The first few weeks were hectic but I learnt a few things. For instance, the security in this place sucked. Like honestly were they even trying to hide anything.
My suitemates invited me out for lunch again but I declined, telling them I had some reading to do.
It was a lie.
I decided to spend the lunch hour sketching under my favourite tree. I know it's a very nerdy thing to say but I really liked the tree. Everything was going well till someone dumped dirty water on me.
"Oh my. I'm so sorry. I just thought I saw some trash here." Snickered the rude make-up girl from yesterday.
"It's fine." I responded.
I was less concerned about her and more concerned about my sketching materials-which were fully soaked.
Dang it! Those were new.
"Hey!!" She screamed. By now, we had already gathered a bit of a crowd. "Are dumb or pretending to be? Looking at people like you just makes me sick. Don't you think it's high time you get lost from here?" She said poking me in the chest as she talked.
I sighed. How immature. How old was she? Five?
"Ok." I responded. I picked up my things and started leaving.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm leaving. Isn't it obvious?"
"I never gave permission to leave."
"You did."
"When?"
"You literally just told me to get lost."
"You think you're so smart, huh? When I am..."
"What is going on here?" Someone whistled.
I had noticed him standing in the crowd for a while.
Blake. The Vampire Prince.
"Nothing." Make-up girl straightened. "We were just having a little talk."
"Doesn't seem like a little talk, Britney." He replied.
Britney glared at me for a brief moment before smiling back at Blake.
"I assure you it was."
"Well then. I suggest you wrap it up. Lunch time is almost over."
"Yes. Yes, of course."
Like that the crowd scattered like ants with Britney slowly melting in to them.
When it was just the two of us, he turned to me and said
"Hi. I'm Blake."
"Thanks for your help." I bowed and left.
He didn't call me back not that I expected him to.

I had just one class after lunch. I changed into another outfit and made my way down for class. It was held in large, dome hall made completely of stone with a stained glass mirror behind the podium where the teacher would teach . The windows were few and high up on the walls so it was pretty dark in the hall.
"Who would have thought that one of the top fairy students sat at the back of the class?" Blake said as he sat next to me."
"It's stupid to assume top students sit at the front. That's just a stereotype. I don't care where I sit as long as I can hear the teacher."
"You're not going to be able to hear the teacher from here. This class can get pretty noisy."
Fairies and vampires didn't have any classes together. However there are some classes mandated for all races. This class-Peace and Conflict Resolution was an example. It was absolutely pointless since no one here seemed to understand the simple concept of peace but it was a mandated class.
"That's because I don't need the teacher to pass this class . I'm only here for the attendance. It doesn't really matter if I hear what he says or not."
"Someone's confident." He smirked.
I shrugged.
"Why aren't you sitting with your friends?" He asked.
"I don't have any."
"And your suitemates?"
"Are exactly just that. Suitemates not friends."
"Rude." He scoffed playfully.
"Why aren't you sitting with your friends?" I asked.
"No reason. A change of scenery is nice sometimes."
"You should go . I'm sure they are missing you."
"Nah. They'll be fine. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're trying to shoo me away."
"I am."
"You also left pretty fast this afternoon."
"Because I figured you didn't want to talk. After all you helped me out, just to piss off Britney."
"Was it obvious?" He asked amused.
"Nope but I could still tell."
"Wanna be friends?"
"Nope." I declined immediately.
He looked shocked.
"Why not? You just said you didn't have any."
"That's by choice. Plus if I wanted to be friends with anyone it wouldn't be you."
"What's wrong with me?" He asked innocently, tilting his head to the side.
"Your face."
Blake was gorgeous, even for a vampire. He was about 6" or 6"1 with broad shoulders and long legs. He had a strong jawline, pale skin, black hair and black eyes with a beauty mark under his right eye.
"Pretty people, powerful people and popular people attract trouble. You are all three which means you're gonna bring me a load of trouble."
"You say it like you aren't pretty gorgeous yourself." He smirked and I froze.
"Are you blushing?" He asked amazed.
"Shut up." I muttered and he laughed some more.
"I won't bring you any trouble. Also if we're friends bugs like Britney won't bother you any more."
