The trip was just a day away, and Inna could barely contain her excitement. She found herself unable to focus on anything else, her mind racing with thoughts of what awaited her. She spent hours scrolling through her phone, looking up places to visit, foods to try, and reviews from others who had already been there. Every few minutes, she'd let out a little squeal of anticipation, her excitement growing by the second.
Meanwhile, Jimin was also feeling excited, but his thoughts were split. He was focused on his studies, knowing he couldn't let his grades slip, even with the trip so close. "If I fall behind, my mom might not let me go on another trip," he thought, keeping his head in his books. The pressure of maintaining his grades loomed over him, but he was determined to prove he could balance both.
As Jimin was studying, his mom called from the kitchen, "Jimin, come eat your lunch!"
"Okay, Mom," Jimin replied.
He placed his books aside and made his way to the dining table.
While Jimin was eating, the familiar beep of the door unlocking echoed through the house. He glanced toward the door just as his mom said, "Oh, your dad must be home."
Jimin's dad walked in, returning from a business trip, looking slightly tired but alert. He dropped his bags by the door and entered the dining area. "So, how's your studying going, Jimin?" his dad asked, not even waiting for a proper greeting.
Before Jimin could respond, his mom interjected with a serious tone. "Honey, you just got home, and Jimin is still eating. Can't we discuss this later?"
Jimin's dad frowned. "So you're telling me it's not important?"
His mom sighed, trying to keep things calm. "I'm not saying that."
Crossing his arms, Jimin's dad shook his head. "Kids these days should be focused on nothing but their studies. We need to remind them of that, constantly."
Jimin's mom fell silent, choosing not to argue further.
