Chapter 1
Birth, Background and Education
One upon a time in the year 4/5 1992’ a boy called Deng Garang Chuor was born
in the small village called Akondok, wunraak boma, mangok payam in wanyjok
county in Aweil, South Sudan by mother names: Akon Aguer Diing, he grew up in
maternal family’s home with his big sister while his hometown is little far away' his
father have had differences with his mother when he was 2 years' old’ back 1990s and
that was when his mother took him and his big sister to stays in maternal family home
but yet his uncles’ the brothers of his father used to visits him when he was youngest
boy; They always made sure their brother's son was in safety place, he grew up in the
same village until he joins school when he was twelve years old, at the time when
children happened to feared joining studies or Schools due to parents lack of
encouraging children to attending schools.
He started his studies in grade one in his 10s, been deciding to go green in nearest
future, where he was too clever in his school in every class of schooling years, that he
never missed class from pupil's one up to pupil's eight, he has never reached out to
number four or else during his Schooled year’s every class’s exams, he always in
number; First, second or third in final examinations in every year from pupil's book
one until he sat for primary leaving examination in 2013 were he scores 69% and
incidentally, he did not join the high school in the following year (2014) due to some
issue faced him’ because one of his maternal uncle deceived him that he will take him
to high school in capital city; in which later turned out to downplayed of back holding,
so he could decide to quite his studies and micromanage his live but this ultimate
pathway to lasting change in his future studies. He never gave up his dream education,
on top of that; he trying multiple ways to overcome the setback he was experience; off course, the most importance one was gets ahead with his studies no matter what
has happened.
He went to Mangok primary school. where he was studying English language from
P1C, P1B, P1A and then up to P2, P3, P4 ,P5, P6 P7, P8', in 2012 he has shifted to
manyiel primary school for English practicing when he was in Pupil’s book seven, in
manyiel primary; there were English practicing where students were invited to
attended debates conducted in English language, he has one of his friend called Kuot
maduok from nyariet (toc) who came to manyiel primary school for English practicing
too, they were best friend, Kuot was coolest Person he ever met’ they were both living
in Akuem, also they had other friends like James Yum and Chut, they Called him
Chutting, and more other classmates, they actually enjoyed studies in P7 in which they
claimed as a good schooling year for them, they did ended class seven without
complains about anything, class seven was well ended; in which they still remember
each other as classmates until today. After he grew up just at age of 15 years old, he
was interest on how to be a leader of tomorrow.
He always thoughts of how it feel like to united people to do the same things in
common' he was at first created a team that hunted for wild animals like antelope or
Ghazal , they added dogs that chased and caught wild animals for purpose of meats,
after then he created a group and named them (dhakyal) " which means flyboy " they
can fly everywhere within their area to look round on how area is: whether the area
is going well or there is problems faces it, the managed drums of their area from people
who come from others sides and do unacceptable things in the area, this flyboys are
always in time to responding any issues, they were ambitious men with enough energy
to faces anything come their ways , they made their area most respected by outsider, In 2015 the boy joined (High-School) Secondary school in his hometown where he
studying in Aweil freedom Secondary school, he was Self-Sponsored and worked as a
driver while he had nowhere to stay then.
He went to one of his relatives who has a house in Aweil and she accepted him to be
in her home but some other boys of the same area he came from who already came
before him and stays in his relative’s home were not happy with decision been made
by the home owner’ of letting him to stay "and share room with them" they feel jealous
of decision the home owner has made to bring the boy.
So he decided to leave them to stay at home and he went out and lives in empty house
that was belong to some political party; he stay there and decided to bring some of his
homeboys who were working in same city’ so they could stay with him. Usually he
woke up every morning and go to school and come later Afternoon and go to work,
he works so hard and harder to help himself since he was Self-Sponsored.
He studies in first year high school and then secondary where he dropped out due to
civil war occurred in his home country; which replaced thousands of people and more
than 400,000 people were killed in war between VP President and President, country
collapse totally, tribal wars occurred, the few people left managed to escapes to
Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Congo, C.A.R and north Sudan, he thoughts of leaving
his home country and go looking for some peaceful place in the world.
He took one of his maternal uncle’s son with him and traveled all the way to cross the
border of South Sudan and North Sudan Without any form of transportation ‘just on
foot through the big Forest at the border, they were walked on foot from Aweil to
river Kiir at the border.
