42: Stands... no. Just Ki projection.

"Yamcha's technique is so weird." Goku scratched his head and read the document on the tablet in his hand.

"It was created according to the ideas of the 'Wolf School, ' but Yamcha improved it. He seems to have a very good talent for creating techniques," Bulma said, stopping reading the tablet in her hand.

"But... it seems to be quite suitable for us, doesn't it? I already want to create my own Ki projection," Chi-Chi commented, who had stopped studying magic for today to pay attention to this technique.

Since yesterday, when Master Roshi showed his new technique and the use of the image of Genbu, the Black Turtle of mythology, to create a powerful technique, Bulma's group became interested in this knowledge.

So Yamcha and Gohan wrote a document together, which was sent to the teenagers a few hours ago. Bulma read the contents several times to memorize them and realized that this technique could work quite well with her and Goku.

All because they could use their 'other selves' hidden in their souls as the basis for the projection. But Goku was a little confused about this, and not surprisingly, he learned more by imitation than by study.

If one could say what was the most outstanding talent Goku possessed? The answer would be simple: Imitation. He imitated the Kame Hame Ha by seeing it only once, he imitated the Hakai of the God of Destruction without even using the 'Ultra Ego.'

So, Goku's imitation talent was not in doubt. Then Bulma decided to be the first to use this technique, because along with the crude method that Goku had to draw power from his Ozaru form, a method that she had learned, Bulma had the idea that she could make certain progress in the development of her natural abilities.

Bulma closed her eyes. This technique, simply called 'Ki Projection,' blended concepts such as meditation, mental space, and mental totem, which are basic concepts of Ki.

Meditation was easy to think about; it was to enter a state of relaxation and introspection, and anyone could do it. Depending on the purpose, meditation has different methods and purposes, but anyone can meditate.

When you imagine, when you think, when you hear the voice in your head, when you read something, all of that is in your mental space. Only when a person trained their mind could they use this metaphysical place in their mind to do incredible things.

Mages, psychics, and martial artists often used the mind space because it was so useful. Even martial artists could arrange mental 'encounters' where they could chat or fight with another person in a 'realistic' way.

The mental totem was perhaps more of an occult concept for people, something that was used in certain meditation methods. Imagine something concrete, it can be a marble, a flame, a rock, whatever.

As you meditate, you focus on that object, outlining its details, imprinting it completely in your mental space, to the point where you can evoke it without having to outline all of its complicated details.

It has been used a lot to keep the mind busy and calm, improve the will, etc. Anyone can use this type of meditation, but for a martial artist, it is key to using certain techniques.

So Yamcha's technique was a kind of deepening of these three methods, integrating them deeply and mixing them with Ki, a versatile energy, though very difficult for its users to explore.

That's why derivatives like Magic or Psion were more 'visually interesting' while Ki is generally just energy beams. But as integrated systems are highly interdependent, things from one side are applied to the other.

Perhaps because he grew up with Puar, Yamcha integrated some ideas of psychic power into the technique so that when you created your ki projection, a person could manifest that construct outwardly.

Bulma skipped a few steps, or well, she had already done them before, so she quickly opened her eyes. Both Goku and Chi-Chi felt something huge and strange looking at them, so they focused on Bulma.

Behind the blue-haired girl, a very blurry image appeared; it was a naked woman covered with wings. Wings on her temples, several wings on her back, wings on her waist, wings on her wrists and ankles.

These wings were similar to feathers, but some of them looked more like leaves imitating feathers than real feathers. This being's hair was blue, like Bulma's, but it had a vine-like appearance.

The figure was curled up around Bulma. Its massive body exuded an unusual pressure, even if it wasn't looking at the two young men. Goku and Chi-Chi felt that a superior being was watching them intently; they even noticed... curiosity.

"Wow..." was all Goku could say when he saw this projection, and his words caught the attention of this being, who looked up and looked into Goku's eyes.

At that moment, Goku felt something connect with him, and deep within him, an angry and proud presence emerged and roared outward. From Goku's body, the roar inevitably came out of his mouth, causing the living room to shake.

"Monkey," an ethereal voice came out of Bulma's projection, with a voice similar to hers, but Goku could only look at the ground, avoiding the deep purple eyes of this being.

"He didn't like it when you looked at him," Goku said, understanding the reason for the scream he had unintentionally let out.

"Funny," the projection burst out laughing, and with his laughter, everyone felt that the atmosphere had become warmer and more humid, similar to a tropical area.

"Is this Sister Bulma's other self? She's quite beautiful," Chi-Chi said, curiously approaching the projection.

As if in appreciation of Chi-Chi's comment, the hand of the projection approached the young girl's body, trying to touch her head, but her energy body did not have much integrity or solidity, so it pierced Chi-Chi's body.

