The place where Lewin and his father rented was just outside the town. It's a poor village and the house which was said to be sold is exactly as Lewin described. It's just a room and the rent is cheap.
"Father! I'm back!"
A man whose face seemed to have weathered great sorrows in life went out and smiled at Lewin. He is a little thin, with old clothes but with a gentle demeanor. He is dragging his left leg as he approaches them.
"Father, these are my bosses! Meara and Theron Ivar. They will let us stay at the house at the back of the store. We'll serve as caretakers there since they go home every day."
"Really? We won't be homeless?" He suddenly bowed to them.
"You're a blessing to us. Thank you so much, thank you…" He started crying.
Now, Meara and Theron knew where Lewin got that sudden-burst-of-crying thing.
Theron smiled at the old man.