They spend two days, one night and one day, they were walked for 48 hours, while
they were three people such as his maternal uncle’s son and the guy who also met themin Aweil ' he asked them if he could join them on their journey' the guy was so happy
to share journey with them, he use to tell him’ Deng! You are strong young man ' I
APuk will going to slaughtering a goat for you once after we arrives to dhien.
They have had a lot of fun on their journey in deep forest without fears and as of
suddenly his maternal uncle’s son get tired of longest walks on foot’ his feet get hurry,
at the midnight’ they finally tried to take a rest and then they went to collected fir
woods for making a fire; just to keep wild animals away from attacking them, specially
lions and tigers. You have no idea how it feels to walking through deadly forest, not
would that cost you to suffered with walked on foot but the whole forest is very
dangerous, because of anyhow attacking by lions and tigers, either way, this is too risk
to fast through the deadly forest, made their own fear manifest.
When Kiir and machar fought their second war in 2016, I was in high school pushing
with my studies since I was self-sponsored, however the fight cause great wavering in
our state that led to economic collapse which forced us to dropped out of high school'
I was victim of School drop out because of 2016 civil war, all my class-mates dropped
out of high School' I actually dropped out of Second year high school' in which I
travelled all the way from Aweil to dhien, walking through the biggest forest with my
maternal uncle’s son and other accompany person from Aweil South who joined us
on our journey to dhien' we walked two days through the border until we got a lorry
in the middle of the forest that took lifted of us to dhien.
I was very sad with this two people who always causes chaotic to millions of South
Sudanese unusual, I was talking to myself inside my heart when we walked through
deadly forest' I told myself I’m going through this deadly forest now, if I survive from
those lions I heard about as always’ then I will definitely join what will change this
wrong ruling and coming back home to change it, this wrong rulers created a lot of
back-held because of them all my primary school class-mates dropped out and some of them giving up on their studies because of this wrong ruling, I will join anything
that could bring back their interests in studies again and push them to complete their
dreams education.
When we arrived to dhien' there was worse behaving of north Sudanese towards South
Sudanese which made us left to Khartoum and then to Egypt , after all hardship I didn't
stop’ I went back to school to advancing my writing, Joined politics in my 20s to push
back what made me going through big forest and the cause of my high school dropped
out, I was trying to restore my lost dreams and lost dreams of my class-mates, I want
to see them going back to School’ after we change this wrong ruling that crashed our
dreams as young people.
I still want see my home country take lead as successfully nation in Africa, with modern
cities, luxury more than Singapore, I still want my home country cultivating huge land
more than Canada, I still want see my home country restore health youths than
Switzerland, I want see them as a happiest people in our home continent.
Next morning at 7:00pm, they share the road with lion and lioness’ in which they
were walking toward river kiir; where three of them heading to: they let lions walking
in front while; they were walking behind the lions; been in 50 meters apart from each
other since lions are dangerous animals.
The forest they were going through was deadly forest which a lot people have been
missed or eaten by lions for some decades back and recently’ it was dangerous forest
everybody was worries about going through this deadly forest. After two days of walking through the deep forest, they were almost caught by the
Arabs paramilitary in the midnight; as of suddenly after they heard their sounds 'then
they managed to escaped behind the trees' in the next morning that was the end of
two days walking where they arrived to river kiir, the place where South Sudanese
and North Sudanese met up for exchanging their goods. Unfortunately, they couldn’t
afford for bus fare, so then boy decided to sell all his cloths just to pay for
transportation.
He got transport bus to dhien in the west of north Sudan, and then they made it to
dhein the state in Western Sudan, after one day trip; in dhein there were no enough
jobs for south Sudanese, so they decide to go to farms; upon getting employed in farms,
the farmers employed them without any payment made, North Sudanese farmers are
sometimes greedy enough to employed people without paying, the boy had a thoughts
again of leaving dhien due to insecurity happened daily in front of him; once he was
stopped by North Sudanese boys and insulted him plus showing him the knight ,
asking him why he is here , his Countrymen and women who made it to dhein,
because of war in their country have been killed by Arabs daily and Arabs saying,
you're animals' why did they left their home country South Sudan and come here to
us.
