Path Of The Martial

Alexander had spent the first few hours of his gaming session to gain skills that he knew would be necessary.

Because of his past life he knew how to obtain these skills already and even knew the most efficient way to level them up.

This is why he was not only leveling up his character but also leveling up his attacking skills.

At this time he was actually fighting a creature in the starting area, he had long since reached the level where the golden slimes were not giving him any experience points but he knew a secret.

~~~~~~~~~~
Player has slain over one thousand creatures.
Title Aquired: Mass Hunter (novice)
For every one thousand lives taken the holder of this title will deal an additional 1% damage to targets.
~~~~~~~~~~

This skill may seem small but it could grow infinitely and if he killed more powerful creatures it could also go up in tier.

In his past life he had been farming boss monsters as often as possible as he had already brought the tier to apprentice by slaying one thousand elite monsters.

He also knew that if he went as far as to hunt one thousand individual types they would also provide unique titles.

He had never heard of a title for slimes since they were the weakest creature in the game but he would not ignore the slimes as he had obtained lv5 in his class.

Alexander took his time examining his stats and smiled before getting back up.

'Well time to get to farming... the wolves are in the next area but i may skip them entirely to go for the boars.'

He got his blade ready and exited the barrier.

Outside of the barrier were players returning from hunting wolves and some seemed sevrely injure while others looked like they were simply tired.

He remembered what that was like in his original start but now he would be going far beyond them.

Alexander took a moment to stop and go after an entirely different target.

Normally slimes can range from lv 1 to lv 3 but wolves started at lv 3 and could occasionally be found at lv 5.

He was able to find a lv 4 wolf which he slowly approached from behind.

He kept his body downwind from the wold as much as possible before lunging to strike the beast with a stab.

He struck with great accuracy and power on the back of the wolf's neck.

-30 damage

The strike was good and took away roughly a fifth of the wolf's hp.

After a few more strikes he was fairly satisfied with the result but the amount of experience was disappointing.

In Bloodlines Online if you were to fight an enemy of a level under your own you recieved a penalty to the experience gained per level above the target.

For each level the player was above their prey they lost 10% of the experience so he at least got 90% of the reward.

What Alexander wanted though was higher level prey as the same rule applied in reverse, the boars would naturally start at lv 5 and could be found as high as lv 7 which made them more profitable.

Alexander was even tempted to try his luck in the next area to battle the bears, bears would range from lv 7 to lv 9 meaning not only would the base experience reward be better but it would be increased by 20-40%.

Before attacking the bears he wanted to see if he could handle the boars at his current level though.

~

Entering the deeper forest region Alexander was alert for any sign of a creature as the boars were known for charging unsuspecting players.

Alexander knew that he had to eventually return to town and start taking quests but he wanted to at least reach lv 10 before that.

In Bloodlines Online quests would occasionally have gear as a reward but what many players would take time to learn was the fact that if you reached the maximum level of a region then the gear obtained through quests would also be maximum level.

The quest for slaying wolves could give the player a set of gear that increased agility by a small amount.

In the game everything had a tier based on quality, for gear the tiers were:

Iron

Bronze

Silver

Gold

Mythril

Adamantine

Diamond

The basic gear obtained from the quest by slaying wolves would be iron tier but if completed at lv10 the tier would be bronze instead.

What decided an items tier was only known to the system but players figured out some of it at least.

The iron tier simply increased stats while the bronze tier increased both agility and strength with a set bonus for more agility.

To bring his race to the special evolution he desired would require his base stats to reach a certain amount but more stats was always helpful.

While lost in thought he finally found a boar... at lv5.
