“Morning,” Rhiannon said when she saw Octavius seated in the living room.
Octavius looked at his watch and then at her before nodding and continuing to work on the laptop.
Rhiannon frowned when she saw his reaction. She wanted to complain but when she remembered that they weren’t familiar with each other although they were married, she closed her mouth and walked towards the kitchen.
“Good morning Uncle Alfred,” she said when she saw the man.
“Morning young mistress, kindly sit down and I will serve you with your breakfast in a few,” Alfred said as he looked at her.
“No need. I can see that you are busy. I will make my breakfast,” Rhiannon said as she walked towards the coffee maker.
“No. I am been paid to serve you and the young master thus please allow me to do my job,” he insisted.
Hearing this, Rhiannon stopped what she was doing and looked at the man since his words reminded her of her nanny.
“Okay. Please prepare a glass of passion juice and a chicken sandwich for me. I think there is no need for me to take a cup of coffee,” she said before walking out.
Just when she was about to prepare the coffee, she remembered that she wasn’t going to work thus there was no need for her to drink coffee to energize herself.
She walked towards the dining room as she hummed and looked around but she didn’t get a chance to look around the previous day.
The butler walked out of the kitchen after some minutes and found her standing and lost in thought.
“Young mistress, there is your breakfast. Hope you enjoy,” he said hoping that his words would bring her back from her thoughts.
“Oh, thank you. Also, Uncle Alfred, I think that it’s so empty here. What about we put some paintings and artifacts here to lighten the room?” she asked.
“This madam, I don’t know. Sir, rarely stays here….”
“As he isn’t from here…blablabla…I know. I already have heard those words. But I still think no matter where he lives, we should decorate the house how it is needed,” Rhiannon interrupted him.
“But miss…”
“Let her do whatever she wants to do. It is her house or should I say home as she is my wife. All you need is support her and help her out when she needs something,” Octavius' cold words were heard stunning them as they didn’t think that he had been listening to them.
“Does this mean that I can decorate the house the way I want? What if I redecorate it?” Rhiannon asked in happiness as it was the first time someone had given her permission to do what she wanted to do without getting reprimanded.
Thinking that he was lying or that he might change his decision, she ran to the living room and looked at him to be sure that she was right.
“Mmh. Take this card and buy anything you want to add,” Octavius said as he handed her a black card when he saw her in the room.
Rhiannon looked at the card and shook her head.
“No need. I will buy everything with my own money but if I need some, I will notify you,” she said.
To her, Octavius had saved her life and given her a new life thus she was afraid that if she accepted the card, he might think that she married him because of his money and she didn’t want that.
Octavius stared at her and saw that she was in deep thought and could guess what she was thinking about but since she said so, he didn’t force her thus he returned the card to his wallet.
“Go eat first,” he said with a frown when he saw her walking around the living room looking at the decorations and paintings.
“Okay,” she said with her head lowered as she was embarrassed.
She hurriedly ate her breakfast, took the utensils to the kitchen, and wiped the dining table before walking to the living room.
“Everything screams luxury here. One might even think that the person living in this house is the richest man in the world,” she murmured.
Octavius heard her words and paused what he was doing.
“Instead of looking around as you start creating your imaginations on what you should change and not what to change, why don’t you prepare yourself for tomorrow?” He said in a cold tone as he hated being disturbed mostly when he was working.
“What’s happening tomorrow so that I should prepare myself?” she asked in confusion and with a pout.
“The new leader will be appointed tomorrow or should I say, the person with the largest shares in your parent's company will become the president tomorrow,” he told her making Rhiannon understand.
“How do you know?” she asked as she couldn’t understand how the latter found out.
“Madam, when sir realized your plans, he sent someone on the enemy's side so that we can always be informed when they plan something,” Octavius' assistant said as he walked in.
Rhiannon was stunned as she never expected such a thing. She never expected that her new husband whom they didn’t have any affection for each other would care so much for her that he would do such a thing. She was so touched that she almost shed some tears.
Octavius was displeased by his assistant as he wondered who gave the man the right to tell Rhiannon what he had been doing.
“Oh,” she said when she saw her husband’s face and darkened.
“Can you help me with some things?” she asked in a low tone as she didn’t know whether the latter would agree or not.
“Get out,” Octavius said coldly as he looked at his assistant.
“Sorry. Excuse me,” the man said hurriedly before leaving.
Octavius looked at Rhiannon and gestured her to say what she wanted to say.
They talked for an hour before Rhiannon stood up and walked upstairs.
“Guess I need to buy clothes for the events and daily needs as I don’t have,” she murmured.
“The clothes will be delivered soon,” a voice said from behind her.
“She turned around and glanced at him before walking to her room and locking it as she didn’t want to be disturbed as she planned what her next moves would be and what she would say to convince the old men in the company so that they can agree on her being the president,
