A God's Remnant

The atmosphere became much more awkward during the dinner. None of them had any intention of beginning the conversation, so everyone just ate in silence.

Both Veronica and Michael giggled to themselves every few minutes, which deeply confused the other two.

Amanda felt like the two of them were communicating without talking. She heard rumors about Items, that made talking between minds possible.

After a few minutes of this, she finally had enough, and decided to ask.

"What are you two laughing about?"

The couple looked at each other. Veronica had a questioning look in her eyes, while Michael just shrugged. A few seconds later, she just sighed and shook her head.

"It's nothing, just my brother constantly making jokes about your grumpy personality."

Amanda raised an eyebrow and looked around their table, but nobody else was nearby. She then frowned and spoke in a whisper.

"Is he a ghost or something? Is he hiding somewhere?"
