When the airplane landed, they walked through the terminal, the quiet hum of the crowd around them. Madisyn felt an odd discomfort creeping in as she walked next to Ethan. It was as if everyone's eyes were drawn to him first, then flickered over to her, trying to piece together who she was.

Ethan, on the other hand, seemed oblivious, likely used to this kind of attention. His calm demeanor only deepened the awkwardness that swirled inside her. He was in his element, while she felt exposed, uncertain. She even worried the next day she would finds herself in the a magazine's cover but luckily she didn't spot anyone snapping at them pictures.

She sighed, hoping the entire vacation wouldn't be like that.