"Fine." I sighed.
"So friends yeah?"
"For now. You're on probation."
"Alright. I'm Blake."
"Kasha. Kasha Mazekeen."
"Pleasure to meet you, Kasha."
Just like that Blake and I chatted through the whole class and exchanged numbers at the end.

I opened the door to the suite and met my suite mates on the floor chatting and eating snacks.
" Hi." Tessa greeted.
"Hi. How was class?"
"It was ok. You?"
"Same."
"Would you like some snacks?"
"No, I'm good. Thanks." I said and entered my room as fast as I could.
"Lila!! Lila you will never believe what happened."
"Hello to you too, Princess."
"I made a friend today. My very first friend." I said as I squealed happily.
"Girl stop that before your suitemates come barging in here."
"It's fine. The room is soundproof."
Lila was an enchanted talking rose plant. She was practically my only friend since well ever.
"So what did you blackmail her into being your friend?"
"No I did not. HE approached me first and said he wanted to be my friend."
"Really? It's a boy. Wow."
"Yeah. He even called me pretty." I giggled.
"That's good. I'm proud of you,babe."
"Thank you."
"What else happened today?"
I then proceeded to tell her all about my day before falling asleep on the bed.
I woke up after an hour, took a shower and began my homework. I was half way through when Lila started yelling.
"Princess! Heyyy Princess!!"
"Yes, Lila."
"Your ball is glowing."
I set my pen down and turned and she was right. It was glowing. It was reacting to 'that magic'. Guess I was right. It really was in this school. I shoved the ball and a few books down my bag and set out to see if I could trace the origin.
"Kasha. Hi. Are you going down for dinner?" Tessa asked.
"No, I'm not. I have other plans. You guys have fun though." I replied with a smile and left . As I shut the door I could hear Racquelia and Meira talking.
"I really don't know why you keep trying to talk to her. It's obvious she doesn't want to talk to us so just leave her be."
"Don't be like that guys. She said she had plans."
"Yeah. At least she came up with an excuse this time instead of avoiding us. I knew from the moment I saw that posh little prick that she was gonna be a huge snob and I was right. She..."
I stopped listening to the rest and headed downstairs and out side into the garden where the fresh air graced my face. It was coming from somewhere in the Green Forest. I took off at full speed and dashed into the forest. I brought out the ball from my bag. It wasn't just glowing by now it was pulsating, the powerful vibrations seeping through me.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
It's here.
I gently set the ball down and reached into my bag for a baseball bat. Everyone liked using swords and spears but you'd be surprised how much damage you could do with a baseball.
I could feel it. In the forest. It felt unnatural. Running circles around me. Stalking me like a predator. I just needed to find out where it was.
There!
I blasted a fireball on its direction and it screeched and tumbled out into the moonlight.
It was just as hideous as mother had said. About seven feet tall. Grimy green skin with long arms and so skinny I could see its bones. A face with nothing but a large mouth filled with sharp monster-like teeth.
It bared its teeth at me, let out another horrible screech and bolted into the forest. I chased after it but for something so skinny it was surprisingly fast as it vanished into thin air when we reached a clearing with a lake.
Gone. I stood there breathing heavily looking around me. It just vanished. Dang it! I couldn't sense it anymore.
"Is this what you do during dinner time? Hunt monsters?"
"What are you doing here Blake?"
"I saw you sneaking off somewhere and figured I'd follow you."
"Did it ever occur to you that I might not want to be followed?"
"Nope."
I scoffed at him and began retracing my steps back to my bag.
"What was that?"
"That was nothing. Because you saw nothing. Because you're not here."
"But I am here and I did see something."
Ughhh. He's insufferable.
"What was it?"
"Doesn't matter."
"Come on. I could help."
"Doubtful."
"Let me help or I'll tell the school authorities all about the scary monster I saw in the woods."
"Really? Blackmail? That's what going with."
"It's working, isn't it?"
"Fine. But that doesn't mean I'm answering all your questions." I sighed.
"That thing. Where'd it go?
"Don't know. But I do have an idea."
"Is it coming back?"
"Definitely."