He decides to escape to Khartoum the capital city of North Sudan where there might
be low insecurity.
He left dhien for Khartoum on march 5/ 2016 with his maternal uncle’s son with him,
his maternal uncle’s son has his sister in Khartoum; where they both arrived to her
home in Khartoum and they stayed in her home for one month until the boy thinking
again of living as independent, he tries looking for a job that offer house for living, as
of sudden he got a job that offer room for living from some Egyptians based in Khartoum. The Boy was furious to work with them as an excitement job that ever
came cross to him.
He works with them; where he earned more money " meanwhile he working with
them, he tries to open a little business where he sells white goods, he bought them
from the wholesale and distributed the goods to local shops in the area, also he worked
in Khartoum market as an Independent distributor, it was going great until Sudan start
to collapse again like South Sudan, after three year later.
North Sudan started to collapse due to a war that overthrows the president Omer al
Bashir' everything again getting worse and worse, the boy tries again to leave Sudan
for Egypt, he took with him Maternal uncle’s son with his sister and her family to
Egypt for their safety due to the war in Khartoum.
The boy when for process of visas in Egyptian embassy in Khartoum and as quickly as
the embassy gave them a visas, then he went for tickets for finally leaving North Sudan,
the boy and his maternal uncle's son with his sister and her family left for Egypt on July
27 2018 and arrived in Cairo Egypt on July 29 2018.
They were picked up by one of the boy his best friend who came to Egypt 5 months
before ' the boy plans his trip to Egypt but for his kind-hearted in which he helped his
friend and his family; when they were on their journey in Which he helped them with
little he has" in return his friend picked them up and brought them to his home in
Cairo. That’s definition of whatever we threw at people will automatically return to
us right away, we must learn to throw good thing at the people instead of bad things,
to build our power by lifts other up and not by bring them down The boy lived in Cairo for two months without getting a job but he came from North
Sudan with enough money that would hosted him and lives without any effect, after
two months later he got a job where he worked in car spare parts. he worked there for
two months but job was not that good, he worked 12 hours a day but with a low
salary; in Egypt you must have a good job to afford house rent, food, cloths, help your
family back home, he approached his works’ upon himself to get a good job that could
provide all those basic needs. Some weeks later.
He visits to 4,500 years old pyramids of Giza on August 5 2018, he went to see by his
own eyes which said to be the great pyramids of Giza- he use to read in the books,
after he arrived in Giza "he ridding horse, walking with it through the desert" having
fun, racing and also camel, the camel he took was little crazy that its almost beats him;
however he managed the camel with Stick" there is a lot of things to enjoy in desert of
Giza’ he made researching on who actually built them" only to find out the sculptures
were of their ancestors> especially Nubia, Dinka, Nuer, and Shilluk, that was when
he understood the invaders took their history in 7th century when they invaded North
Africa and chased out their ancestors to the Southern part of Sudan.
In Cairo; he thought of getting another job better than current one, he got other job
where he worked in water pipes shop " he uses delivering the water pipes with driver,
he only witness that everything been put in the store just as store assistance, by then
driver crashed a car on motor rider which almost took their lives.
He then found out that the job also not comfortable, he left and go to work in
McDonald's where he working night shift 6 hours a day with high salary, he working
there for 4 months and job was not also good due to robbers that attacked people at night in street of Cairo, once in the morning time at 6:00am when he was getting back
from workplace, he was about to get home and incidentally met 6 robbers.
They caught him trying to robs him and take his cell phone by force , one of robber
among robbers remove the knight and trying to stable him with it , then the boy tries
his Tactics , he tries to kick the one who holding the knight while fighting with other
of robbers with boxing plus kicking until the robbers separated from him , they all
runs away from him, the best part was he won the fight with no injuring or losing his
cell phone nor money, then after few weeks later , the robbers fear him , they usually
met him at same place the fought in and they greet him , he was free from robbers,
because he was fearless young man in which they robbers respected him and free him
from any future attacking.
He has thought again of getting a day time job, so he can go back to school and
continue his education since he dropped out in second class high School in 2016.
He got a job in an Egyptian company where he works as an office boy, he working
with the company for 2 months and he was found as the nicest guy they ever got. The
company owner used to ask him to bring one of his family members; once there were
job offers. he then bought his maternal uncle’s son to the company but he failed to
work with them since he was not interested.
