The Bardocks

Zhou lingered waiting for time to flow once more, it took a while for time to eventually begin to flow once again but when it did Zhou made himself a nice little camp for him to stay the night.

The camp was small but rather homely, Zhou had spent some time looking around for anything that could be used as an ornament. To at least make the place look better, it would be a bad image if someone who knew this body were to find him just sleeping out on the dirt, plus if there really were an organisation out to get this body then being exposed would do him no good.

Still he slept in this camp for the night, he led on the hard floor with what he could only assume was a sheet of metal leaned against the wall of a nearby building. He kinda looked like a homeless person from his previous world well except the clothes he was wearing, which drew him some concern he was dressed as a person of nobility the kind you would see from a historical novel.

He had a tight leather tunic with red lining, two buttons sat holding together his overcoat which was a calming shade of grey with hints of gold scattered faintly throughout its material.

Even his body, for the few short seconds he had taken to observe it had noble aura to it he seemed like an esteemed young master.

Zhou smiled shortly before beginning to take of his upper clothing so as to not get them dirty, it would be a shame if he was recognised in public and he was dirty it would tarnish this poor body's reputation. Well if it even had one left, something must have happened that would lead to him attempting suicide.

He was soon half naked taking to the cold floor he let out a long sigh, he was tired he didn't know why but today's events seemed to especially tire him out more so than he thought it would. Of course it wasn't physical fatigue but rather mental, he had uncovered so much about the world he didn't know what to do with it and so he needed time to digest the knew found knowledge.

Turning over to his side and allowing his arm to creep up to his head he began to sleep, the cool nights breeze gently guided him into a soothing slumber which would last until daybreak.

To his shock he woke up exactly when it turned day he even had time to watch the sun rise, like the moon the sun was a bright blue and emitted an ethereal sort of radiance which could blind any who weren't used to it. Luckily his body was used to it so he was fine, still it was a sight to behold back in his old world the sun was a simple ball of orange so it naturally came as a shock and awe that the sun was blue here.

It was clear he was no longer on earth anymore, so he had to find out more information about this place. However he didn't get the chance to think on this for much longer as before he knew it a man with a tall smile was approaching him, the man was tall with a slender frame along with blue eyes which exuded a hue of superiority contrary to his eye colour his hair was pitch black.

He was wearing a tall trench coat which seemed to tickle his ankles as he walked and he carried a cane despite being able to walk well, maybe it was just the fashion of this place.

The smiling man extended a hand to the half naked Zhou and proudly exclaimed,

"My name is Louis Bardock, i couldn't help but notice you seem to be homeless and to your luck i run a shelter for the homeless or perhaps it would be more honest to call it an orphanage instead!" Louis had a cheery voice he seemed to be very good with people which was kind of expected of a noble, well Zhou only assumed he was a noble he could very well be just an ordinary orphanage master but the way he held himself was a sure identification of his nobility.

Zhou stared at the man dumbstruck, he did not know what he was saying yet he did somehow as far as he knew he only learnt English in school and apart from that only small bits of other European Languages. Yet this language wasn't like any he had heard before, it was like a mix of mandarin and Spanish from his previous world and as far as he knew he didn't know any of those languages.

Setting aside this wondrous mental translation he began to introduce himself, he had decided he should create an alias so he doesn't get caught or so that no one can make the connection of him and another world.

Zhou extended his hand to grasp Louis, and began to speak.

"My name is Charles, pleasure to meet you and yes technically right now i am homeless" Charles who was Zhou's Alias spoke.

"Technically?" Louis replied almost instantly, a confused look strewn across his face. How could someone be technically homeless?.

"Ah well you see i have no recollection of any events that happened in my life from the time leading up to now, rather from 2 days ago." Charles added which garnered a suspicious look from Louis, it was clear he didn't believe him even if he didn't openly admit it.

"I see, well in any case you may stay at the orphanage until you regain some of your memory but since you are clearly an adult you will have to pay a sum of a quarter pence a week" Louis added semi-suspicious of Charles, Charles on the other hand looked at Louis with a confused expression.

'What the hell is a quarter-pence?, wait is it their currency oh no have i become ignorant of such thing since i came here? wasn't it obvious?, wherever there were humans money followed. It was such a simple idea yet it was true'

His mind ran amok for a while before settling down, by the time it did Louis had taken notice of his confused expression and had raised his hand to his chin in a thinking manner trying to find the best way to explain to him the currency system here.

"Oh, i forgot sorry you don't remember much do you well i shall explain for you then!. There are three currencies here in the country of Thivelia, the first and cheapest is the bronze; Quarter-pence, Half-pence and pence. Then its the Silver; Quarter-pence, Half-pence and pence. And finally the most valuable Gold! in the same fashion as the other two, there are also Rhuls the system to a Rhul is for every 1 Rhul its 1 Gold pence, 5 Silver pence and 50 Bronze pence!." Louis added small smirk appearing on his face it was clear he was very knowledgeable in the field of money, Charles looked at him a calm expression he had shockingly digested that information quite well perhaps due to its shocking similarities with the currencies of his world.

"So I'm paying a Bronze Quarter-pence a week right?, or is it more?" Charles questioned garnering a surprised look from Louis, Louis had expected him to take some time trying to understand the Monetary system in this country especially since Thiveria's economy was one of the strongest if not The strongest in the entirety of the western Continent!.

Louis gave Charles a nod of approval, "Yes you will have to pay one Quarter-pence a week to live in the orphanage." Charles slowly nodded while resting his had on his chin, he had already decided to go with the man but he had to put up a thinking front or else he would gather even more suspicion toward himself which he did not want, he took a few minutes to slowly 'think' before eventually responding.

"Alright, i will accompany you to the Orphanage. May i get my clothes first though?" Charles added with a tinge of embarrassment in his voice, he didn't particularly like being seen half naked due to his prior experiences in life but this body was a huge leap forward in comparison to his old one so the effects of the embarrassment did not last longer than they should have.

"You may" Louis had a small tinge of red on his face, he had not even realised that Charles was sat half naked.

Charles shot up and quickly excused himself toward the other side of the metal sheet and grabbed his clothes, he took his time clothing himself making sure it was all on the right way he didn't want to look scruffy with his new 'companion' it would be bad for his reputation. Once he had fitted his clothes back on safely he reached for his breast pocket making sure the mystical watch was in fact still there, he sighed grasping the watch before eventually letting it slip back into the breast pocket.

He then came to Louis ready to finally head off toward the orphanage, it was still dawn and the sun still sat low so not many people were out which to Charles was amazing he would never skip a chance to avoid social interaction.

They walked along the long streets of the city of Thalis, Louis had described the city and gave its general location in the country of Thiveria apparently this was not the capital city despite its en amorous size and amazing architecture, rather the capital was even grander and its where the king; George Thiveria the IX lived.

The two walked for a while before arriving at a decently sized building which was supported by thick pillars which sprouted from the ground, the walls were coated in thick weed like vines which seemed to cover the entire building. On the front of the building there was a large sign which read 'Bardocks orphanage' Charles looked at it for a while before being interrupted by Louis who had began to make his way forward before slowly turning around in front of the building.

Louis raised his hands along with cane and spoke softly, a faint smile on his face.

"Welcome to the Bardocks!"
