Only one week remained until the onset of the Era of the Dragon, and the astronomical observation Enslaved Beasts established by Zero still could not detect any signs of the approaching dragon swarms. That was normal, however, as the dragon hordes were led by the Rapids Dragons, so they likely weren't within the observable surface layer of the material world.


An impressive army was on its way to the [Altar], which was precisely where the Rapids Dragon Yi Angde had instructed all the Lords to bring the populations they were to offer when the Era of the Dragon began. No one knew when the grand yet dilapidated Altar had been built, perhaps hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Some speculated it was constructed by the dragon swarms, but Bai Zhongqi did not believe that the dragons, which lacked a spirit of labor and were even clumsy with their limbs, would build such a huge edifice.
