Hunting Wild Animals

After breakfast, they began preparing for the journey ahead. A total of six people were part of the hunting party. They gathered the supplies that they would need for the hunt. Most of them were wooden clubs, spears, knives, rope, water, and food. With their preparations complete, they bid farewell to their families. Then they set off into the forest.

After a half an hour of walking in the plains, they reached the rainforest, Chayil's eyes widened in amazement. "These trees are huge!" he whispered to himself, marveling at the greenery surrounding them.

They continued to walk deeper into the forest. And as they did so, they arranged themselves in a cross formation. They positioned Chayil in the center together with one of the villagers, while Rad was in the north side.

'Cross formation, huh?' Chayil muttered as he observed them.

The cross formation is designed to widen their field of vision. One person goes north, another east, one west, and one south, with one in the center who will build traps. Each person has a distance of forty meters apart so they can have a larger territory in hunting animals. With this, they can also scan their surroundings to determine which side they are on. They can also avoid the traps and coordinate their movements silently.

"It seems hunting may sound fun but it's actually dangerous," Chayil blurted out with a furrowed brow. "And what do you usually go after when you are hunting?" he asked one of them.

"They're deers, mostly," the villager answered. "Their antlers fetch a good price. But they're quick and alert and they're not easy to catch. That is why we set traps in places where they like to hang out. You know, like thickets, wooded areas, or spots near streams..."

Every type of animal has a category of strength. Level one is for normal wild animals. Level two has enhancements in their abilities. It can be either strength or agility, and they call them Betas. The last category is for leaders or bosses that have both enhancements. They are called Alphas.

The difference between Betas and normal ones is that Betas have bright crimson eyes, and for Alphas, there's a gem-like object embedded in their heads.

As they continued their journey, a sudden rustle caught their attention. The villager in the east raised a hand, signaling urgently that there was a boar.

Rad swiftly moved to the eastern position while others followed. "Stay on your ground and be alert," Rad whispered. The villagers nodded, and they proceeded cautiously.

While Rad walked, the crunch of twigs and leaves underfoot was the only sound in the tense silence.

Chayil's eyes widened in disbelief as he caught sight of the boar. 'I-is that even a boar?' he thought out loud.

At a height of one hundred eighty centimeters, the boar seemed like a giant. And it dominated the space around them. Its grunts even echoed loudly in the forest.

The villagers noticed Chayil was shocked. One of them reassured him, "Don't worry, that's a normal boar."

Still processing the information, Chayil clarified, "Seriously? It's not a Beta Boar? Can Dad really take on such a huge boar?"

As the boar moved, its rough, prickly fur scraped against nearby trees, creating a loud scratching sound. Its heavy footsteps thudded on the ground.

The villagers grinned confidently. "Yes. Your father is more than capable of handling it."

Chayil stared as his father walked up to the boar, taking his club from his back.

The boar sensed Rad's presence, and it made a grunting sound.

"Hruuunnnttt!"Then it suddenly charged toward him.

Rad calmly positioned himself, and Chayil could see the determined look on his face.

As the boar got closer, Chayil heard the swish of the club through the air.

"Thuds!"

The club hit the boar's head and it went rolling. Chayil could hear it crashing through the underbrush.

To his shock, the club seemed to be shattered by the impact. And Chayil could see the broken pieces scattered on the ground.

'Wow, I want to fight with Rad.' he thought.

Since Chayil was an undefeated champion before, he felt challenged by Rad's strength.

Due to their focus on watching Rad, they didn't notice another boar charging from behind towards Chayil.

Rad immediately spotted it and swiftly ran towards Chayil, urgently saying and pointing, "Behind you!"

Chayil quickly turned and used his right arm to shield himself. The boar attacked and it hit Chayil. He was sent flying backward by the force, but Chayil managed to deliver a left straight punch to the boar's head.

The boar dropped to its knees due to Chayil's punch. Rad immediately punched its face, burying it into the ground.

Chayil muttered to himself as he witnessed Rad's strength, 'He seems to have the same strength as the figure in Black Armor.'

"How are you, Chayil?" Rad asked.

Chayil checked his shoulder and replied, "It's just a small scratch."

After the incident, the two villagers apologized to Rad and Chayil for neglecting to watch their backs.

A couple minutes passed, and the boar was now secured. The group swiftly improvised a makeshift stretcher with long bamboo and rope to transport their bounty.

"Hey everyone," Rad called out, " let's come back tomorrow to check the trap for deers."

"Yes, Rad," The villagers nodded as they walked back home.

After a while, they had already returned to the village. The villagers were cheering and celebrating the successful hunt. They began cutting the boar into stock and dividing it among the villagers.

Krayna called out as he saw Chayil., "Brother! Brother! Wait!" she shouted while she was running up to Chayil with eager eyes. "I saw you outside! Did you go hunting? Tell me what happened!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

Chayil chuckled, patting her hair. "Yeah, we went hunting. It was quite an adventure."

When they went home he shared the story of their hunting trip and acted out each moment..

Krayna couldn't help but laugh at her brother's animated storytelling even though his face was stoic.

The next morning, Rad and the others headed back into the forest to check their trap. Chayil, however, remained behind.

Esmar approached him, her brow furrowed. "Why aren't you joining your father, Son?" she inquired, placing a hand on Chayil's shoulder.

"I skipped my training yesterday," Chayil replied, " I'm just trying to catch up. Maybe I can come with them again next time."

"Make sure to wrap your hands with bandages before you start so you can avoid scratches, alright?" Esmar recalled.

Chayil gave a quick nod, "Got it, Mom. Heading out now."

"Alright, just make sure you're back by lunch," Esmar replied with a warm smile.

Chayil acknowledged her with a determined look before heading off.

Along the way, he spotted Das and gestured for him to join. And together, they engaged in training exercises.

After an hour of practice, Chayil turned to Das. "How about a duel?" he suggested. "This time, you charge at me with a wooden sword. I won't attack. I'll just defend."
