Departure

~ Several Weeks Later ~

The land had been forever changed. There was now a small, yet bustling town. Inhabited by the various humanoid races, they grew together. With such a small change in the world, a truly sizable result was created. And the day came for the Dragon Lord's to depart.

"Let us not be strangers in the future." Tsa said, looking back towards Night Silver. A mixed look of confusion and desire in his eyes. "I'd love it if we could bring some skilled individuals back with us. But alas, we failed to convince any of them to make the journey again." He continued, saddened by the result.

"Why are you looking at me like that? It's not my fault for the centuries of your kind's oppression upon the other races." Night Silver humphed crossing her arms. "I'm only following you back this time to liberate the rest of my elven people." She continued peeking over bashfully.

There was a moment that the other 6 gods chuckled light heartedly. There was finally a moment where they could relax a little and enjoy… Joy. A testament to the magnitude of their work thus far. A testament to the struggle of constant alertness.

Though they could relax a little, they knew that it wouldn't be all easy. After all, there was a high likelihood for something to happen where they would need to intervene once again. The one who knew this best of all was the Wind God. He was the most keen of mind of them all. And was why he was the guildmaster, smart and a people person.

"Be safe on your way back. We will have this place ready to accept anyone you send back here through magic. And I'll make sure your druid students continue their practice." The God of wind said, with a confident look. His attempt was to show Night Silver there was nothing to worry about here, and that she could travel worry free.

"Good, I'll trust that this is the case. There will come a point where I desire to travel the world over and discover all it has to offer. A full and complete exploration of this world. But I can't very well do that if I'm constantly worried about everyone." Night Silver said, stretching. I wonder if I should tease him a little with a kiss on the cheek? Pfft that would be funny. Wait, hmm… I should think that through more clearly. Why am I thinking like this now? Is it that my body has changed? Oh well. "Well, time to go. Any longer and we may never leave." She said, casting a flying spell.

"To all of you, I offer my gratitude. The kindness you've demonstrated will prove to be helpful. Of that, I am certain. Fair well, new friends of ours." Tsa said, expanding his wings, and taking to the skies.

The remaining four dragon lords spread their wings and took to the sky as well. With each dragon shooting into the skies, came a burst of air pressure, causing the nearby trees to shake and wave. Leaves falling to the ground ahead of when their time should have been. The God of Earth noticed this occurring and sighed internally, waiting for the dragons to leave.

"I don't think it's right for us to completely trust those dragons. Their existence alone seems to bring disturbance to the world." The God of Earth said, noting that the dragons were long gone by now.

"I think that's something we can all agree on. I get the same feeling from them as I did from seeing or hearing the names of the corporations that destroyed our world." The God of Fire said, finally able to show his true feelings about the dragons now.

"They may not become that terrible. At least not those ones. But we should still remain vigilant all the same. And teach all of the people of our little civilization how to defend themselves from such forces." The God of Light said, rubbing his chin.

"Listen up, in our old world we were powerless to do anything. This time we are strong and have the ability to protect the world. Let us do our part." The Water Goddess added with her own nod.

"We have a problem though. Our life spans are likely still going to be a normal human's lifespan… Save for Surshana and Night Silver, the 5 of us will die in time." The God of Light sighed at the inevitability.

"That just means we have to pass down all of our skills, abilities and knowledge. The generations that come after us will take care of the rest." The God of Wind said. "It's decided then, we must try to increase the odds of our power being inherited… That means we're going to be busy in another way." He added.

~ In the Skies ~

Night Silver and the 5 dragon lords flew at high speed. Without having to worry about safely transporting a large number of people, the trip was much faster. However, it was still quite a distance and thus there was time to talk.

"Silver, is there anything we can do to keep you for a few days more than planned?" Tsa asked, worried that the two days they had previously discussed wasn't going to be enough.

"I don't think that's a good idea. We should keep to the original agreement. Besides, I have to get back and teach my students the ways of the druid. And prepare them for when I inevitably go on my long journey." Night Silver said, deciding to not even remotely entertain the idea.

Tsa went quiet for a moment. "I see, in that case I won't press the issue. Instead, promise me something?" He said.

"Oh? What do you want me to promise?" Night Silver said, raising her brow.

"Barring any insane events from happening, we should remain on friendly terms. Perhaps, even a bit more than…" Tsa said, with a blush.

"We can be friends, that much is fine. But if you were about to ask me to bear your child… I should inform you that it would be impossible. My dragon transformation spell isn't one I can hold for all that long. I only use it to up my resistances and defenses when I have to take damage." Night Silver replied, cutting Tsa off.

"Oh, you're right, it is a lot harder getting through scales than it is through flesh. Now, let's drop this embarrassing topic. We're almost there." Tsa said, with his voice slightly showing he was embarrassed by what Night Silver said.