He likely having fun with some of employees like John and Peter, they used to have
fun which made everyone laughs, sometime he went upstairs to the boss office and
starts having fun telling the boss the salary you pay me; can't even afford of buying socks ' leave alone about rent, food and clothes, why are you so stingy? Are you trying
to pass those of Elon musk or Jeff; Boss! you know I look rich and you act like a poor
but in real sense we both are liars, boss laugh and tell him you're right Mr. Jimmie’ he
then Thanks the boss and went back downstairs to performing his duty.
He was a hard working young boy with confident and respective behavior to every
employee in the company, he always in time performing his duty without
compromise' he was funniest with untouchable words.
He was kind, peacemaker, entertainer, funniest, loving everyone equal after he works
so hard' the HR in the company and surprise what kind of hard-working boy?
HR organized the event of giving all hard-working people a certificates. they made
event on July 25 2020 in which the boy got any awards as employee of the month in
the company.
The boy got his certificate of employee of the month at Egyptian company in Cairo
Egypt on July 2020, while he Continues on his studies; where he studying diploma in
information Tech, Public-Relation and Entrepreneur.
He once got vacation in summer time, he thought of going to Miami beach in Florida
but since he can't afford Miami USA, he made shortcut of going to Miami beach in
Alex, Egypt; where he met with some of his home country-men who went to the
beach and they had conversations:
The boy: hello! gentlemen how are you doing?
They replied” we are fine and you
He replied" I feel good? why are you guys here, looks like you need to cross this sea
to Europe?
What you can see yourself, look! this sea of Mediterranean is un-crossable (Audience
laughs)
They replied" we're here just to enjoy the beach as like you did, we are not going
anywhere.
He replied ' oh that’s my bad keeping it moving brothers, enjoy the beach to the fullest
and have a good day, they greet each other ‘goodbye, the boy goes to his way and the
guys go to their way; he spends a week in Miami beach, Alex, Egypt and came back
to Cairo, Egypt.
He goes to the work in the morning time and coming back later at the evening and
go to the school, sometimes got online learning on the school's website.
The boy still struggling with his life, he never given up, he struggled with working
with Egyptians while dealing with school where he got little salary from workplace;
are the salary he paid for house rents and for school fees.
He was once going to hang out and eat dinner at McDonald’s meanwhile he was eating
and enjoying his food then his friend capture a video of him and posted it on IG as of
sudden; incidentally a South Sudanese lady Based in America quickly feel jealous and
sending voice notes telling him’ are you eating expire bread.
That was a great insulted he ever heard, he didn’t response, since he knew not
everyone in Egypt could eat at McDonald’s, she was just speaking negatively about
him, he knows McDonald’s food is expensive that not everyone could go there for
dining, he makes plan to invite her later for dinning at McDonald’s, so she feels
ashamed of what she was talking about.
He was rented house with one of his area mate back in his home country; who he has
met with in Egypt, the old man he shared house with; was somewhat old man; he was
rented house cheapest and he lying to him that he rented house very expensive in
which, the boy uses to paid lot of money on rents and as of sudden’ the boy noticed
the game been played by old man’ then he asked the old man that if he can ‘say’actually
amount of the rents of the floor, they are living in, since he was very first person to
discussing floor renting with landlord.
Then the old man failed to say the actually amount of money, then the boy decided
to leave the house and rent a floor with some of his friends nearby the old man.
His maternal uncle’s son and his sister with her family were rented their house 100 km
away from the boy ' he uses to visits them in the weekend during his days off from
workplace.
Until his maternal uncle’s son met with one of South Sudanese lady based in Australia’
they had an affairs and got in relationship and as of suddenly his uncle’s son told him
to wittiness their relationship and he was so worries of being getting in trouble once a
relationship fall apart, he was furious and decided whether to accepted to wittiness his
maternal uncle’s son relationship with lady or to reject witness, and finally he Decided
to accept witness not until his uncle’s son deceived’ the lady that he need to rents a
floor for themselves, so they could stay in it’ once she come over to Africa.
The lady accepted the decision; since they’re partners and she rushing to send the
money for renting house for themselves and for buying some Christmas gifts, soonest
upon receiving the cash that was when he rushed into blocking her and run all the way
from Egypt to Sudan’ leaving the boy in trouble without telling the boy" the lady asked
the boy what is that for; after all of these "said by the lady.
