Chapter 6:Emily and Work

---

"Emily!!!" Aris exclaimed. Emily was his childhood friend; they used to play together until the incident.

Because of the INCIDENT, Emily's family had to relocate along with her. Although they talked for a while through letters, gradually, as they grew older, they just didn't feel the need to talk to each other.

"Aris, I can't believe it's you!" Emily squealed as she hugged him, smashing her boobs against his chest.

"Yeah, we haven't seen each other since the INCIDENT. I hope your dad and mom are okay."

"They're all chill except for my dad. He passed away just three years after the INCIDENT."

"So what are you doing here?" Emily asked him.

"Well, I'm just here to... work. I've been allocated to the new Team LightDragon."

"What about you?" Aris finished in a single breath.

"Me?!!" Emily said, looking flustered.

"Yes, you," Aris nodded.

"Well... I'm like... just..." Emily said while rubbing her fingers together and moving her feet up and down.

When Aris saw the pose, he recognized it as the legendary cute position; he knew something was up.

"Boss... you were supposed to address the LightDragon division. What the heck are you doing here smiling and laughing with a... damn, he's hot!" A 6'5" beauty said as she reached Emily's side.

"Hey, I'm Aris," Aris extended his hand.

But the girl just ignored the hand and went straight for a hug. "Hey, handsome, the name is Alicia."

"Oh... okay, well, I'm going to go meet up with the team. It was nice seeing you... boss."

************

"Listen up, everyone. You didn't join this team to play it safe or back down when things get tough. You're here because you know there's something more out there—and for the slightly bigger pay. The new Zone isn't just a battlefield; it's a test. A test of our strength, our courage, and our will to survive. Each of you brings something unique to the table—skills that could tip the scales when the odds are stacked against us," Emily said while looking at him.

"You've all faced challenges before, but what's coming? It's bigger, it's badder, and it's going to push us to our limits."

"But I believe in this team. I believe in each and every one of you. We've got each other's backs, and together, we can overcome anything. So, gear up, stay sharp, and remember: We're not just another team. We're a force of nature. Let's go out there and show this world what we're made of!"

The crowd was speechless; the speech that Emily gave made them feel motivated. It made them feel special, like they really mattered in the job.

Aris, being a good friend, started to clap, and then the rest joined in as they clapped for Emily and the good speech she gave.

After the round of applause, the crowd immediately entered their gaming pods, ready to dive in to work.

Meanwhile, Aris went to the management to collect his pod and also to ask about his salary. But as he advanced to the human resource department, he bumped into someone who was wearing a hooded attire and carrying some boxes, causing the boxes to fall.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't see where I was going," Aris said while helping her pick up the boxes.

The boxes were locked with a padlock, so their contents didn't spill onto the ground.

The hooded person remained silent while bending to pick up the boxes, but as she squatted, her hoodie fell back, revealing her beautiful face.

Her face was designed with the beauty of a goddess, with freckles in all the right places. It was the kind of face that men would fight for.

"It's okay, thanks for helping me pick up my luggage," she said indifferently.

Then, before Aris could recover, she had already walked to the elevator, leaving Aris to say, "Hold up, I wanted to collect your numbe... well, she's gone."

After collecting his pod number as well as his daily salary, which was about 250,000¥, he walked to his team room, ready to start work.
