Chapter Seven

"Yes, grandpa," he replied, sounding like a teen who is crazily in love. "I want to marry her and make her mine forever."

His response made Mr. Sawyer chuckle. Atticus was exactly like his father.

He had this kind of conversation with his only son. But he won over him. In the end, Mariah, Atticus's mother, chose money.

She received a hefty sum from him and left without a trace until she reunited with her son after a few months.

"What if I say you won't marry her?" His question made everyone's eyes widen, wondering what kind of game he was pulling.

He turned his gaze to Sabrina, who was lost in her own thoughts, thinking of how to save herself from the mess.

"Sabrina, would you leave Silverton City if I bribed you with a million dollars, 1% of my family fortune? If you would, I will inform—"

"I am sorry for interrupting you, but I can't. To me, Atticus is worth more than your family fortune. All I want is to be with the man who I love, and who loves me. Money? I would rather remain poor with Atticus than receive such hefty money to leave him," Sabrina said, trying her best not to reveal the lies in her words, just like Atticus.

"Hmm, you both would be a perfect match. You have my blessing," another gasp escaped everyone's lips as Mr. Sawyer concluded the debates they were engrossed in.

Mr. Kieran, whose anger had reached its peak, spoke up, unable to hide his fury. "I can't let Sabrina marry your son. It is either your son gets married to Alicia, my youngest daughter, or forfeit your promise."

"I am sorry, I can't. She is Sabrina Kieran after all," Mr. Sawyer, who was already exhausted, stood up and left.

Alexander just shook his head before leaving the restaurant with his mother and sister.

He knew everything was going to be in favor of Atticus. He is known for his smartness for a reason.

"Sabrina! How could you do this to me and my family?" Alicia asked angrily, tears clustered in her eyes.

It would be an embarrassment for her if her peers found out her fiancé chose her adopted sister instead of her. To worsen things, she already got a wedding gown and ordered jewelry that was going to be used for her non-scheduled wedding.

How naive of her! If she knew things would turn out this way, she would have initiated Kelvin's suggestion to poison Sabrina.

"What did I do to you? Oh, snatching your acclaimed fiancé when you are in love with someone?" Sabrina chuckled as she flashed back to what happened in room 105. "This is just the start. I would take back everything your family took from me—especially you."

"Then have Kelvin and leave Atticus for me," Alicia's voice sounded weakly as if she was pleading.

Sabrina burst into laughter at the victim card Alicia was trying to play. She walked up to her before leaning in, whispering, "What did I tell you earlier? You picked up the trash I was afraid to dump because I was afraid of not finding love again."

"What do you mean?" Alicia asked curiously, her voice shaky.

"You think I don't know about your dirty secrets? I just decided to pretend it wasn't real because I don't believe in things I didn't see," Sabrina replied in whispers.

Martin, who thought his daughter was going to resolve this and finally convince Sabrina, walked up then after waiting without seeing the success of Alicia's actions.

"Sabrina, leave the city and never come back if you don't want to be disgraced! I am going to be kind enough not to punish you for betraying my family, but my kindness wouldn't exceed this," Mr. Kieran informed her, sounding like a totally different person.

Sabrina chuckled darkly at his words before replying, "Are you threatening me? You should know better than this. This empty threat won't do me any harm."

About to walk up to Atticus, who didn't want to engage himself in Kieran family talks, a resounding slap hit her cheek.

"Mr. Kieran, what the hell is happening here? I can take every bit of shit from you but not hitting my fiancée! The next time you try this, your family will be reduced to nothing!" His threats made Martin miss a beat, leading him to fall.

"Why can't I? Anyway, for your information, you aren't getting married to Sabrina. It is either Alicia or forget about marrying into my household," he replied, maintaining his boldness, which already faltered at Atticus's threat.

Atticus smirked darkly as he watched the naive man in front of him run his mouth the way he wanted. He tucked his hands into his pocket before taking a few steps toward him.

Maintaining eye contact, he began. "Mr. Kieran, if I don't get married to Sabrina, I will reveal the truth behind your dirty business secrets and the fact that the money Sabrina earns from the club and stripping enters the Kieran account. She is Kieran Group's cash cow. Not only that, I have proof revealing that Kelvin and Alicia are lovers."

"You know what would happen if everything I just listed is revealed to the public?" He added, making Martin tremble on the ground.

"Do you have evidence?" Alicia was quick to answer the question that was meant for her father to answer.

Atticus smiled faintly, hesitating to answer. "Do you want one? How about the video of you and Kelvin planning to drug Sabrina?" He questioned, his voice barely audible, making Alicia the only person who heard what he said.

Alicia's eyes rolled at Atticus's words. No one was there when they planned it. Only her family and Sabrina, who overheard their conversation, knew what really happened.

Given Atticus's actions so far, Alicia figured out what he was up to. He had been spying on them. On her family.

"Since when did you begin spying on my family, you beast?" She whispered, her voice shaky.

There was no way the Sawyer family's heir could be a stalker, and if he really was, for what reason?
