Greg
Watching Mimi pass through the pain breaks my heart. I thought I was broken, but looking at her, I knew what being broken was. I knew I was in a better place. She is shattered without repair. She is a mess. A very big one. You know when you throw a mug cup on the ground with force thank way it shattered on the ground without repair. That is how she is. She is broken into tiny pieces.
"Greg?"
"What is the matter?"
"I still lose the baby. I couldn't save her. I woke up this morning with a pain in my stomach. Before I could reach those drugs, there was blood. Too much blood."
Looking at how she was trying to hold off her tears but she couldn't. But she failed. It hurt my heart to see it.
"Shsh. It's not your fault. You tried your best to save her. Okay?"
I reached out to her and embraced her. At least that is the only thing I can do for her.
"But it was not enough. I could have tried harder. I have lost many, and it hurts when that happens."
"Mimi. God knows the best. He did not want you to have a baby with the boss, he knows what will happen if you do."
"What will happen?"
"Like when you look at the baby, you will remember how she came into existence. You are broken enough Mimi. God did not want to add to your pain. Please stop blaming yourself. Take it as the gateway to the success of our plan. The baby came for you to use to climb to the next level of your freedom."
"When will I start my training I don't have anything that is stepping me down."
"If you are strong enough, you will join the guys tomorrow, or better still next week."
"No, I'm starting tomorrow. We don't have time. Time is not on our side."
" But Mimi, you just had a miscarriage, and we need to take you to the nurse first. Please your health comes first."
" I know but....."
"No, but Mimi. We're going and that is final."
I took her to the nurse. Although there wasn't much equipment there, it was the best we could do. After examining her, the nurse advised us to go to the hospital if we could find a way to leave the Manor. She has lost almost six pregnancies, so there are remnants of blood in her stomach. We thanked her and left, But she gave us some medicine.
"Don't worry we will figure out a way to get to the hospital."
"Ok. Thank you, Greg."
"For what?"
" For everything. Thank you."
" You are welcome."
"The next day, she joined the guys in training, determined to push herself harder than anyone else. I was worried about the intense pace she was attempting, fearing that she might not be able to handle it. Little did I know that she was struggling with what they later diagnosed as borderline personality disorder."
"Mimi? What are you doing?"
"I'm fine. I'm just..."
I crouched down and held her hand to check what she used to harm herself. I gazed at her with a genuine expression full of love and concern.
"Mimi."
"Please don't ask me. I'm fine. Please don't ask me."
"It's okay. Wait here, I'm coming."
I got a first aid kit. Cleaned and bandaged her wound.
"You are good to go."
"Thank you, Greg."
"We are in this together. You have my support, and I know you're aware of my love for you."
"I'm broken beyond repair, Greg. You can't love me."
"But I do. The heart chooses whoever it wants and nothing can stop it. I know you have gone through a lot. I have not even passed through a quarter of what you have. But I'm not much better. Okay? We will succeed and take over this underworld and then face your father. Just give me a chance. Please let me in. Let me love you."
"I have developed borderline personality disorder. You know, my body became addicted to all the drugs the boss used on me. So feeling pain is my only way of escaping. I'm a mess."
"It will be fine. I believe in you."
The most painful experience is when you watch the woman you love crying in your arms with so much pain, and you don't know what to do to help but just watch her cry, doing nothing.
As days passed away, watching her becoming stronger is what gives me joy. Taking down anyone who looks down or insults her. Becoming more stronger and hazardous. And becoming the top one among her group that I just trained to say the truth she became stronger than me.
"Today is the last day of your training. The last man standing will be among the boss's special men who are staying in the main building with the boss, and you know what that means."
"Yes!!!"
"It will begin when the boss arrives."
"The boss is here."
"Good day, boss." We were all greeted. He sits down on the chair prepared for him without responding to our greeting.
"Now the boss is here, let the fight begin."
The fight only has two rules. One, no weapons are allowed. Two, It's not a fight to the death. Once you're down you are out. The down I mean is that once you don't have the strength to continue, you are beaten to the extent that you can't feel or you fainted, you are out. It can be two against one or ten against one. No one cares. But what the boss needs in the end is one man standing. My only focus is on Mimi. I watch as she takes down people who come to her one by one fearlessly until she is the last man standing. The boss was surprised. He names her the winner.
"The winner is Mimi." He stood up, went to her, and raised her hand. "What will you be called?"
"I don't know"
"Let me give you a name. Hmm, mosquito. Yes, mosquito.""
"Mosquito?"
"Yes, apart from humans, the mosquito is the most dangerous animal in the whole wide world. Small but mighty."
Sure! Here is the revised text:
"After that, no one remembered her real name. That name became the most dangerous name in the underworld. In the boss's mind, he had found an unbeatable weapon. She was determined to carve out her path. I made the right decision when I chose to follow her.".
