Adrian was meditating, a habit that had brought him peace in his past life and now continued to serve him well. As he focused, buzzing noises caught his attention. Both Chimchar and Bulbasaur perked up, their eyes trained on the source of the sound. Adrian's gaze fell upon an old man with gray hair and a white coat, sprinting desperately while a swarm of Beedrills pursued him. The man suddenly stumbled and fell. Recognizing the danger, Adrian knew they needed to act quickly.
"Chimchar, use Ember on the Beedrills. Bulbasaur, use Razor Leaf!"
As his Pokémon engaged the Beedrills, Adrian rushed over to help the old man. He swiftly returned his Pokémon to their Pokéballs and led the old man to safety behind a large bush, where they concealed themselves until the Beedrills lost interest.
Adrian muttered under his breath, "These Beedrills are incredibly bothersome."
The old man, panting, looked at Adrian with gratitude. "Thank you, young man, for your help."
Adrian studied the old man and recognized him as Professor Oak.
"It's no trouble, Professor. But how did you end up in this predicament?" Adrian asked.
"I was observing a new colony of Beedrills," Professor Oak explained. "I accidentally snapped a twig underfoot, which alerted them and sent them after me."
"I see. Beedrills can be quite aggressive. You should be more cautious in the future," Adrian advised.
"I will. By the way, where are my manners? My name is Samuel Oak. I'm a Pokémon researcher. You can call me Professor Oak."
"Nice to meet you, Professor Oak. I'm Adrian. I travel around catching Pokémon and exploring different regions."
"Pleasure to meet you, Adrian. Why don't you visit my lab? There are many Pokémon you might find interesting," Professor Oak offered.
Excited by the opportunity, Adrian agreed. This visit would be an excellent start to his journey.
"Thank you, Professor. I'd be delighted to visit," Adrian said.
He released Chimchar, who seemed to dislike being in his Pokéball. Professor Oak was surprised to see a Chimchar, as they were rare in the Kanto region.
"Your Chimchar looks very healthy. It's clear you take good care of him," Professor Oak noted.
Adrian chuckled, unable to reveal that he had only met Chimchar the previous day. Despite this, he felt a strong bond with Chimchar.
As they left the forest, Adrian noticed a jeep parked on the road. Assuming it belonged to Professor Oak, he followed him to the vehicle. After a half-hour drive, they arrived in Pallet Town, a lively place where people showed great respect for Professor Oak. They soon reached the Pokémon Laboratory. Professor Oak exited the jeep and opened the door, inviting Adrian inside.
"Come in, Adrian."
Adrian stepped inside and was greeted by a facility filled with lab equipment, computers, and numerous Pokémon-related books. He followed Professor Oak to a back door, which led to a large field where Pokémon of various types and sizes roamed freely. Professor Oak began to explain.
"This field accommodates Pokémon with diverse environments: grass, sand, rocks, and lakes, to promote their development. We also have the technology to keep Pokémon healthy and conduct extensive research. Trainers often leave their Pokémon here for us to care for while they're away."
"This is impressive," Adrian remarked. "Professor Oak, may I stay here to study Pokémon and assist with your research? It has been my intention to learn more about Pokémon from the start."
Professor Oak smiled. "I'd be glad to have your assistance. Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Absolutely. I planned to visit you to learn more, so meeting you beforehand is a stroke of luck," Adrian replied.
"Excellent! You're welcome to use the guest room and stay as long as you like," Professor Oak said.
Thus, Adrian began his stay at the Pokémon Laboratory, studying Pokémon and their habits. He discovered that Pokémon had unique personalities and preferences for food based on their traits. For instance, Chimchar, with its joyful and brave nature, preferred slightly spicy food, while the timid Bulbasaur enjoyed sweet treats. Professor Oak adapted to these findings, and Adrian also learned to prepare Pokémon food.
He provided the Pokémon food he had brought to Professor Oak, who was astonished by the amount. Professor Oak commented that Adrian had gone overboard, but Adrian was content knowing he had prepared well.
Adrian assisted in caring for the Pokémon and those belonging to various trainers. Occasionally, he had to deal with Professor Oak's grandson, Gary, who often bombarded him with questions. Gary admired Adrian's appearance and was impressed by the strength of his Chimchar and Bulbasaur.
Adrian also focused on training his Pokémon, improving Chimchar's hand-to-hand combat skills and Bulbasaur's precision with move execution. As the days passed, eighty in total, Adrian's Pokémon were ready to evolve. He used the AI system to check their progress.
"System, display my Pokémon's stats," Adrian requested.

Seeing the impressive stats and readiness for evolution, Adrian felt a surge of satisfaction. Despite their slow evolution, the careful training had ensured that his Pokémon were well-prepared and versatile.
"Even though Magikarp's stats seem weak, its speed is remarkable. I can only imagine how formidable it will be as a Gyarados," Adrian mused.
Feeling ready for the next phase of his journey, Adrian declared, "I think I'm prepared to start my adventure to become the greatest Pokémon Master."
