CHAPTER 55: HER DESTINY 2

The ancestor looking at Briar, who was hysterically confessing her crazy thoughts to her couldn't help but mumble inwardly, 'Madness! She is a crazy one, but we love her!'

Unlike the people who pretend to be who they weren't even in the face of people who knew their greatest desires. Facing this descendant who had been crazy from a young age, and knew how to mask herself pretty well, they found her more pleasing to the eyes.

That was why they wanted her.

If she could disregard her affection and her obsession, she would become a perfect spiritualist. After all, when one is devoid of lingering emotions, they would be able to do anything, and they would benefit.

Unfortunately, her obsession was strong. And if they take that child now, they doubted they would be able to suppress her in spirit form.

This calamity was better left off in the real world than dragging her to the spirit realm.

By the time she dies of natural causes, maybe her obsession would be less and even if she comes, they won't have to live their spiritual life for fear of being annexed.

Nevertheless, her talent was something that they couldn't pass on just because she wanted to be with her loved ones.

There should be a way to deal with this matter, right?

After all, the clock is ticking and with every second that is lost, they would be losing as well.

As she was thinking like that, Briar suddenly said, "If you give me a favorable deal, who knows what kind of choice I might make!" her lips curled mischievously as she looked at her.

When she heard that, the ancestor's eyes suddenly lit up as she looked at Briar and hurriedly asked, "What do you have in mind?"

Thus, starting a lengthy discussion, which left all sides with happy smiles on their faces at the end.

 ****

Back to reality, it's been a few days since the birthday banquet, and the news was spreading a bit too fast than expected.

Inside the Hilary's villa, Anna was sitting on the carpet with a gloomy expression on her face, listening to her father hurling insults at her mother.

"You are an adult. How could you lose your manners at such a banquet? Now see what is happening. I can't even walk around with my head high. Do you know the kind of consequences that this issue had caused for the company?" Mr. Hilary was so furious when she thought of how his family had become a laughingstock.

If it was only Anna who was embroiled in the scandal, then measures could be taken, but his wife just had to let out her shrewish side and insult Logan, the son-in-law that they had been relying on.

How could she?

At this moment, he even forgets that he was one of the people who was pushing his wife and daughter to bring Logan to Anna's side.

All he could see were the two's faults and none of his own.

Anna listening to her parents quarreling, her hatred for Alice and the unknown wife she hadn't seen increased.

In her eyes, Logan wasn't wrong. All these years, he had remained chaste. For him to suddenly marry, it must be his family who pressured him. Otherwise, she must have gotten a chance.

Alice betrayed her and until now, she still didn't understand why she would do that to her.

In these past days, she had been laughed at. She couldn't even attend the clubs she was used to going. It was as if everyone was avoiding her like a plague.

The last time she called Alice trying to understand what was going on, the other had replied to her, 'I will make your life horrible for using me. This is just the start!'

Of course, when she heard that, she panicked, and her heart turned cold.

She had found out something, that's what came to mind when she heard that.

She admitted that she wasn't the best friend ever. After all, there were reasons why she befriended Alice in the first place.

Why was she inferior to that bastard sister of hers?

With such a cruel heart, she could have Logan's heart. Then what about her?

Why couldn't she have it?

However, showing her fangs early wouldn't do her any good, so she bided for time. She played with Alice and turned her into her shield and a weapon that could fight for her to chase away those vixens who wanted to be close to Logan.

Unfortunately, among all vixens, she wasn't able to deal with Briar, that nanny and now there was Logan's wife. Just where did she come from?

She hadn't seen that woman yet, and she hated her so much, that she wanted to skin the other alive and cut off her flesh slowly.

Unfortunately, she had no idea that the person she wanted to perform such cruel acts was crueler and crazier than her.

When she thought of the news spreading online and then how her father's company was facing problems because of people trying to impress the Meyers. She knew that she needed to do something.

Confronting Alice would be impossible at this point. She was grounded at home and if she wanted to avenge herself, then she would need to do it in a way that wouldn't arouse suspicion. No matter what, she still has hope that one day Logan will come to her.

There was no one suitable to be his wife except her.

She was the kids' maternal aunt, and she had known the family for a long time. Whatever misunderstandings were between them, they could be worked on slowly.

However, if that couldn't be done, then she might as well destroy what she couldn't have.

What was the point of waiting for so long, only to have someone else benefit?

If she couldn't directly fight the battle, weren't there a few more people who could fight for her?

She won't be the only one affected by this matter.

After all, if she wasn't mistaken, there was still someone out there who knew how to pretend more than her.

That person was a four-faced snake. As long as she triggered her, who knows what might happen?

If the plan works, then she might end up as the final winner.

As she thought of this plan, a sinister smile blossomed on her face.

She raised her head and looked at her parents, who were still exchanging words, not willing to back down, and said, "Stop quarreling. Since I am the cause of this matter, I will rectify everything. Just give me some time. I will make sure that we will get back everything that we have lost and, most importantly, get the Meyers back on our side," her lips curled upwards and added, "In fact, I will make them beg us to have them. You just need to trust me, this once!" no longer bothered with hiding her true face.

Since they had lost their face together, she might as well go all out.

After all, it was a do-or-die situation now.
