A quick escape

Ragnar refused to answer, he wanted to be sure if his box was still in good shape.

Having confirmed, he moved closer to Amy, "Amy, I am only going to warn you once, don't you ever touch this box again, I will give you this because I haven't warned you before, next time, you won't be this lucky.

As Ragnar spoke, Amy could see the rage in his glance.

"Ragnar, I am sorry, I was just curious, I saw you staring at an object inside this box throughout yesterday, I wanted to see what it was.

"I don't care what you think Amy, I don't want you sniffing around, this is just business, nothing personal.

Having said that, Ragnar walked out of the room.

Amy sat down gently, She didn't understand why Ragnar would be so angry at her because of an ordinary box.

"I wonder if he heard everything I said to Dan. She muttered to herself. 

Her phone buzzed and it was the address of the location from Dan, the meeting was scheduled for the next day early in the morning.

Amy was in her best behaviour till the next morning, she was not going to make Ragnar suspect anything, he must not be aware of the meeting.

The next morning, Amy stood up and got dressed, she looked so beautiful and radiant, she noticed Ragnar had not made any attempt to go to work.

"Maybe he doesn't want to go to work today, she thought.

Ragnar kept watching Amy's movement and when he couldn't hold it again he asked.

"Where do you think you are going?

"Oh! Not again! Amy murmured before turning to face Ragnar.

"I need to see someone, it is really important.

Ragnar was surprised, "Have you forgotten our honeymoon starts today, I mean, I took time off work only for you to tell me you have something important to attend to.

Amy widened her eyes, she had totally forgotten about the honeymoon, "I am so sorry, Ragnar, I totally forgot.

Ragnar scoffed she couldn't believe Amy forgot something that important.

"Wow! You forgot about our honeymoon, so unbelievable.

He stood up and made an attempt to walk out, he wasn't angry, he only feigned It.

"Ragnar, I am deeply sorry, you have to believe me, something came up that needed my attention

"Fine Amy, I am not stopping you, you can go.

Ragnar said hoping Amy would not leave but to his disappointment, Amy took her bag and left the room.

Ragnar watched her leave, "I can't believe she left still. He muttered angrily.

Amy walked out of the room down to the reception, there she met Greg and John patiently waiting for her.

Hello Greg, Hello John

Good morning Mrs Langston, Greg replied, Mr Ragnar ordered that we escort you. 

"I will be your driver ma'am. John quickly added.

Amy sighed, she knew Ragnar wouldn't just allow her to leave without an escort.

"OK, let's go.

The three of them headed to Amy's car after Amy had shown John where they were heading to.

Within a few minutes they were at the location, Amy felt a butterfly in her tummy, she felt uncomfortable meeting with Ragnar but she decided to go ahead regardless.

Stepping down from the car, Amy saw Katherine's car packed, "I can't believe he came with his miserable wife. She muttered. 

Greg quickly followed her but his presence made Amy uncomfortable. 

"Please Greg, kindly stay back, I will handle this myself.

"I am afraid I can't stay back ma'am, Mr Ragnar ordered that I never leave your side 

Amy's frustration was palpable, "Listen Greg, I understand you can't disobey your boss, but you need to trust me on this, just call me when you think I am over staying and I promise I'd step out, please.

Greg realised he can't get Amy to change her mind, "Fine, you owe me one.

"Thank you Greg, with this Amy sighed and headed inside the restaurant. 

She saw Greg and Katherine seated in a corner.

Her heart beats as she approaches their table.

"See who we have here," Katherine began sarcastically. 

"Please Katherine, I am not here for you, " Amy shunned Katherine and turned to Dan.

"I am here now, can we just go straight to business, no chit chat, no insult please.

Dan shrugged. He checked his wristwatch, "Our investor would be here in no time.

Amy widened her eyes, "Dan, you didn't tell me I was meeting with the investor today, I thought we were supposed to discuss when we are meeting him.

"Well, Dan is full of surprises, she will be here in no time.

"What! Is it a she? Amy asked surprisingly. 

"Yes. Dan said and placed a magazine on the table, he slid the magazine to the other side of the table and Amy picked it up.

"That is the picture of the woman, you will be meeting her soon, you have a few minutes to prepare.

Amy widened her eyes in shock, she could not believe who she was seeing in the magazine.

CEO of D.D brand! She exclaimed and Dan nodded.

"Well, I suspected she might be sending a representative but be prepared just in case she decided to show up.

Amy started sweating profusely, Regnar must not find out about this, hence the contract would be over in no time.

She started thinking of ways to escape from this trap she had just found herself.

Katherine Noticed Amy's distress.

"Amy, are you okay? You seemed so unsettled or are you wondering how we got Clark Langston to set up a meeting with us? 

Before Amy could respond, her phone buzzed and it was Greg. 

"Amy, you need to get out of there fast, I don't know if it's really Clark Langston or her representative, but you seriously have to get out of there before Mr Regnar finds out.

Amy manages to steady her breath, "Fine, Greg, I will find a way to get out now. She whispered and hung up.

Dan had also noticed her distress, "Amy, are you alright?

Amy faked a smile, "Sure, I just need to use the restroom.

Dan wasn't convinced but he pointed to the way to the restroom. 

Amy picked up her stuff and walked as fast as she could towards the restroom, luckily for her she found an entrance and she passed through it. She wasn't sure where the entrance was going to lead to, but it led her to the back of the restaurant.

She peeped to be sure no one was watching, like a flash. She ran to the front of the restroom and saw two luxurious cars packed. She hid and peeped, "This must be Clark's car.

She made sure no-one was watching, and ran towards where her car was packed, it was packed far from where Clark's car was.

She was breathing fast as she settled inside the car.

"That was a very risky move you made Amy, you were not supposed to meet with Mrs Clark without Regnar's knowledge, I just hope Ragnar does not find out about this. Greg complained bitterly.

"I am really sorry, let's just get out of here. 

John took the wheel and drove out of the venue.

Amy's heart beat fast as they drove back to the hotel. I must tell Ragnar everything before he finds out by himself, she thought.
