Call with the superstar - Part 2

"Hello? May I speak to Nevian Whitmore?" Sienna asked, assuming it was the actor's manager she was talking to.

"Speaking. May I know who this is?"

Sienna was astonished to find the man himself speaking to her. Unexpectedly, her gaze turned to Kyrell, who was watching her silently.

"I'm Sienna Lawrence," Sienna introduced and heard the man gasp on the other side.

"Miss Lawrence, what a surprise," Nevian said, his tone showing his genuine amazement.

"Mr. Whitmore, I have a movie project to discuss with you. Do you have time?" Sienna asked, finding the man's voice incredibly attractive. She even wondered if his voice helped him reach his stardom.

Nevian's voice was like that soothing music on a rainy day. Relaxing and filled with warmth. She wouldn't mind listening to his beautiful voice.

"Miss Lawrence, I didn't know you were in this field as well," Nevian exclaimed and Sienna smiled faintly.

"Let's just say circumstances led me here. Do you have time?"

"Surely. I want to read the script first."

"Definitely. Mr. Jason Cowell, the script writer will contact you soon."

"Ohh, I thought I'd be meeting you."

Sienna detected the obvious disappointment in his tone and she quirked her brows in wonder.

"Mr. Whitmore, I'm just an investor. All the matters will be handled by professionals."

"Understandable. But is there a possibility for me to meet you?"

"May I ask why? I don't think you and I would have anything to discuss about."

Sienna rejected him indirectly. But Nevian wasn't disheartened and he chuckled softly.

"Miss Lawrence, do I need a reason to meet you? Wouldn't it be good for me to get acquainted with someone like you?"

"Are you flirting with me?" Sienna asked blatantly and Kyrell's brows shot up instantly before they contorted into a frown.

Nevian went silent for a moment while Sienna waited.

"Miss Lawrence, I will be honest. I find you incredibly impressive. But you and I will never work. I'm not flirting with you, I'm just expressing my admiration for you."

Now, it was Sienna's turn to be speechless, and she wondered if she had crossed a line. 'Maybe I misunderstood him. Maybe he was genuinely complimenting me.'

"My bad, Mr. Whitmore. I misunderstood." Sienna was quick to apologize.

"It's fine, Miss Lawrence. Why don't you treat me to a meal as an apology?"

Sienna almost rolled her eyes and smiled helplessly. Now, she was intrigued by him, not because he was a superstar and she wanted to meet one. It was his character that made her wonder what kind of a man he actually was.

"We will discuss it once you meet Mr. Cowell."

"I'll take that as your agreement."

"Mr. Whitmore, it was nice talking to you. I'll have to return to work now." Sienna's tone softened considerably and Kyrell noticed it.

"The feeling is mutual, Miss Lawrence. Thank you for calling."

The call ended and Sienna dropped the phone on the table.

"Well, that went well," she commented, finding Nevian nothing like she had thought. "I thought he'd be an arrogant man. He's nice."

Kyrell just smiled as he remained silent.

"His voice is nice though. I wonder how his acting is," Sienna remarked and pulled the nearest file towards her.

"He's good." Kyrell complimented and Sienna gave him a look.

"Have you seen his movies?"

"Yeah."

Sienna just nodded and returned to the file. "You may take a break if you want. I'll not be leaving the office until the shareholders' meeting."

"The food delivery must be here. I'll take a look." Kyrell used the excuse to slip away from the office while Sienna went through the files on her desk one by one.

Kyrell pulled out his phone when he sensed it vibrating.

Nevian: Thanks, man. I owe you this.

Kyrell: Not at all. She needs you.

Nevian: How is she doing?

Kyrell: Sienna is one of the strongest women I've ever met. Her tolerance level is impressively high.

Nevian: Is it that bad?

Kyrell: Oh, it's terrible. She barely has anyone she can trust and rely on. It's disheartening.

Nevian: Does she trust you?

Kyrell: She is starting to. It's understandable if she doesn't.

Nevian: I feel terrible for her.

Kyrell: When are you returning?

Nevian: In three days. I wish I could fly over soon.

Kyrell: Take your time. I'll manage everything here.

Nevian: Thanks.

Kyrell: I gotta go. It's time for lunch and little Missy tends to forget about food whenever she drowns herself with work.

Nevian: Take care, Ky.

Kyrell: Will do. Take care.

The food was delivered on time. When Kyrell returned with the food, Sienna had just finished reading one of the files.

"Time for lunch," Kyrell announced, unpacking the food on the table by the couch while Sienna signed the document before being lured by the aroma.

"Smells delicious." Sienna hadn't eaten much in the morning. She was tempted the moment Kyrell opened the throwaway boxes.

"Tastes delicious as well. Here." Kyrell handed her a spoon and a fork before he settled himself beside her and started eating.

Neither Sienna nor Kyrell spoke a word as they ate their lunch with relish.

Their short lunch break passed peacefully. However, the tranquility broke when Esme rushed in hurriedly, interrupting Sienna's work.

"Esme, what's wrong? What's the rush?"

"Miss Lawrence, something bad happened?"

"What?" Sienna's forehead creased as she narrowed her eyes.

Esme didn't tell her anything and switched on the TV in Sienna's office, selecting a news channel right away.

Sienna was puzzled by her behavior. Yet, she didn't ask her and watched the news.

"The Lawrence family's brutal deaths have been the talk of the town and now a chilling possibility has come before us," the male reporter on the screen said.

"Sienna Lawrence, the youngest daughter of Nathan Lawrence and Gianna Lawrence wasn't related to them by blood. Being an adopted daughter, her parents had prioritized their biological children, Travis and Leah. Rumors are that Sienna wasn't happy with the distribution of assets."

Sienna's gaze turned chilling when she realized where this was going.

Even Kyrell's expression turned dark as he saw the news.

"It is speculated that Sienna Lawrence orchestrated the deadly plan to obtain all the assets. Is Sienna guilty of murdering her family? Was she the mastermind behind her family's gruesome deaths? What was Sienna's motive? Was Sienna Lawrence...."

Sienna's blood boiled. Consumed by her fury, she picked up the object nearest to her and hurled it at the TV. The screen cracked before it went black.

Esme was taken aback to see Sienna lose her calm for the first time. But she understood her sentiments. If she was in her place, she had an inkling that her reaction would be worse.

Nobody spoke for some time and Sienna clenched her fists tight.

"Get out," she ordered and Esme glanced at Kyrell who was observing Sienna worriedly.

"I said get out," Sienna was livid and she didn't hide it from them. Her voice was suppressed and filled with agitation. She was just short of exploding.

Raising her head, she glared at the two people before her, and Kyrell was shocked to see her state. Her eyes were abnormally red.

Although he wanted to stay with her and calm her down, he realized she wouldn't listen. It wasn't the time for him to argue with her.

Pursing his lips, he glanced at Esme who was staring blankly, and gestured to her to leave the office.

Before Sienna exploded, Kyrell and Esme left the office and the moment they did so, they heard Sienna roar followed by objects being thrown before everything went silent.
