"Duel? Again?" Das replied. "I still don't think I can beat you, Chayil."
"Why don't we see first?" Chayil replied, assuming his position.
Das grabbed the wooden sword and readied himself. "Are you ready?" he asked, and Chayil nodded again.
Das moved forward and he swung the sword diagonally to the left and then to the right, the whooshing sound of the wooden sword cut through the air.
But Chayil was able to dodge every attack from Das, reading its movements effortlessly.
Suddenly, Das launched a thrusting attack. With quick reflexes, Chayil moved backward, feeling the soft give of the ground beneath his feet. He narrowly avoided the strike, and the training area echoed with the sounds of their movements.
As their sparring continued, with Chayil skillfully dodging each move, Das complimented, "Impressive improvement in such a short time, Chayil. You really are your father's son."
Chayil, breathing steadily, responded, "You should amp up your training too, Das, so you can keep up."
Despite the five years age gap, their bond grew during a month of training. Das consistently assisted Chayil, frequently joining him in his morning or afternoon training.
After an hour of sparring, Das halted his attacks, managing only one final blow on Chayil. He spoke between heavy breaths, "I can't keep going. My legs and arms are killing me."
Chayil, still in a fighting stance, offered encouragement, "Why not join me for morning runs? It'll improve your footwork."
"Sorry, I can't do the early wake-up," Das, with a regretful tone, replied."How do you manage it?"
Chayil, taking a moment to reflect, shared, "It's become a habit for me." As he thought, ' maybe, Im rushing to go into the light dungeon.'
After their training session, Chayil and Das parted ways. Chayil made his way home to assist his mother and Krayna in preparing food.
"Took them quite a while to get back," Esmar remarked, noticing Rad's late return.
"Perhaps they snagged two deers and had a run-in with another boar," Chayil replied.
In the midst of their preparations, a sudden noise from outside disrupting the usual calm.
Chayil, alarmed, quickly took a look outside and was stunned to see gigantic wolves at the village center.
They appeared to be a group of large blue wolves with terrifying eyes. Their fangs dripped with saliva as they prepared to devour their prey.
Chayil bolted towards their house. "Mom, close all the doors and windows. Now!" He instructed urgently.
Esmar swiftly moved to secure the house, shutting every possible entry point.
Meanwhile, Chayil hastened back to the village center. He wanted to ensure the safety of the villagers and help them escape from the threat of the giant wolves. However, on his way to the center, he witnessed a distressing scene - a wolf lunged at a helpless villager.
Reacting without a moment's hesitation, Chayil surged forward. Seizing an opportune moment when the wolf briefly diverted its attention, Chayil leaped onto its back, locking his arms around its neck and hugging its body with his legs.
He used all of his strength to subdue the creature. "Quick, run!" he urgently shouted to the villager, who promptly sprinted to safety, heeding Chayil's call.
Growl
The wolf struggled, unable to bite or claw at Chayil with him firmly on its back. After a few tense seconds, his relentless hold took its toll and the wolf collapsed.
Chayil went straight toward the center and saw a pack of wolves.
'There's eight of them,' he muttered, his jaw clenched.
Chayil's eyes darted to the scattered villagers that were still lingering outside and vulnerable to the approaching threat.
'Got to get them to safety,' he muttered under his breath.
Making a bold decision, Chayil stepped forward, drawing the attention of the wolves away from the vulnerable villagers.
As the wolves approached with menacing growls, Chayil's expression sent a silent message to the remaining villagers, urging them to slip away to safety.
Quietly, they followed his signal and vanished into hiding. However, the circling wolves closed in on Chayil, surrounding him
Chayil's brow furrowed, sweat trickling down his temple as he faced off against the wolves.
"Stay focused," he grunted to himself while he prepared himself to fight.
Grrrrrrrr
Chayil remained alert even as he struggled to face all of them as they surrounded him.
Suddenly, a wolf behind him lunged forward.
Anticipating its attack, he surprised it with a spinning back fist.
This technique involves rotating the body rapidly and delivering a punch with the back of the fist while turning. It's often used as a surprise attack or to catch opponents off guard.
The blow landed on the wolf's face, eliciting a painful growl.
However, another wolf suddenly bit his foot and pulled him down.
Chayil lost his balance and fell to the ground.
He tried to stand. But there were two wolves who simultaneously lunged at his body. One was on his left hand. The other was on his right waist, and the other was on his legs. Their teeth sunk deep into his flesh in a coordinated assault.
While in pain, he smashed the wolf's head that had bitten his waist. Meanwhile, his left hand grabbed the upper part of the wolf's mouth that was biting his hand. with a grunting voice, he used all his strength to sit up, lifted the wolf, and then slammed it to the ground with all his might.
Baamm
The lone wolf whose teeth were still sanked on his leg, backed off and moved backward.
While Chayil was still seated, he felt another wolf lunging towards his neck to bite him.
However, Chayil managed to move his body to the right to evade it and he delivered a left elbow blow to the wolf's face. Then he quickly stood up.
As blood dripped from his hand, waist, and foot, he struggled to stand up properly and put weight on his injured foot. But his eyes darted to his attackers, determined to defeat them.
"Five more to go," he blurted as he breathed heavily.
Another wolf charged from behind to prevent Chayil from resting.
Once again, Chayil executed a spinning back fis
However, upon impact, the wolf caught his fist, causing it to only slide back from the force.
"What?" Chayil's eyes widened in surprise at the wolf's unexpected defens. "Do they have intelligence too?",
Taking advantage while its companion locked its jaw in Chayil's hand, another wolf lunged from the side.
Chayil used his uninjured leg to deliver a kick, knocking down the attacking wolf. Then he forcefully dropped to the gr. Quickly, he applied ang a Triangle choke to the wolf whose jaw was locked in his hand.
In Triangle choke, the fighter uses their legs to create a triangular grip around the opponent's neck and one of their arms. This effectively cuts off blood flow to the opponent's brain, causing them to lose consciousness if the choke is applied properly.
Three more wolves attempted to attac him as he fought off the wolf while in his wounded state putting him in a tight spot.
Fortunately,, a number of villagers who can fight arrived just in time to help him.
Seeing them, Chayil's lips lifted in a smile. "Thanks," he mumbled, feeling relieved.
The wolves were now outnumbered and outmatched and they found themselves unable to withstand the villagers' assault. With each sirike of their spears, they were pushed back towards the entrance.
Suddenly, a spear flew with incredible speed, striking one of the wolves.
Sensing the increasing danger, the remaining two wolves quickly turned back and fled into the wilderness.
The villagers turned their attention to the source of the well-aimed spear. To their relief and surprise, it was Rad and another villager, returning with two freshly hunted deer.
Chayil and the other villagers exchanged smiles of gratitude and relief. They helped Chayil stand and supported him as he walked.
