Avon slept well that night knowing he achieved in taking the first step successfully. The following day when he entered the academy he was greeted by a tall man. Just by looking at him one could tell that he was not a human...or at least a pure human because his skin seemed to be too gleamy and shiny.
"Mr Avon Starlight, since this is your first day at the Nebula academy, please let me help you get oriented to the functioning of the academy.
If you are from Steela you might know this still let me inform you, for becoming a citizen of Steela and for living in Steela it is a must for one to graduate at the Nebula academy. If is the only academy on the planet. The level from which you graduate will decide your starting point in the society in the planet.
The classes have already begun 3 months ago, so you have a lot to cover.
Please take this ID card. This already contains your timetable, exam dates , syllabus etc. please take a good look at it. The academy will contact you through the ID card only.
Now I will guide you towards your first class."
Then Avon who already pocketed his ID card followed the man .
'He didn't even tell his name ...'
The campus was very big with some very wierd machinery here and there. They entered the first building which was 4 floors tall. Then he was guided to a room on the second floor and then the man knocked the door of the room. "Come in" they heard a female voice say.
Then the man opened the door and cool air hit Avon 's face. It seemed like the room was well sir conditioned. Avon entered the room following after the man. Inside a woman with tentacles for legs was standing. She had black hair and looked middle-aged. The man went over to her and gave her a small chip. The woman then put the chip in her ID card and then nodded. The man left and the woman called Avon towards her. On his left there were students seated. The room wasn't too big. Seemed like it accomodates about 20 students.
'There must be more classrooms considering how literally the entire planet studies here...not only this entire planet plus aliens like me'
Thinking so Avon went towards the professor calling him and then she told him
"Hello Avon, I am Hilgs, your cultivation mentor. Please introduce yourself to the class and the class will introduce themselves to you."
"Ok ma'am"
Avon then turned towards the students seated and noticed that they were all looking at him with great curiosity as though he was some special specimen.
'Why're they looking at me like that...am I doing something wrong? But I still haven't done anything.....'
Getting anxious he started to introduce himself "Good morning everyone, I am Avon Starlight, I will be attending the academy alongside you all from today. Let's get along"
Saying so Avon tried to read the expressions of his fellow classmates. He saw a girl with silver hair have a poker face while he saw others somewhat surprised.
'"Just what were they expecting me to say ... '
Then one by one all his classmates stood up and introduced themselves.
The silver haired girl introduced herself as Silvia Stella.
Avon didn't really pay attention to the names as he had only one goal in mind. 'get the honour , get out!'
The next moment door opened and a robot brought a small cube and placed it on the ground and then the cube transformed into a desk. Avon was impressed. "That will be your place from today." Hilgs professor told him and then he sat there. So the classes began for Avon. He understoof almost nothing because he joined midway and this troubled him. That night he quickly went over the digital notes and videos available and learnt as much as he could.
The system of academy was such that one could attend any class they wanted any day. The exams were held every month so students who felt that they could pass could take up the tests. There were mainly 3 classes. One was mind cultivation, one more was combat training and the last one was theoretical knowledge.
Avon had noticed while cultivating that mana required for body cultivation was not sufficient on this planet, meaning he could only cultivate his mind. There was plenty of mana for that. Avon first focused on cultivating his mind. The technique Reveria gave him was far more efficient than the one taught at the academy and with the abundance of mana his speed of cultivation skyrocketed. The test of this month was still two days away. Avon focused only on mind cultivation. He had little to no contact with his classmates. He noticed that almost no one here knew each other. The only thing interesting was how everyone respected Sylvia. Avon didn't take all that seriously as he would leave soon anyways. He always left as soon as the mind cultivation classes were done. Others did think he was strange for doing that but they didn't care much as they themselves were busy.
After 5 days of enrolling at the academy Avon decided to give the exam. On his sixth day he went to the registration hall and got his roll number for the exam. He had no idea what kind of exam it will be, but he was prepared. Failing would not mean expulsion, not like he planned of failing. Avon was sitting quietly in the waiting room when his roll number was announced and he entered. Upon entering he saw some professors and a chair with a headset and some patches....it almost looked like an execution chair. They told him to sit and then connected the patches to his forehead and made him wear the headset.
"Cadet Avon, listen carefully, we will inject some chaos into your mind, if you can organize the chaos injected then you pass. Do not worry and give you best as we will make sure you do not get affected by the chaos injected. Are you ready?"
"Yes, sir"
Avon heard a smooth engine like sound and suddenly his mind started to become cloudy and his thoughts became disorganised.
'ugh! Get it together! Just calm down and do it . Don't forget that your planet relies on you! Your planet St..no no Kro....not that Earl..not Earl!my planet is...what is a planet?..no wait calm down and just think clearly ....breathe breathe!!'