I will setup all of you; the boy feels scared about the setups from rich lady, he decided
to make her calm down by keeps talking with her for more than 2 hours just to calm
her down but it was not easy.
Until the boy adding his best friend called Teacher Peter Ngong to talks with the lady.
" Teacher Peter Ngong was a kind person with great words, he was a problem solver;
peter have had peaceful talks with lady for more than one hour and that's when lady
calmed down.
While his uncle’s son ran to Sudan and the boy left in Egypt; meanwhile he got three
things’ in which he's dealing with, the Egyptian company job, studies, the trouble he
got himself into due to his uncle’s son his invitation of trouble and ran’ leaving him
into biggest trouble which he ever encountered.
His maternal uncle’s son gone but before he ran to Sudan, they were worked in same
company because the boy took him and his sister to works together in the same
company’ since the owner of company told the boy to always bringing one of his
family members when there's job offers.
The boy and his maternal uncle’s daughter left working with the boss' it was going
well until his maternal uncle’s daughter got accused by the wife of boss, the accusation
started after she was pregnancy in which she was about to quit her job.
Once in the morning the wife of boss called her to come early morning; she woke up
early and go to work to boss his home, she worked until 2:00 pm while the boy was
also working that day performing his duty, he did not know what went down till the
boss and his wife came downstairs to him (Jimmie ' they called him by his nick name)
and told him if they could go together to the boss's home; so he can help them doing
something in boss his home, he accepted to go with them since the boss is always right,
after few minutes later' the 3 of them arrived to boss his home by car, boss his home
based next to the international airport and after they arrive home:
The boss asked” the boy
Boss: Mr. James, am sorry to tell you this but your maternal uncle's daughter who you
brought to work as maid has taken 200 dirhams, $100, 100 euro in my house?
Mr. James: Okay boss I understand all your saying but my answer for your claimed
is: show me the evidence which presented that she has taken money in here, I can see
now there are CCTV cameras everywhere in here, you can show me the video of her
taken your money; so I can judge her by evidence.
The boss has no evidence, he decided to raises his voice telling the boy’ look’ I will
call the Police to arrest her, right now.
The boy said there is still no evidence to arrest her, you are just pushing her without
evidence, you can call the police but I can't judge her on what I don't see whether she
did or she didn't do.
There is no evidence for your claimed.
The boss was so angers with the boy about his answer
The boss tried to call the police; after few some minute later police have arrived:
The police asked the boss ' is that lady you told us about?
The boss said yes" she stolen my money, she works as maid in my house for just period
of 9 months now.
Then the police asked; the boy what is your connection in these case?
The boy answer to police' I'm the one who brought her to works here with the boss,
she is my maternal uncle’s daughter, she has been working here for period of 2 years
and half not 9 months.
The boss took me from workplace just few minutes before he called you (the police)
looking like he was trying to let me force her to accept accusation but I just found out
there is no evidence that she has stolen his money in his house; just she is about to
leave his work due to her pregnancy maybe that's why they're trying to create storms
for her, Police said to the boy’ we understand no worries she will be fine.
Then she was asked to give her Id card, and she presented her Id card to policeman.
And police arrest her, she also decides to put the boy into trouble with her, she told
police that the boy is supposed to be arrest with her because if she is a thief then the
boy is a thief also since they’re relatives, the boy replied ' that's not what it take, " so
what I know about laws so far is" it's only you that can pay for your own crime you
committed, it’s not about me or else just follow your case’ I’m not part of your case,
she was taken into police Car and take her to police station in Cairo, Egypt where she
was detained for a week.
She stays in police station for 8 days after then she was taken to the court for
investigation and she was found nothing or evidence that show she was guilty.
Then she was released to go free, after she was released the boy plans to leave the
company since the boss is not a good boss and the following day. and as of the
following week, the boy graduated with his diploma in Information Technology and
had a plan to head to university to earn himself degree.
