Chapter 16: Loss

Sebastian’s POV

I hadn’t seen her coming. One moment, I was checking to see if she was hurt, and the next moment, she shoved me to the floor and climbed on top of me with a small knife pointed at my neck. Where had she gotten the knife?

“I did it!” she shouted. “I finally beat you!.” before I knew it, she was laughing, still on top of me.

I couldn't help but laugh, too. She had executed that perfectly, and I was proud of her.

Suddenly, without warning, she made to stand, but her legs were still wobbly, and she lost her balance, collapsing back onto me. It happened so fast. The warmth of her body against mine was almost shocking, but what followed left me completely dumbfounded. Her lips pressed onto mine, and I felt a jolt of shock. I pulled back slightly, trying to make sense of the softness that had just touched my lips.
