Heated Interaction

"Sorry for intruding. What are you doing, Young Master?" Aunt Lee questioned as she stared at the bump covered in blanket on top of Jiang Feng's bed.

The master of the bed, however, was occupied by another matter as both he and Ling stared at each other with a flush of red apparent on their face. Their face was so close that the breaths from each other could be felt warmly, with even their heartbeats audible if they chose to listen.

"Are you fine, Young Master? Why aren't you responding?"

As the voice of Aunt Lee sounded again, Jiang Feng soon realized she was going to approach the bed. Still trying to hide the figure of Ling, he immediately poked his head out of the blanket while using his arm to hide Ling's face from Aunt Lee.

"H-hi there, Aunt Lee. I'm currently playing on my phone. I'll head down in a bit so don't worry."

"But your face is red like an apple." Aunt Lee said in a concerned tone as she tried to get closer to him for a look, but was quickly stopped by Jiang Feng.

"I'm fine, just head down first. I'll be there in a few minutes."

Seeing how Jiang Feng was desperately trying to make her leave, Aunt Lee had no choice but obey his orders as she left the room with a bow. With that, Jiang Feng let out a sigh of relief as he successfully triumphed the first challenge of the day.

"It's poking me."

Before he could react to anything, Ling's soft voice reached his ears as she whispered out the words that made him got off her instantly.

Falling off the bed and sitting on the ground, Jiang Feng looked at the figure that wrapped herself with his blankets as he got back up on his feet. Ling had turned away from him, leaving Jiang Feng feeling awkward about the situation.

"Sorry."

In the end, he could only think of that to say.

"It's fine. Your parents in this life are waiting for you, right? I'll hide in this room until you come back so don't make me wait too long." Ling replied as she tried to act nonchalant about what happened, but it was obvious to Jiang Feng that she was feeling flustered.

Leaving Ling in the room on her own, Jiang Feng went down the stairs as he arrived at the dining room, where his parents were already slurping on the ramen served.

"You're finally here, Feng. What were you doing in your room?"

Noticing their son, Jiang Feng's mother stopped eating for a moment to look at him, his father ignoring his presence while continuing to indulge on the delightful meal.

"Nothing much, was on my phone for something." Jiang Feng lied with the same excuse as he sat down and picked up the chopsticks placed next to the bowl.

"I see."

After their bowls were taken away by the servants, silence filled the room as both of the parent closed their eyes, seemingly waiting for something to happen. Jiang Feng, sitting in between, could only do the same as his thoughts scrambled.

"So, what are you going to do now?"

In the end, his father was the one to break the silence.

Spending some time to ponder about his plans for the rest of the day, Jiang Feng looked at his father and gave his reply.

"Well, there's nothing I have in my mind so I'm just going to stay in my room for the rest of the day."

"That's fine. However, if you feel uncomfortable or anything, get Aunt Lee, or anyone to call us immediately. You understand?"

Seeing how a frown had appeared on his father's face, Jiang Feng also put up a serious expression and nodded at him.

"Good. Also, if you happened to remember anything from yesterday, tell us about it when we're back." Saying this, both of Jiang Feng's parents stood up from their seats as they proceeded to leave the room.

"Where are you guys going?" Jiang Feng inquired with a tinge of curiosity present in his voice.

"To meet with the elders in the family. They must know what happened to you in that cave."

"I'll be following your dad since he's the patriarch. Take care of yourself, we'll be back by dinner."

After sending them off, Jiang Feng didn't linger around and went back to his room immediately.

Upon entering, he saw Ling, still wrapped in the blankets, sitting on his chair while her head lay on the table.

Noticing him return, Ling sat back up and looked at him with a smile.

"Welcome back."

"You weren't caught, right?"

"Don't worry, no one came in while you were away. Anyways, what was that food you ate earlier? It seems tasty."

Getting off the chair, Ling sat next to Jiang Feng as he leaned on the bed.

"That was called 'ramen'. It's quite savory and a little salty, but many like it anyways."

"Ooh, can I have one?"

Feeling his shirt being tugged, Jiang Feng sat back up and ponder about her request.

"It should be fine as long as others don't spot you."

Peeking his head outside, Jiang Feng spotted a maid not faraway from his room.

"Excuse me, could you bring a bowl of ramen up to my room? Ah, as well as some juice."

"Understood, Young Master Jiang Feng."

It didn't take long for the maid to come back again as she knocked on his door. After Ling went to hide in his bed, Jiang Feng opened the door and took the tray she placed the meal on.

"You can come out now, Ling."

Taking off the blanket that covered her, Ling sat on his chair and began looking at the bowl of ramen. Her mouth began dripping as she couldn't hold herself and began digging in.

Chuckling at the exaggerated expressions she was making, Jiang Feng's attention began shifting towards something else, her clothing.

"I see, in this life you're a lowly pervert that stares at women when they're eating."

Raising his head when he heard the sudden comment, Jiang Feng was shocked to find Ling staring back at him with a teasing smile on her face.

"I wasn't thinking about naughty stuff! It's just that your clothes are a little too revealing, if they can even be called clothes." Jiang Feng explained nervously.

"What do you suggest then?"

"For now, you can wear my clothes first. We can head out to buy dresses from the malls after lunch. Oh, I should also get you a phone in case we get separated."

Saying so, Jiang Feng retrieved his phone from his pocket and began looking up online for phone stores, attracting the attention of Ling while doing so.

"What's this block?" she asked while moving over to him with the bowl in her hands.

"It's called a phone. It has many functions, one of them being able to talk to another person despite being far apart." Jiang Feng explained to her.

"What's the usefulness about that? We can communicate with each other anywhere on this planet since I've already formed a link between our souls."

"You what?!"
