Scamming

The car came to a halt as Cassie's head went out of the open window. She panted as she took a few seconds to get in a good state and then got off the car.

"Aghh! My leg!!"

Cassie stopped in her place as she heard the familiar voice, her heart stopped for a second as she sprinted to the other side of the car. Her mind still filed with that voice as she thought, 'Austin! What is he doing here? Did I hit him?'

She soon reached the man she had hit and found the handsome hunk rolling on the ground, holding his right knee and screaming in pain. Cassie felt her heart getting heavy hearing the agony filled voice and ran towards Austin.

Austin seemed to have heard her footsteps as he began to curse, "You damned rich fuckers! Can't you see while you drive while being drunk? My leg is all— huh! Cassie?"

Austin blinked in surprised as he forgot about the pain and simply stared at her. Cassie also stopped and narrowed her eyes at Austin and especially his knee he was crying out loud for.

"Hoo! Weren't you screaming for you leg?" Cassie crouched down and touched Austin's knee, having a smile on her face.

Austin gulped and tried to smile while answering, "Yes! But it seems like it's not that injured. I may have overreacted in the heat of moment."

Cassie hummed but didn't buy his words. She flicked his knee making him groan in pain and shook her head, "Why are you pretending? Your leg is clearly fine!"

"It's not! You slammed your car on me and it bent on abnormal angles," Austin cried out, as if he was being accused of a crime he didn't commit.

"I see, then let me check. I know a few things about human body," Cassie said, as she rolled his pants up to look at his knee. She touched it and felt the muscles around it.

'He is not completely lying. There are some internal injuries but they should be healed in a few days. Unfortunately, knowing this guy he will overreact once again!'

Cassie looked around and noticed they were in a dead of night with empty roads. She held Austin's hand and began to drag him to the side.

"Hey! Hey! This is my only branded pants! What if it gets ripped apart?" Austin shouted as he looked in horror at his pants.

Cassie's lips twitched as she said, "I'll buy you new one, idiot. Now shut your mouth!"

After coming to the sides, Cassie made Austin sit and also sat down. Austin checked his knees a few times and nodded as he said, "It's not as bad as I thought."

Cassie rolled her eyes and asked, "So, how did you end up here? Weren't you going to your home?"

Austin pointed at somethings that were scattered around on the road and said, "My landlord kicked me out because I didn't have money."

Cassie was speechless, looking at the suitcase and some other things along with a bag. She sighed and asked, "So, where were you going?"

"Hmm? I was planning to spend tonight in open and then go to find a job tomorrow. Nothing new," Austin yawned and dropped his back on the grass.

Cassie was a little shocked at how casual everything was to Austin and thought, 'Does he really need to go through these things often?'

She could understand him to some degree but also found his actions ridiculous. He could obviously land a good job but he never did. He would rather work in bars than a proper job.

"Why didn't you dodge?" Cassie asked.

"Eh? What are you talking about?"

Cassie narrowed her eyes and pinched his knee where he was hurt, making him scream in pain...of course, it was all acting and she could see that.

"I saw that, you know. You could have dodged but you didn't. Why?" Cassie asked, having her hand on his knees.

"Oh, I was just trying to teach a lesson to rich people who drives recklessly," Austin smiled and answered.

"By scamming them? You didn't have money for now so you were planning to scam me by shouting your injuries," Cassie smiled.

Austin looked at her smile for a few seconds before sighing and saying, "Yeah. I mean, I saw your car and knew it was of someone rich so no problem in scamming rich."

Cassie facepalmed and stayed silent as she looked at his injured leg, 'He won't be able to find a decent job...well, atleast from what he prefers in such conditions.'

Cassie thought for a few seconds and then looked at Austin's face. He was as handsome as ever with his dark as moonless night hair.

"Hmm, Austin, how will you like a life where you can be as lazy as you want and do whatever you want?" Cassie asked in a even tone.

"Like? That's literally my dream. I just want a nice sweet life full of laziness," Austin smiled as he imagined a life like that and his smile just got wider.

"Hmm, can you cook?" Cassie asked in interest.

"If I say I'm the second best chef in the world, no one can claim to be first," Austin smirked and said. "Cooking is something I'm most confident of."

'And yet you never worked in a bakery or restaurant,' Cassie rolled her eyes and asked, "How about cleaning house stuff and all?"

"Oh, the Questionable People Thrashing Lady, please have mercy and tell me why you're asking so many questions? Also, yes i can do that too," Austin asked as he looked at her weirdly

Cassie was going to say something when she thought of something and ran to her car. After a few seconds, she returned and gave a water bottle to Austin, "Here, you must be thirsty, right?"

"Yes, sort of," Austin mumbled, looking at the water bottle in suspicion. In the end, he just shrugged and began to drink the water.

'Perfect timing,' Cassie smiled and asked, "So, Mister Austin, will you like me as your sugar mommy?"

Austin spit out all the water he was drinking as Cassie smiled in triumph.
