Their partnership is strained—A disciplined and methodical solider, and an esper who's impulsive and dismissive of rules.

As dungeons appear more frequently, each mission tests their limits and teamwork. While the Guide adjusts to his new life and role, the esper wrestles with his haunted past and growing responsibilities. Together, they uncover a disturbing pattern behind the dungeon outbreaks, suggesting a larger, sinister plot at play.

Amid the chaos, the guide grapples with losing his former life and his growing attachment to his esper, while the looming danger threatens to push them—and their fragile trust—apart. Every decision they make could determine the city's fate, or possibly the entire world.

"Pardon?" Penn looked up in surprise from behind his desk. Daniel laughed as he pulled out a chair and sat across from him.

"You and the usual team, plus Yoonseul, have been assigned a gate request on a military base. Specifically, the base you served at previously," Daniel winked, though Penn didn't miss where Daniel rolled his eyes at saying Guide Baek's name.

"Why is there a gate there? Our base didn't have any awakened, so there were no military-managed gates nearby," Penn asked in concern, leaning forward. Daniel shrugged.

"That's what you're going to handle. They usually send in their own awakened, but the army doesn't have Hunters that are that high in rank per the regulations, so they have to go through the Hunter's Association. And since it's a military base, they don't like to want unknowns and unclassified people walking around like they own the place."
