Langsley had heard through the grape vine of the visit to Miranda (Knox) by Gerard and thought to speed up his plan over the weekend, too many merriment from a wedding in town made people pay less attention to much. He paid off two men to help keep the locks to her apartment upstairs open through the back so he could go in and come in none the wiser.
