clint stepped outside the shop, his heart racing with anticipation.
He glanced up at the sky and spread his newly acquired wings, the powerful appendages feeling like they had always been a part of him. He took off with a single mighty leap, soaring effortlessly into the air.
The wind rushed past him, carrying the triumphant grin that now stretched across his face.
From this moment on, he wasn't just Hawkeye, the legendary archer.
"From now on," Clint declared with a laugh as he cut through the clouds, "call me Falconman!"
