Chapter 20: Schemes Of The White Lotus
"I won't die yet," Huang Nian said, her voice steady.
"Young Miss, what would you like to eat?" Ye Xiwu asked.
"Just get me hot fried potato snacks with fish sauce," Huang Nian replied.
"I'll be right back," Ye Xiwu said as she left the room.
Ten minutes later, Ye Xiwu returned with the hot fried potatoes and fish sauce. After finishing her meal, Huang Nian picked up Little White, her cat, and headed to the riverside.
As she inhaled the fresh air by the river, Little White's thoughts echoed in her mind.
"Master, the white lotus bitch is coming towards you."Huang Nian knew exactly who Little White was referring to.
"What a coincidence, sister," Huang Ning said, approaching with a feigned smile.
"I don't see that as a coincidence," Huang Nian replied coolly.
"I'll drop the act since you've seen through me. I want the jade ring on your finger," Huang Ning demanded.
"And why should I give it to you?" Huang Nian asked.
"I have my ways of getting it," Huang Ning threatened.
"Then why did you come to me?" Huang Nian inquired, her eyes narrowing.
"I actually thought you would be reasonable and give me the ring," Huang Ning sneered.
"Where's Su Ting? I haven't seen her lately," Huang Nian asked.
"She's my maid. I can do anything I want with her," Huang Ning responded dismissively.
"It seems you're feeling guilty about something," Huang Nian observed, stepping closer.
Huang Ning's expression shifted as she noticed their father, Huang Yuan, approaching with her mother. Seizing the moment, she fell to the ground, making it appear as if Huang Nian had pushed her.
Wen Qipa rushed forward. "Ning Ning, what did you do to offend your elder sister?"
"Mother, I don't know why sister is angry. I only apologized for taking the Crown Prince away from her. Sister, I'm deeply sorry," Huang Ning said, tears streaming down her face.
"Enough!" Huang Yuan shouted, his anger directed at Huang Nian. "Huang Nian, did you try to kill your younger sister? You don't deserve the Crown Prince. You're nothing but a trash."
"Father, I'm sure sister didn't mean to push me," Huang Ning's voice quivered.
"Thanks for reminding me," Huang Nian said, her gaze locking with her father's. "Do you really think I pushed her?"
"There are plenty of reasons for you to push her. If you didn't, then who did?" Huang Yuan demanded.
"I did it. It's interesting to bully weak people, isn't it, little sister?" Huang Nian said, waving dismissively at Huang Ning before walking away.
'What does she mean by that?' Huang Ning wondered, trembling.
"Ning Ning, are you okay?" Huang Yuan asked, concern filling his voice.
'Master, the people in this mansion are so scheming,' Little White's thoughts echoed again in Huang Nian's mind as she nodded in agreement.
Back in her courtyard, Huang Nian lay down and closed her eyes, entering her inner world, The Primordial Phoenix Palace.
"Saintess, welcome," Pei Wu Chen greeted her.
"You wanted to tell me something?" Huang Nian asked.
"Yes, Saintess. This loyal servant suggests that you establish your own force—to sell pills and other rare treasures. I hope you consider my idea," Pei Wu Chen proposed.
"Not a bad idea. I was also thinking of recruiting experts," Huang Nian replied.
"Master, rest assured, you can leave both tasks to me," Pei Wu Chen said confidently.
"I want the Pavilion of Rare Treasures to be located in the Great Tang Dynasty, and I want the force of experts to be in Kunlun Mountain. Also, spread the word that anyone willing to serve me loyally will receive a Qi Purification Pill," Huang Nian instructed.
