After that day, Sebastian never brought up my past again. The question, the doubt that lingered in his eyes, remained unspoken. I couldn’t tell if I had successfully laid rest to his suspicions or if he was simply choosing not to bring up the matter, but it was a relief. All I had to do now was keep my distance from him, from those piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through me. Yet, in the sprawling campus of Thunderclap Military College, avoidance was a game I could only play for so long.
