CHAPTER 52: FALLING OUT!

Alice sneered when she saw that Anna had quickly come back to her senses and analyzed the situation pretty quickly.

She had been itching for a long time for this moment to arrive. So, when the other pointed at her, she who had suppressed her emotions after getting framed left and right by Briar, couldn't stand it as well and rose to her feet, clicking her tongue.

The guests at seeing that, all sat properly as they looked in the direction of the two known best friends, about to tear each other's faces apart.

Those who felt their hearts getting ripped at the thought of Logan marrying some mysterious woman suddenly felt better at seeing the drama which was about to unfold.

As for Logan, he didn't bother to stop it.

Since Anna was so shameless, then they might as well strip her original face in public. That way, she won't bother trying to act shameless again or plot another innocent victim with her tactics.

"Why are you pointing at me like that?" Alice scoffingly asked as she sized Anna from head to toe.

Seeing that from Alice, Anna was more certain that she had been fooled. She couldn't help but burst angrily, "You knew about this and you didn't tell me!" accusing Alice of betrayal.

Alice burst into laughter as she clapped her hands, stepping away from the table, and the way she looked at Anna was very different and a bit too cold, so icy it made those who saw them together a while ago shudder with fear while inwardly they wondered, 'just what did Anna do to be treated by Alice like that?'

After all, in Alice's eyes, they could see immense hatred towards the other, which had been concealed well in the beginning, and yet now Alice wasn't even bothering to hide.

How did these two friends fall out so quickly?

"So, what if I knew? Am I supposed to tell you? Who are you that I should tell my family matters to?"

Anna choked when the barrage of questions was thrown at her.

How dare this idiot ask her such questions? Didn't she know who she was?

However, before she could respond, her mother, who was still reeling in shock, stood up, yelling, suddenly taking everyone by surprise.

"You bastard! How dare you fool my daughter? Did you plan this to mock her and insult her?" Madam Hilary was no longer concerned about reputation.

Could it be eaten?

"Which vixen seduced you so that you married her without even worrying about the children? If you were going to remarry, don't you see my baby here right next to me? She is the perfect mother of her sister's children and your wife. How dare you pick any hussy from the streets and shamelessly announce in front of everyone and make my daughter look like an idiot?"

Listening to Madam Hilary losing her demeanor and yelling like a shrew most ladies in their circle would try their best to suppress despite the urge to go haywire. They could only shake their heads, disdain written all over their faces.

"How could someone be so shameless?"

"Hah! Just because he once married the sister, he should marry the other one? Who wrote that kind of law?"

"Hah! She is perfect for the kids and Mr. Logan. Hah, who are they kidding? I haven't seen Anna talking with the kids at all and yet she is a suitable mother?"

"She only wants the man to give birth to his children and kick aside her sister's children. What a shameless daughter?"

"It's a pity that the kids got such people as relatives. I would rather not have such relatives like these. They are embarrassing!"

Anna didn't know where to look as these mocking words continued to reach her ears. Her mother, as if on drugs, didn't rest for a moment as she continued to hurl insults at Logan, who looked at them with a murderous gaze that sent shivers down her spine and made her legs weak.

"Mother, you …. Please stop!" she said, desperately tugging her mother's sleeve, but Madam Hilary was simply so angry at this point.

Paaaaa.

Madam Hilary raised her hand, slapped Anna's cheek so fast with a ferocious gaze in her eyes that no one was able to stop her in time and angrily spat, "Useless!" before shifting her focus to Mad Meyer who was watching everything with relish, got angered and hurled more insults as well.

However, was Madam Meyer someone to be underestimated just because she loved living peacefully?

"Madam Hilary, I respect you as the grandmother of my grandchildren, but what makes you think that you are so special that my son should revolve around your children?"

"You_"

"I don't care what you and your family had been plotting behind our backs, but just know this. I will deal with you accordingly. You have made my family a fool for so many years. And to think that you actually thought of sending this unclean daughter of yours to my son, do you think that she is worthy?" Madam Meyer looked at the mother and daughter with disgust on her face.

How dare they try to send someone who had been involved with so many men to become her daughter-in-law?

What if she brought some disease and spread it to her son?

Was she trying to take the only son she gave birth to? How dare she?

Anna was so furious at hearing Madam Meyer's accusations. Despite being panicky at the thought of having her secret deeds caught, and the fact that she was stripped clean in public, she glared at Madam Meyer, all the respect she used to have for the woman already gone.

Without Madam Meyer or Anna explaining the matter, the guests available could sense that there was something fishy about Anna's conduct. They couldn't help but look at her in another way.

Don't judge the book by its cover, they say.

However, just because Anna didn't retort, did that mean that her mother didn't know how to talk?

After getting her secret thoughts exposed, she dared to open her mouth and shamelessly responded, "What's wrong with my thought? And how dare you say that my daughter is dirty? Can your daughter even compare to mine?"

Comparing Anna and Alice, was Madam Hilary blind or what? Anyone could see what was what without any hassle. So, what was this lady talking about?

Nonetheless, Logan, who had been silent for a long time, interjected and stopped this battle of words in the process.

"I don't care about your thoughts, Madam Hilary. What you need to know is that, even if I am blind or deranged, I will never fall for your family's tricks. If you respect Selena, then contain yourself. Let us not part ways in bad ways. Don't make an enemy out of me. I will make you regret it regardless of being relatives with my kids," he said warningly as he looked at his former mother-in-law.

"You_"
