The Fallout: Aftermath

2 days later...it was all dark and my ears were ringing, what happened? I can't

remember, I slowly open my eyes, and my body feels very weak. A lot of children

crying could be heard, it was echoing inside the dark bunkers. The lights

stopped working. My ears felt very weak, and my head hurt all over! "Excuse

me." A woman approaches me. "Your head is bleeding." says panickily. "Huh?", I

panic. She hands over the bandages to me. "Thank you", I say. I scream, I can

feel all the stares at me. "Seth! Where is Seth?!", I cry. "If you're talking

about the young man with you, he went with the military 1 day ago." The lady

says. "May I ask you something ma'am, why is everyone hurt? We were inside a

bunker!" I shouted. "The thing is a nuclear bomb went off." " the lady

sighs. "Wait are you saying the east went that far?!" I respond in disbelief.

"Alicia?" a familiar voice. "Seth?!" I shouted in relief. "Can you see me, Alicia,

how many fingers am I holding? Can you hear me?", Seth worried. "I'm good, but

what are you wearing?" I question Seth. "This is an oxygen mask the air is

really bad outside!". Seth answers. "Seth, I've been looking for you! I thought

you died man!", The police officer from earlier says. "Maeve! Man, I thought

you were dead too!", Seth worries. Maeve? That's Seth's friend he always talked

about, the guy who he worked with. He is also the guy who opened the gate for

us and let us in the bunkers, I thought to myself. "Alicia, you got to stay

here alright? I will come back to get you. It's just that humans are on the

brink of extinction! " Seth promised. As Seth says goodbye I stop him. "Seth!",

he looks back, "What about Mom, Dad, Stiley, and Ray?!" I look at him. He looks

at me with a sad look and avoids me, then he leaves.

2nyears later..." Seth thanks to you we're making a little bit of progress." He speaks.

"Of course, anything to restore the earth," I answered. "All alright you can

go." He insists. "Wait, sir!" I told him to wait. ", have you heard anything

about my parents and siblings yet?" I ask. "Look, Seth, I already told you

it's going to take years to find them, and it's not like we have enough food

and water supply for them." He whispers. "What did you say?" I ask. "Never

mind." I changed my mind. I close the door and sigh. The world is disastrous.

"Seth,

you're back!", I say. "How's it going, Alicia?" Seth says. Seth looked pale. He

looked exhausted and tired. The world was covered in smoke and there were too

many wildfires. The radiation from the bombs caused cancer and other health

problems. The fire released soot and other pollutants into the atmosphere,

which blocked the sun and caused a nuclear winter. The nuclear winter caused

crops to fail and led to widespread famine. The global economy is collapsing.

The loss of life led to chaos. Why would someone cause a nuclear war, no one

won, there's only losers. There's no electricity, limited medicine, and no

travel, the conditions are like in the 17th century. We formed an

organization, "Anti-Nuclear". The anti-nuclear organization is currently

finding missing people, they provide medication and have talented engineers and

scientists. Our goal is to prevent nuclear fallout. You must think we're crazy

right? But I'm writing this in 2035, 10 years after "that day". When I was

about 17, I got a letter "from Alicia". None other than the 29-year-old Alicia,

who is writing this right now. But since you're reading this right now, it

worked, right?
