Chapter 5

Her thoughts were cut by the loud knock on the door; it was her maid.

"Madam, your father wants to come right now."

The maid was scared and trembling; her face was full of bruises. Taya knew that her father had punished all the servants and angered at them because of her.

With every step she took, Taya was sure that no man would ever accept her; even Orig wouldn't marry her after what she had done; he didn't like the ladies who forced themselves on him.

The smile of victory never faded and was clear on her face. By this, she would stay at her family's house and fix the things between them, but deep in her heart she was eager to see Orig.

She entered her father's office after he allowed her to. Her father was sitting in his chair, and he looked so upended; those sharp gazes of his were warning that he was a volcano and would explode in her face at any moment.

"Have a sit, Taya."

Her father spoke her name for the first time. Taya felt that she was in big trouble; she did not object but sat down like a good girl.

"Because of what you said at the party, there was no man left in the kingdom to marry a rude, disrespectful girl like you, and I am overwhelmed with debts, as you said. I have no choice but to sell you, your cheap little daughter, to be the concubine of the brother of the crown prince; he offered me this option yesterday, and I did not see the harm in it."

Her father stated with a sigh, watching her surprise features; it was out of her expectations.

"What?"

She let out her voice. She shut her mouth with both hands. 'That degenerate, how dare he dare suggest that I be his maid?'

Taya said to herself. She stood, unable to control herself anymore; it was too much for her.

"The crown prince's brother will come to take you this evening; you should be grateful that he will come personally to take a girl like you."

Her father said, watching Taya, who approached the table and hit it hard.

"I don't want to go with a pervert like him; if my mother was alive, my life would have been better than this shit."

Taya spoke loud, leaving her father's office, ignoring his screams completely. He would not try to torture her or sabotage the body of his merchandise and his only chance to make money, so he left her on her own.

Taya sat on the balcony, wiping her tears. "This couldn't be my destiny; live as a maid in the king's palace; its biggest insult to a lady from the noble family," Taya whispered. She heard footsteps walking behind her.

"Hey! You deserve it after you insulted a member of the royal family? What did you think?"

Yuray said, gloating about Taya's situation.

"For your information, the crown prince's brother imprisoned every man who had the desire to marry you. Do you believe he did all this for a nobody like you? I pity him."

Taya was angry at her sister's talk, and at the same time, she was surprised that the crown prince might go that far with her.

Taya went without replying to Yuray; she headed to her room. She was sitting in bed watching the servants packing her things.

"Ma'am, should I put this letter and books in your bag or leave it?"

The maid asked, but Taya did not pay attention to her speech; she was so obsessed with thinking about how things got to this point.

When the maid did not find a response from her lady, she put the letter inside her lady's bag with the rest of the books and some pictures. These were the orders of the great lady Lucy, packing all of Taya's belongings, which did not exceed a small travel bag.

Her stepmother confiscated all the jewelry and gifts that Taya had obtained, and all this did not move a hair in Taya.

Evening came quickly, and the crown prince's brother arrived ahead of schedule.

Taya was staring at her house, standing next to the carriage. The crown prince's brother was standing next to her, whispering in her ear in a hoarse voice:

"What were you doing with that called Orig? Is that the kind of man you're throwing yourself at? Is he your stander?"

His words erupted Taya, who raised her hand and slapped him hard, surprising everyone, even her father, who thought this lady had lost her mind.

"That's the last thing we've been missing out—the final drama of the princess of troubles," scowled Yuray, turning her eyes in boredom.

"You know, I just accepted to take you, just to enjoy your body; if there was a way I would have sewn your mouth, I would be glad to."

The crown prince's brother spelled it out as he turned to the sound of dozens of carriages that had come in front of Taya's gate.

The crown prince's brother received a strong punch, falling to the ground. Taya could not believe the person standing in front of her.

"Orig"

Whispered Taya. Orig bowed in front of her while he kept his head on the ground to say in his hoarse voice, "Taya Rodolphe Diduchi, marry me." His speech shocked everyone, including the brother of the crown prince who tried to get up.

Never before has Prince Orig bowed to anyone other than his stepmother and his grandfather; he has always been known for his arrogance and bad temper.

Taya felt this was a miracle, as if fate did not want her to give up her feelings for this man.

"You can't marry her; she's now my maid; I lost a hundred gold pieces on her."

Orig put his sword in the mouth of the crown prince's brother, who was trembling in fear; he was sweating. Orig's looks were scary.