"Are you Bulma?" Goku asked, feeling strange about the way this projection was acting, so his body tensed, being alert.

"Yes," the projection replied, noticing Goku's emotions before looking at Bulma's body, who had her eyes closed as she controlled this projection.

"You seem to have a hard time talking through the projection. I didn't see that application in the paper," Chi-Chi commented, and Bulma's projection nodded.

For Bulma, using this projection to perform was a very new experience... and somewhat disturbing. She never forgot that the 'Plant' creatures were technically dimensional beings, and even though her version had wings that looked like leaves or vine hairs, it didn't change the basic fact.

They were not beings of this plane. Their view of the world was very strange, and talking to them was very difficult for Bulma because the way the Plants experienced the world was different from humans.

Of course, she could sense this difference because she could not control this power; she could only evoke a small hint of it. It was like when Goku was in an uproar when he transformed into Ozaru because he had not yet mastered the power that lay within him.

Bulma assumed that when she could master that power, her vision and actions would match her own without feeling stiff or strange. But even this uncomfortable feeling gave Bulma some inspiration.

Only, since it was the first time she used this technique, and she was drawing on the power of her Plant version, her mental energy was being used up rather quickly, so soon the projection began to become more and more transparent, until it finally disappeared.

Bulma opened her eyes, feeling dizzy and almost stumbling, but Chi-Chi caught her and prevented her older sister from falling. When Bulma felt that she could stand up on her own, she patted Chi-Chi on the head.

"Thank you," Bulma thanked and sat down on the couch in the living room.

She started to massage her temples, not taking a potion this time. She wanted to get used to this kind of feeling because she wanted to improve her resistance against it. She was succeeding, slowly but surely, and this situation would not be a problem for Bulma in the future.

"Goku, were you able to learn?" asked Bulma quietly, and Goku nodded.

Seeing how Bulma used the new technique, some confusing things in the document became clearer to him, so excited that he also closed his eyes and tried to create his projection.

Only, unlike Bulma, it didn't go as smoothly. A feeling of dread surged through Goku, as if a large predator was about to pounce on its unsuspecting prey.

Behind Goku, a being of rage, ferocity, and pride appeared, a translucent, ethereal version of an Ozaru. Perhaps because Goku was small, this projection was not as huge as the transformation he underwent when he saw the moon or was exposed to special waves.

This was growled, making the house shake with the noise. Soon, Oolong went over to take a look and stumbled upon this terrifying scene. The poor pig lost the pink color of its body and turned white.

"What is this!?" cried Oolong, attracting the attention of the projection, which roared at him and held out one of its hands menacingly.

But instead of turning his poor little body into mush, as Oolong had imagined, the Ozaru's hand stopped in front of him, waving gently as if in greeting.

"Don't be afraid, it's a new technique; Goku controls it. This is what it looks like when he transforms," Chi-Chi said, causing Oolong to regain his color.

"For Kami, you martial artists are really weird. How scary," Oolong wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

"It's not scary; it's like a big stuffed animal," Chi-Chi muttered, causing Oolong to look at her with dead eyes.

"Right, because you're in love..." Chi-Chi's hand covered Oolong's mouth, preventing him from finishing his sentence.

Oolong could see strange black smoke rising from Chi-Chi's body, gathering into what appeared to be the figure of a woman in white robes, a high bun pierced by a large golden needle and long fingernails that seemed to drip blood.

Bulma looked at this with some amazement. Except for some differences in certain details, the projection behind Chi-Chi looked exactly like Rakshasi, the 'sworn sister' of a certain Great Sage, Heaven's Equal.

Bulma then watched the strange interaction between the projections of Goku and Chi-Chi, who began to communicate with each other through gestures, while Oolong slowly approached Bulma, seeking reassurance.

"Bulma, you can do something like that, right? Can you show me?" Oolong asked curiously.

After the fear and surprise had passed, Oolong became interested in this strange technique. If the others could do it, so could Bulma, so he wanted to see what the girl could do.

"That'll come later. right now, it's killing my head." Bulma looked sideways at Oolong before asking her something.

"Do you want to improve your transformation technique? Only five minutes must be very limiting," Bulma said, making Oolong think for a moment before she nodded.

"Seeing you do such interesting things like flying, throwing lightning, and now this..." Oolong pointed at the projections of Goku and Chi-Chi, who were playing happily.

"I want to be better, too," Oolong said, clenching his small fist with determination.

He, too, was encouraged as he watched his new friends seemingly get better and better, so something began to grow inside him. At first, it was an internal debate: Did he need to improve?

He could live a quiet life, maybe a little hectic, but certainly much safer than before. But now, seeing so many people struggling around him, some of it rubbed off on him.

He wanted to make himself better! So, he accepted Bulma's proposal without hesitation.
