Chapter 12

Lucas walked back into the room just as the man entered with a suit. Avery took the black suit and went into the changing room beside the main room to change.

When she emerged, Lucas was stunned; she looked like an effeminate young master, the suit hugging her figure perfectly. He quickly averted his gaze.

The man clapped in appreciation, saying, "It's perfect."

Avery smiled, relieved that they hadn't noticed anything off with her.

"Change. We're leaving," Lucas said curtly before striding out of the room. She looked at his back, confused, then shrugged and went to remove the suit.

Afterward, he bought her footwear before they drove back to the mansion in the city, arriving at 7:20 p.m.

"We are leaving in ten minutes," He said as he walked directly into his building. Avery nodded at his back, then flashed into her building.

She dropped the suit on the bed and quickly changed out of her clothes. After freshening up in seconds and wrapping a new bandage around her chest, concealing her breast perfectly. Her pale back was covered in bruises from her bath, which were disappearing gradually.

She changed back into the suit and combed her hair, making her black wig look glossy, as if it were her real hair.

Just as she was about to leave her room, her work phone rang. She took it from her weapon suitcase and read the message.

"Target> Male. Aaron Grace."

"Species> Half-Blood Fairy."

"Location> Sea Estate, City A."

"Capture alive."

Avery's aura changed, her eyes sharpening. She clicked on the map and sent the target's location on her personal phone.

Bending down, she selected a gun with iron bullets and a silencer. She loaded the gun and holstered it in her ankle, the suit concealing it perfectly.

Eleven minutes later, she walked to the garage to find Lucas waiting for her with an emotionless expression. His piercing gaze made her stiffen, aware she was a minute late.

"Let's go," He said, looking away as he got into the car. She slid into the front seat.

The driver, sensing the tension, drove out silently. The two-hour journey was uneventful and silent.

The car pulled into an open parking lot beside the ocean. A huge ship was anchored there, lit up against the night sky.

The moonlight shimmered on the water, and a salty breeze stirred ripples on the water's surface.

Avery noticed several expensive cars parked nearby, with more arriving.

"Wow! That's the politician from the news. And that's the leading star in the industry. Ahh! Is that the oil Baron? Damn, she is amid calibers and opulent people." Her mind was active, but her expression remained calm, though her eyes were alert.

She saw a red dot on the map sent to her phone, confirming that her target was there. Putting her phone away, she followed Lucas onto the ship, where music played, wine glass clicked, and guests exchanged greetings and networked, sticking instant deals.

Glittering silver lights illuminated the room, which was dripping with opulence. People from all works of life, including supernatural creatures, were gathered here tonight. Women wore priceless jewelry and glittering vogue dresses, while the men sported brooches and expensive wristwatches.

Lucas was exchanging pleasantries with his business partners while Avery stood beside him like a wallpaper that had the perfect polite smile.

"Lucas, boy, it seems you changed that your old PA for some fresh blood," a cheerful loud voice came from the side, she saw an older handsome man, who had the Mafia daddy vibes going for him.

He greeted Lucas with a heavy pat on the back, Lucas's polite smile turned genuine when he saw the man.

"Old man, you're still kicking? You reek of alcohol- does your wife know?'' Lucas battered jokingly, making the man glance around nervously.

Breathing a sigh of relief, "Boy don't fear this old man. When are you going to make me a godfather? You're thirty and still single..." The man continued dramatically, making Avery feel she was listening to Luca's secret. Her eyes drifted below his waist, and she had a skeptical expression. Maybe he can't do it.

Lucas noticed her odd expression and seemed to guess her thoughts. A vein throbbed in his forehead, his mouth twitching from anger.

He was bombarded by his mentor and father figure about marriage and kids, and wished he could vanish before this old man said anything more outrageous.

A weird thought crossed through Grey's mind. He looked at the fair-skinned young man beside Lucas, raising his brows thoughtfully.

Just as he was about to speak, a familiar presence appeared behind him. "Grey, is that alcohol I smell on you? Hmm..." A soothing female voice rang out and a gorgeous woman appeared suddenly in their presence.

The woman looked young but had a wise aura surrounding her. Her black hair flowed down her back, and her red eyes stared at her husband, who stiffened in place.

"Good evening Auntie, the old man, downed five glasses," Lucas said, selling the old man out, Grey held his chest in shock- boy, why'd you throw me under the bus?

"Ohh..." The woman drawled dryly, making the old man shiver in fear. Avery watched in interest.

The woman's gaze flickered to Avery for a fleeting moment, as if she recognized something familiar in her face. But she dismissed the thought and dragged her husband away by the ear.

The people who knew them smiled, knowing that Grey was a handpicked man, who loved his wife to death. A vampire and a weretiger - a strange combination.

"You can look around. I need to chat with my associates," Lucas said to Avery, who nodded in response. Under his gaze, she blended into the crowd.

Avery's smile dropped, checking her phone, she found her target's position, leaving the room and following the locator, she moved to a secluded hallway, blending into the stillness of the night. She removed her lenses making her red pupil glow in the dark.
