The next day unfolded much like any other's. I followed my usual routine, attending classes and enduring the usual disruptions. Strangely, though, Annabel seems to have given up after she found a new boyfriend and I found myself feeling slightly less agitated than before.
After our first class, I decided to go to the rest room, stepping into the rest room I was shocked when I saw one of the boys sucking hard on Jenny as she foolishly moun to it with her eyes closed After some seconds of being in the rest room with them, I decided to go out but then she turned sharply with her eyes opened seeing me in shock.
"Emily," she called, but I turned back leaving.
"You think I don't know the reason why you're ignoring me, huh?" she asked, smiling, making me stop as she buttoned up her clothes. What's wrong with this girl? I always ignored her.
"I know it's because of Jack. You're in love with him too," she said, making me turn back at her.
"Who wants your boyfriend?" I retorted, already feeling irritated.
"You can't even deny it. We all know that everybody wants Jack, including you," she insisted.
I don't have time for this, and it's not my business; you can make it with all the guys in school. but I don't care. So stay the fuck away from me I said firmly
"Well, you're not wrong. Jack is a good guy but you know I can't just be with one guy. It's really hard," she said, smiling provocatively.
"You shameless bitch," I spat.
"Whatever," she said before leaving.
After school, I returned home, together with faith, feeling exhausted. Once in my room, I followed my routine: undressing, taking a quick bath, and grabbing something to eat.
"Hi," I heard Jack's voice interrupt my peace, but I chose to ignore him. He had avoided me in school, so why bother acknowledging him now?
"Why are you ignoring me?" he persisted, his tone laced with curiosity, but I remained silent, continuing to ignore him.
"I saw you and Jenny talking. You must be close," he observed, prompting me to finally turn and face him.
"Well, your little girlfriend was just telling me how she sleeps with other guys apart from you," I retorted, unable to contain my frustration, which unexpectedly elicited a laugh from him.
"You joke too much," he replied, a smile playing on his lips, which only fueled my irritation.
"You think I would even want to joke with you in the first place? You don't know Jenny.
" You don't even like her, and besides, yes, she slept with guys and all that before, and I did too. But now she has changed. Don't let someone's past decide the label you would put on them," he reasoned, surprising me with his defense of Jenny
"I would laugh when you find her cheating on you," I shot back, my words laced with a mix of mockery and resentment.
"Bitch," he muttered under his breath before abruptly shutting his window, leaving me seething with frustration and confusion.
No, he didn't just do that.
Okay, he just did. I said to myself as my phone started ringing. Kelvin was on the phone. I wasn't surprised when the phone started ringing as I stepped out to answer the phone
"Hello jack
Hi Emily I just wanted to know if you could go out on a date with me tonight
No no no never, I said
Come on Emily, it's just a date though technically a party but It won't kill you," he said
"No," I firmly refused. Partying? Never again. After what happened in the past, I made a vow never to repeat the experience. Plus, my parents would never allow it.
After all l Kelvin's pleading, I still didn't agree, though I assured him that I was gonna think about it. The thought of partying again sent shivers down my spine; I'd made a vow to myself to steer clear of such events. The memories of that first and only party still haunted me, but that's a tale for another time.
Getting back to my room, I dropped to the bed, feeling drained from the day's events.
After resting for some time, I changed into new clothes and fired up my laptop; I know you all must be thinking I only read well. I don't spend all my time buried in books; I enjoy watching movies too.
"Hi," I heard, causing me to turn and find Jack standing by his window.
"Hey," I replied.
"So... you're dating Kelvin?" he inquired.
I stared at him, feeling hot, trying to process what he had just said. Was he joking or being serious?
"I don't understand why you're asking me this question," I replied, feeling a mixture of confusion and irritation.
"I just wanted to be sure of something because it seems like you're exhibiting the behavior you labeled on my girlfriend," he continued, his words making my frown deepen.
"Excuse me?" I retorted, taken aback by his accusation.
"Yeah, a whore. I saw you together with Kelvin kissing, and you aren't even dating, so... that means you're a whore," he stated.
"Are you out of your mind? What the fuck are you spouting? Did you see me kiss him? Kelvin was just on the phone with me you dummy.
"Exactly what a whore would say," he responded plainly.
"You know what? Fuck you.Do whatever you want with your boring life. It's none of my business," I snapped.
"Boring life? We all know you're the one with the boring life here," he countered.
"I can make it interesting if I want to tonight," I shot back, a surge of defiance coursing through me.
"Very funny. How can you when you can't leave your book," he scoffed, catching me off guard.
"Says who? Kelvin invited me to a date, and I was still thinking about it, but I think I had enough for a night, so... I'm going," I declared, with determination in my voice as I slammed the window to his face. What a dick ...