In April 2022 he managed to survive a deadly attack from some Egyptians, the assault
was evening hours at around 6:30 pm during Ramadan fasting season, he was in bus
coming back from downtown to new Cairo, while the bus still not moving’. then an
old man of his 60s came besides him caring a drinks and calls him black take a drink,
he said thanks you" that he was satisfied at the moments, just came out of restaurant
right now, at that point the old man threw drink at him and starting insulting him in
Egyptian Arabic’ telling him that he’s an animal, dog is better than him, in response ‘
he asked the old man `are you trying to force me drinking what I don’t know?; when
I actually don't drink randomly'' That's when other guys in the bus join and they start
insulting him too, telling him go back to your home country, don't sit here in Egypt
our country.
Then he simply asked them why are guys joining but I was talking with old man caring
a drinks, the one guy replied him' that he is brother as long as he is Egyptian, and
punches him and telling him; they will kill him; then he punch him back, that's when
everyone in bus joins hands together to beats him, he face the whole bus only himself
'and he managed to Passed through car window while his mouth was injury, the next
day he went to police station but they don't allow him to open the case of murder
attempted or attacking made by Egyptians against him, So he wrote the message to
UN headquarter Geneva Switzerland calling for transfer of unhcr-egypt office for
safety of thousands of refugees living in fears in Egypt plus other whom their processes
goes in waste.
As frustrations are unavoidable. Hence, as far as possible, which are sometimes made
us giving up in life, they are created by people around us in our childhood or
adulthood, we should learn to grow facing these frustrations. Particularly in children,
facing frustrations make them stronger and help them to develop self-confidence as I
did during my childhood, facts a lot of abandoned and frustrated by some relatives, I
broke through blocked alone, meanwhile I still experience being hated and that
doesn’t stop me, compare to where I finally grown up as adult’ I experiences the same
thing at workplaces being blocked from promotions when I worked at Egyptian company, there was a lawyer cares secret hating on me and still don’t mind since hate
only hurt hater, I won an award and got promoted with my hard-working and
focused. As Symonds has rightly said, ‘a child will explore and gain knowledge of the
external world only at the behest of frustration’. The effects of frustrations will not be
severe if there is high level of frustration tolerance, in my childhood one of mother’s
relative who claimed to be responsibly of us, me and my big sister frustrated us, he has
taken my big sister out of studies and taken her to cattle camp in which my big sister
lose her dream education on cattle camp; he applies this act on me after I first attended
my grade one, I missed my first year in which I supposed to be in grade one in 2004,
in the following year 2005 I managed to fact this challenge and turned down his force
of taken me to cattle camp. My first priority in life is deal with anything that seemed
to causes frustrating of my dream education, because I earned any experiences on deal
with frustrates, this is what I’m good at, I doesn’t like being frustrated nor causing any
frustrating in someone’s life, I love seeing things work out in people his life, for current
generation caring blocking, frustrations, hate to each other; that where I sit and
thinking for myself, telling myself that I’m amongst 1% who love progressing of
people’s lives. You learning so much of breaking thru frustrations, I first questioning
myself; is he trying to frustrating me? If he thinks ‘he can have to defeated me’ he got
be a fool.
In 15/5/2022 he was Appointed as Spokesperson of KDMP and he wrote the letter of
appreciation.

First of all, " I would like to take this most Ambitious moment to thanks Mr. President
and KDM leadership plus our partners in exile and all KDM supporters.
Second to it " I'm so excited and grateful to Mr. President Bol for his pointing me as
spoke-person of KDM leadership on date 15 / 5/2022 " so I'm here just to let KDM
leadership know that "
1. I’m supporter of KDM for the change to betterment of our home country.
2. I will do my best to make good cooperative activities with KDM members and our
partners.
3. I'm KDM member, then and now and I wish we can reach our set goals of our
party.
Finally, I wish all of you KDM Leadership, partners and supporters a very interesting
and greatest luck to see South Sudanese dreams come true " South Sudanese dreams is
one step away to be reach if we wish to reach it.
Thought I faced some challenges in position one year later’ thought it was not easy
hold group of people, it has some painful moments, more hold back and insulting from
group member, there were some tasks I could handling, create rules and regulation for
members to follow, relief he who misbehaving or trying to create mess with other
member; as an SP it was my responsibility to face anyone, I try do or undo to keep a
party move forward’ experience some hate from some members’ but still come back
to make co-operation with them’ it’s people movement to bring united to South
Sudanese even if I feel not being united some members who thinks I was better than
them’ for me I thinks I’m better than anyone just I had skills to move our party forward
