034 A God Is Coming

"Miss, we have reached the destination." A voice came from outside the carriage, waking Esper from her thoughts. She opened her purple eyes, her gaze immediately falling on Lilith, who was leaning on Aurelius.

A complicated look developed on her face as she looked at the duo, 'Control yourself, Esper. Act according to the plan.'

She then turned away, opened the door, and got off.

Aurelius watched Esper get off the board and pull away from Lilith. "Let's go," he said to her as he and Lilith got off the carriage.

He looked around his surroundings; they were currently standing in front of a building. The thick scent of salt filled the humid air, indicating that they were now near the sea.

The building itself was not that impressive, with a big lobby filled with check-in counters. Behind it was the harbor, filled with ships of various sizes.

The coachman, after ensuring that the trio had gotten off, said, "Miss, please go in; the staff will guide you to the ship."

The carriage then went away, back to the hotel. Esper then turned toward Lilith and said, "Follow me."

The trio walked into the building. The insides were not as luxurious as the hotels, as any kind of fragrance would only make it worse, mixing with the smell of salt.

They walked toward one of the many check-in desks.

The receptionist looked up at the trio, who were now standing in front of the desk. "How may I help you, miss?"

Esper didn't say anything and handed the tickets to the receptionist lady.

The receptionist took the tickets and checked their authenticity before she stood up from her seat. "Follow me," she said with a polite bow.

The trio followed the lady toward the backside of the building; with each step they took, the saltiness in the air became heavier and stuck to their skin.

The lady then opened the door, leading to the harbor.

Aurelius squinted his eyes as he looked up at the glaring sun; he could hear the sailors yelling at each other, readying the ships for their departure.

"The ship you are going to board is right over there," the lady pointed out to the biggest ship in the dock.

It was long and big, with a black hull and a white interior. A golden painting of a mermaid ran across the hull. Thick ropes swayed in the wind as they held the ship from drifting away.

The lady escorted them near the ship, where there were three entrances to the ship.

One of the entries had a rough-looking sailor sitting behind a wooden table. In front of him was a long line of passengers—poor passengers.

Aurelius watched the line curiously. "They could be my potential targets until I can convert people above level 30," he mumbled to himself.

The crowd in the line came from various walks of life and also belonged to various races.

Many were demons, with twin or single horns on their foreheads; some were demi-humans, with tails and animal ears, and fur on their skin.

Some were humans, families shifting to find a new life on another continent; criminals trying to escape the government.

Aurelius's gaze darted toward the second line, which was less crowded and more presentable; it had three women standing in front of the entry with professionally fake smiles on their faces.

They were not rude to the people in the line, nor were they extremely polite. Most of the people in the line were small-time business owners or merchants, traveling to do business in the demon continent. They were in finer clothes than the people from the first line.

Aurelius's eyes scanned the line in the second entry; a glint flashed across his eyes as he noticed some potential targets: 'After I am able to convert people above 30, I will focus on them.'

Aurelius decided to focus more on the people from the second line as there might be someone who could be useful to him, 'And they are not as important to put me in the spot light.'

He then turned straight, looking at the red carpet he was walking on—the third line, where only the wealthy and influential reside.

'I should focus only on one or two women from here; any more, and I would get unwanted attention.'

There was not much of a line at the third entry point as the trio were the only passengers that Aurelius could see.

There were a few very beautiful women waiting for them to arrive at the entry point of the ship; they wore expensive maid clothes and were of many races: demons, humans, and demi humans.

All of them had a very bright smile on their faces as they waited for the trio to arrive.

"""Welcome, guests!!""" The women bowed as they greeted the trio. Esper glanced at them impassively while the lady who escorted them handed the tickets to one of the women.

Lilith, too, watched the women with an indifferent look on her face; the massive ship, the beautiful women—none of it mattered to her as her mind was already imagining spending time with her lord.

Aurelius, however, was in a daze as he looked up, staring at the ship. This was it; there was no turning back now.

Looming over him was the ticket to the land of Goliaths. From now on, he was going to be an ant in front of giants, but the question was: will he thrive like David, or get crushed like bug?

'No! I will neither be the underdog David nor be crushed like a bug!' His deep blue eyes shone with resolve, greed, and pride.

'I will become the biggest giant out there! The titan towering over the giants. I will become the god who gave David his strength! I will make that land—and every woman in it—scream my name and proclaim to the world that I am their master! Their God!'

Determination and confidence surged through his heart, thumping like a war drum, warning the world of its future—A God was coming to their lands, and he would not be benevolent.
