Chapter 95

Damians POV

I tried…

I tried to remove the rope around my neck. My body suddenly engaged in a mindless fight for defense, an unwilling pursuit for life, and the more I tried to stop myself from tugging on the ropes, the harder it was to keep my hands still.

My legs wobbled and shook furiously as I was suspended on the rope until it all came crashing on the floor, followed by the deafening sound that preceded my head hitting the floor and the weight of the glass plummeting on my body.

I was certain I had some shades of glass in my ear, and some were already half way through my skull if not already sitting on it. I laid down there, defeated and disappointed that I still had consciousness after something this traumatic, and what baffled me was how the pain was persistent and how uncertain I was to knowing when it was going to end.
