Learning about the raid

Avon calmed himself and didn't think much. He just introspected and concluded that the chaos was nothing but information injected into his mind, but disordered. He slowly started to read the information one by one and started to dis-entangle the chaos in his mind. One by one, bit by bit he was organising it. At the almost the end he noticed it was encoded information. He looked for a pattern in that and found a simple one. He quickly deciphered it and then opened his eyes. He once again recollected all the new information he gained through the chaos injected and then proceeded to tell the professors about it.

" The core of the planet rotates in a direction opposite to the planet's surface. This is because of a sea of magma in the surrounding the core. Whereas in the neighbouring planet Ferona the core as well as the planet has the same direction of rotation. The planet Ferona was a great ally in the past but now has been captured by the Non-organic race, Holtrons. Next month there will be a raid on the planet and the selection of cadets will start form the upcoming week. Only the best 290 will be chosen for the raid.....this is the information you gave me, right?"

One of the professors exclaimed happily "Oh yes yes! Excellent work cadet Avon. Excellent!"

The other professors also looked pleased. At least now Avon knew he definitely passed and then he thanked the professors and walked out. After a while his level for mind cultivation would be revealed to him via the result. Till then he went to the notice board and found the notice about the Ferona raid and checked for the eligibility criteria. He needed to be a level 2 cadet in all the subjects and then he had to know some language called Rhonese. This meant that Avon had to pass one exam in every subject and he had already done that in mind cultivation. He had to do so in combat and theory. Languages were probably taught alongside theoretical classes. Now that he knew exactly what to do Avon was relieved and somewhat happy. He didn't need to worry about what to do now. He knew what to do, he had to just do his best to achieve it.

He decided immediately joined the combat class. It turned out that whatever he attended, he had to attend at a designated time. A time that was same for his entire class. They took all classes every day whereas as Avon focused on only one and finished it extremely fast. Considering the technique Reveria gave him, his mind cultivation was very good. Luckily the combat class was going on right now with just 10 minutes having passed since the start.

His classmates were surprised as to why he suddenly entered combat class and didn't come to the mind cultivation class earlier. There was a bear like who seemed to be the coach. He asked Avon for his academy ID and upon seeing it he questioned "Will you come here regularly from today?"

"I will sir, until I pass the test that is, then I will go to theoretical classes"

"Oh what a unorthodox approach. Well then, I will prepare a personalized training method for you after seeing your fitness today. Now run 10 laps of this room. "

"Okay sir"

The combat training room was very big and one lap seemed to be a little more than half a kilometre.

Avon immediately started to run. His stamina had gone up tremendously thanks to Reveria's training. Still running 5 kilometres wasn't a joke. Avon knew this and kept his breathing in mind while running.

Meanwhile his classmates were in a deep discussion.

"Did he just say that he change class upon passing the exam, so doesn't that mean he passes a level in mind cultivation and is level 2 cadet now?" Said Thamo to his classmates in a series tone.

"But that is impossible, he can't have..." Romi was just looking stupefied. She couldn't believe such a thing could happen.

And so all his classmates stared at him while discussing wether he was really a level 2 mind cultivation cadet right now or not. Meanwhile Sylvia was just looking at the boy with black hair running around the room with narrowed eyes.

'Since the first day, his behaviour shows that he does not know much about this place.....he doesn't try to initiate any conversation with us and only spoke when was spoken to. Goes back as soon as class is done...just what is is his background. If he really did become a level 2 cadet in mind cultivation is such a short time ...but that is really impossible. Even the great Alvia took half a year.'

Meanwhile Avon unaware that he had become the centre of attention continued running. He had finished 3 laps so far and based on his internal assessment he knew he would probably be exhausted by 8 or 9 laps. 10 would definitely wring him out. Just as he finished his 4th lap and announcement came

"Avon Starlight, please come to the examination hall 1 to collect your results. "

Avon stopped running immediately and remembered how he forgot about his results.

'What an idiot I am. '

Scolding himself he took the the coach's permission and ran to the hall quickly.

On reaching he apologized to the professor there and then received his results.

His eyes widened upon seeing the results.

'I'm assigned level 4? I did that well?....nice! Professor Hilgs said that people usually advance by a level and talented people advance by almost two.... everyone will be shocked upon seeing this. I'll not disclose on my own to not cause a commotion.'

As Avon was about to put the certificate in his bag he realised he never bought one. No books were needed for mind cultivation so he never felt the need of a bag. 'what a wierd thing' he thought and then carried his certificate to the combat class. As soon as he entered his classmates swarmed his asking whether he passed or not. Even the neutral faced Sylvia seemed to be interested.

"Hey say something, did you pass?"

" Did you actually pass in such a short time?"

Suddenly Thamo snatched his certificate.

"Hey!?, give it back!"

But too late, "Level 4?!"
