chapter 2

"I know about your debts in gambling, and you've lost most of the property for the same reason, and now you're selling your own daughter, who has been a shame to get rid of her, waw! What a great father."

When she spoke herself out, her father had already gone.

Taya's speech stunned the maid, who opened her eyes in shock. She had confirmed three times that the Duke had not heard his daughter's low talk, or else she would be dead now, or perhaps death would be a mitigating punishment for her crime.

"Now I made sure that my lady had completely lost her mind," the maid whispered, looking at her lady, who was throwing the pillows on the floor without stopping.

"Have you gone crazy, madam? What happened to you? Why did you act strangely?"

The maid cried.

"Don't touch me; better know your place."

Taya kept Maid's hands away from her. She hated this kind of treatment by others.

Even though she was the most beautiful girl in the seven kingdoms, her father did not allow her to attend any official party or be in any family banquet in the capital; he was treating her as his denial.

"Destiny has responded to my prayers and gave me a chance, and I don't want to live a terrible life again. I'm Taya Rodolphe Diduchi, and I swear I will make this life an opportunity to correct all my previous mistakes, starting with the biggest of which is to marry Orig. "

Taya said to herself, feeling that her heart was in great pain.

She finally had the opportunity to change her life; perhaps she might be able to turn the scales and make her family love her and give her the respect she deserves.

"What do I see? Are you smiling? Huh, Taya, I doubt you have beautiful memories to make you happy; don't show me this face; it's disgusting."

That voice was cold, and it was harboring a lot of hatred. Taya ignored her; she just sighed.

"I've heard that your marriage will be decided tonight; I mean, wow, we'll finally get rid of you."

A brown, short-haired girl laughed; she had a mole near her left eye, putting a diamond pin on her front traits.

"I see that you left your problems and emptied your mouth just to take care of my concerns, Sister Yuray. I advise you to watch your fiancé; he is not as loyal as you think."

Before Taya could complete her speech, her other cheek turned red. Her eldest sister Yuray came to make a fool of her and caused her chaos, but Taya turned the table on her.

"How dare you accuse my fiancé, Onyas? Did you forget that he is the king's cousin? By the way, these are false accusations."

Yuray stated, she shrieked as her eyes met Taya's dark and cold features.

"I'm just trying to help; betrayal is not limited to a particular community class, and my father is the biggest example, and I am the guide in front of you."

Another slap sound, which left a red flag on Taya's right cheek, 'Damn it, 'Taya whispered under her breath as she pulled her hair back.

"Why don't you just die? You're nobody, Taya; no matter what you say or do, no one will accept you; you are a curse."

'Yuray's fiancé will be caught several times in brothels; he will cause more than one scandal and bring shame to himself and Yuray. I was just trying to get her to avoid suffering later.' thought while putting some cold water on her cheeks.

"Well, Taya, you have to focus on yourself; you won't be able to protect everyone from their destiny, so be selfish for once and think of your benefits."

Taya said to herself. A couple of minutes passed after Yurai's departure, many maids entered her small room, carrying some precious dresses and some jewelry.

"This is a request from the Duchess lady," said the maid, who put the bracelets and clothes on the bed.

"I can handle myself."

She said, pointed for them to leave her a lone; her stepmother chose those dresses, which were not on her size; Taya still remembered how she had suffered a lot to wear the dress, that made her late to attend her birthday party, and she was scolded by her father.

"This is old fashion, and I will not wear such a dress; it wastes my beauty."

said Taya, who was watching the door as if she were waiting for someone to enter. She started to worry that the party would start and she was not preparing herself yet.

"My lady, they asked me to put these gifts in your room; it's from Prince Dean Michael apologizing for being unable to attend your birthday party, and he sent them with his messenger."

The servant uttered, making the room full of boxes.

"I'm sure there were dresses in one of the boxes; in the past, I accepted his gifts, although he is the prince of a marginal kingdom, and this will harm the reputation of the family, so Father burned them before my eyes because I didn't get rid of it right away."

Taya whispered; her eyes were shining as she took out the dress that was in the last box; she noticed it later, but she had no time to read it, so she left it on the table.

"My lady, aren't you ready yet? The guests have all arrived; they are waiting for you."

Said the maid who was responsible for Taya's escort to the concert hall, Taya did not respond to her, so the maid worried and went to bring the head of maids.

The party was prepared to be in the huge hall, which was decorated with the most beautiful rare roses, candles, and lamps that illuminated the place in a distinctive way; it was more lightening than any other part of their big house.
