The next day.

In the morning, Li Dong took Cao Feng and Cao Yu to Longhua Plaza. When they reached the second floor, both Cao Yu and Cao Feng were feeling a bit apprehensive before entering the supermarket.

Cao Yu nervously said, "Cousin, this supermarket is so huge!"

When Li Dong had mentioned the supermarket, she thought it would be similar to the small shops in their county town. She didn't expect it to be such a large supermarket.

Seeing her anxious expression, Li Dong quickly reassured her, "Whether it's a big supermarket or a small one, it's all the same. It's just about handling transactions. As long as you do your job well, it's fine."

Despite his reassurance, Cao Yu was still unable to control her nerves upon seeing the bustling crowd.

Li Dong noticed this but didn't comment further. He led them towards the office area at the back.

The HR supervisor of the Longhua branch was Zhou Cong.

Having stayed up late the previous night, Zhou Cong was a bit drowsy when he arrived at the office in the morning. Eventually, he could no longer resist his fatigue and, with not much work to do, fell asleep in his office chair.

When Zhou Cong groggily opened his eyes, the sight of Li Dong nearly scared him to death.

"Li… Li General Manager!"

Zhou Cong was on the verge of tears. How could he be so unlucky?

Zhou Cong quickly nodded, trembling as he said, "I'll replace it right away, right away."

Li Dong snorted and said, "Let's leave it at this for now. If it happens again, you know what to do."

Li Dong knew Zhou Cong from before. While Zhou Cong had been diligent when Li Dong was at Longhua, he was caught sleeping during work hours. If it weren't for the current shortage of staff at Yuanfang, Li Dong would have dismissed him immediately. 

Zhou Cong repeatedly nodded, feeling relieved that he had managed to get through this.

Replacing the chair was a minor issue compared to losing his job.

Li Dong, not wanting to waste more time, pointed to the nervous Cao Feng and Cao Yu and instructed, "Help arrange positions for these two. Cao Yu will work as a cashier, and Cao Feng should assist the procurement supervisor."

"Okay, I'll arrange it immediately," Zhou Cong replied, sneaking a glance at the two.

Observing their attire and demeanor, Zhou Cong quickly concluded that since the General Manager himself had brought them over and they weren't dressed very well, they were likely distant relatives.

However, distant relatives were still relatives, so Zhou Cong planned to take good care of them.

Li Dong didn't concern himself with Zhou Cong's thoughts. After giving a few instructions to Cao Feng and Cao Yu, he left.

Recently, Li Dong needed to oversee the company personally to prevent any issues.

As soon as Li Dong left, Zhou Cong breathed a sigh of relief.

Knowing that the two were relatives of the General Manager, he didn't dare to completely relax. First, he invited them to sit down and then removed the boss chair.

After a while, Zhou Cong returned with a plastic stool.

Cao Feng was surprised, "Supervisor Zhou, you really replaced the chair?"

Zhou Cong forced a smile. Whether real or fake, he couldn't afford to take any chances. Even if they weren't present, he wouldn't dare to fake it.

He didn't explain further but smiled, "If you don't mind, I'll register your details."

Cao Feng and Cao Yu had no objections and answered all questions honestly.

Seeing their honesty, Zhou Cong couldn't help but probe, "Are you friends with General Manager Li?"

Cao Feng was about to respond when Cao Yu interrupted, "You mean General Manager Dong?"

Zhou Cong's lips twitched. Since they were already calling him Dongzi, it was clear that their relationship was quite close.

Whether they were friends or relatives, they were people Zhou Cong couldn't afford to offend.

It was no secret that Li Dong was the General Manager. Zhou Cong knew that Li Dong wasn't trying to hide anything, so he replied, "General Manager Li is the owner of the company. The whole supermarket belongs to him."

Cao Feng and Cao Yu exchanged shocked glances.

They were astonished to learn that their cousin owned such a large supermarket. Although they had suspected Li Dong was someone important because he was referred to as "General Manager," they initially thought he was just a high-ranking executive. They hadn't expected him to be the owner, which indicated he must be incredibly wealthy!

After arranging Cao Feng and Cao Yu, Li Dong went to the Yuanfang Building.

As soon as he entered the company, Liu Qi approached him, "General Manager Li, Manager Qi from Fucheng called. He asked if you are going to the Fucheng opening."

Li Dong pondered for a moment, "Do I have any other arrangements that day?"

"Yes, you have an exam scheduled," Liu Qi said with a serious tone that felt somewhat awkward.

Li Dong also felt it was awkward and responded, "Is there anything else besides the exam?"

Liu Qi shook her head.

Li Dong thought for a moment and said, "Forget the exam for now. I need to be present at the Fucheng opening. With seven stores opening and Sun Tao not around, I'm worried Manager Qi won't be able to handle it alone."

Li Dong shook his head, realizing that he had once vowed to be a good student, yet now he was skipping the exam. He felt he was undermining the very concept of being a good student.

After Li Dong finished, Liu Qi continued, "Previously, you mentioned opening community and convenience stores. The market department has completed the research, and the locations have been selected. They were just asking when construction will start."

"As soon as possible. The renovations for community and convenience stores should be simple. Aim for an early opening."

"The merchandise department has arranged a major promotion before summer vacation…"

"Let the merchandise department handle it themselves as long as they don't lose money."

"The HR department asked whether the new college graduates should be sent to branches for internships or continue training at the headquarters…"

"Send some to Fucheng and others to participate in the construction of convenience and community stores."

"The logistics department's Director Qin wants to buy a vehicle…"

Liu Qi smirked, noting that it was only in other companies that the bosses had such leisurely lives.
