Before Gorlab was completely dismantled he was able to break blade of the Reapers scythe... 

Gorlab's hand would fuse with the blade,  creating a black scythe... able to cut without cutting... 

The Scythe was lost in the void... 
Until 1959..

Rondo Newman is an ex-Marine that lost his mind after War II becoming a ruthless assassin killing dictators. He was caught and sentenced to life in prison for his crimes. Leaving back his ill wife who was expecting a baby would pass alone. Rondo allowed himself to go mad, getting into fights and trying to escape. He was sold by Big City to a mysterious Organization run by people with blue skin and yellow hair. They would hold a bunch people captive while they ran strange tests that involved Black Blood being incited into the subjects' veins. The reactions were either supernatural or fatal. Rondo is one of the many unfortunate test subjects that would be an experiment gone as wrong as possible. Rondo is injected, his veins fills black. He hears voices, everything goes dark. A demon, with purple stringy hair emerges. Rondo is prompted to grab a scythe made of shadows. He grips the scythe... A power engulfs Rondo, he is not himself anymore. Now just a skull mask inside a shadow cloak. He is Demon Scythe, here to eat the souls of those not using theirs.

Demon Scythe Volume One

The Beeston Family house is bombarded with countless cloaked followers trying to break in to the cozy town house...

Mr. Beeston shooting followers with his shot gun blocking the door to Emily's room. Mrs. Beeston is holding a 13 year old Emily's in her arms. The followers overwhelm Mr.Beeston, all starting to stab him to death. Mrs. Beeston and Emliy hug tight as they can hear Mr. Beeston cry out in agony.

Then a loud explosion rumbles the home...

As a blade sounding like wind cutting through bodies. Then the sounds stop...

Its Rondo. He enters the room. "It's you, you're the reason my mom died," Emily screams.

Rondo trying to reach out for her as she smacks his hand way, she then runs and lock herself in the closet. Mrs. Beeston looks at Rondo with bewildered eyes.

"You must be Rondo Newmen," She assumes. "Yeah, I am," he sulks.

The streets are full of followers mindlessly walking towards Emily's house.

"Show no Mercy, " Gorlab's voice projects.

In Emily's room Rondo sit by the closet door. "Emily I'm sorry, I'm sorry I put you and your mom through so much," Rondo says.

"I can't change what happened, but right now there are some people that wish to hurt you and I'm not gonna let that happen, so I'm here for you," Emily cracks the door open. She quickly comes out the closet and hugs Rondo.

"Daddy, I'm so scared," She cries.

"Don't be Daddy got you, Rondo's voice now sounding like Gorlab's.

Emily pushes away running to Mrs.Beeston who now has her husband's shot gun.

"A sentimental moment always make it easy to possess someone," boasts Gorlab.

"Rondo come back to me," he yells.

"Haha, he's mine now," Gorlab answers.

They run downstairs past a massacre of bodies. The House is surrounded.They quickly shut the door pushing the couch in front of it. More followers try breaking into window.

Jaden is dodging all of Demon Scythe's strikes, the room is damaged with slice marks everywhere. Jaden takes a cut to the arm but is able to grab Demon Scythe. He meditates, bright lights surround them before they explode...

"Gorlab possessed you, I brought you here to cancel the connection for now," Explains Jaden.

"Sacrifice yourself," Says Lucian.
