The Beginning of an End (The Fallout)

A beautiful orange sky and children's waves of laughter, the

gentle breeze, and the illuminating light from the skies cast an orange

radiance to the landscape. Suddenly birds chirp loudly, birds group up strangely,

and screams are heard from a distance, sirens echoing, cars honking, children

crying, and the intimidating breeze. I still remember that day as clear as the

sun. All the screens in the city glitch out and I gasp, then there's writing on

the screen. "There has been an emergency, take shelter immediately! People continue

to gossip. Missiles go off. People's screaming is echoing. Sirens can be heard

close by. "EVERYONE REMAIN CALM WE HAVE A SHELTER ONE BAG PER FAMILY AND FOLLOW

US!" The police officer shouted. I was in shock and disbelief. "Alicia let's

get out of here!!!" Seth yelled. "To where!?" I cried. "How are we so sure staying

in that shelter will protect us from all these missiles!?" I cried. Car

honking. "OUT OF MY WAY!!!" a man yelled. "Watch out!" Seth yelled. People were

running in a hurry not knowing where to go. "Seth!" I cried. "Move!". Me and

Seth both tripped "Ow!" I screamed. Both of us kept getting trampled on! Seth

got up, "Get up we must go!" Seth yelled. I got up and We ran where everyone

was headed! Gates were closing. "Wait don't close them yet!", the police

officer shouted. "Seth hurry up!" the police officer yelled. "Thanks, man",

Seth showed his gratitude. "Let's go Alicia!", As Seth grabbed my hand, "Wait!

What about Mom, Dad, Stiley, and Ray?". I questioned. "Just get in!" Seth

scolded. The gates close. "What is this place?" I whispered. "It's a bunker,"

Seth whispered. "Seth my phone signals are not working!". I whispered. "We're

underground, that's why," Seth explained.                         It was completely different from what I

imagined a bunker would be like, I thought it would be nice and have the smell

of new basements, and have a kitchen, a bedroom, and nicely decorated walls.

What I saw was the opposite. It was like I was in a cave; the walls and the

ground were rock-hard. It looked like the underground train tracks that I saw

in the games I played; it had tiny lights that reminded me of streetlights that

I saw at nighttime. "Seth, I miss everyone," I whispered. "Do you hear that,

Alicia?" Seth whispered. "Hear what?". I asked. A sudden and powerful rush of

air creates a loud noise. A sound so loud, it makes it difficult to hear.
