Dragon Slayer VS Dragons VS Acnologia... Vs Gods? 2

What were the limits of my fire? How was the Dragon Emperor able to not only withstand my flames but hold them back to prevent them from touching his body, thereby burning him out of existence? Simple, what do you think Dragon Emperor Magic was? It was a magic which had 3 abilities.

1. His magic is far more effective on all dragons, while at the same time, all dragon-type magic is less effective upon him. This also carries over to all forms of magic, which allowed his magic to combat all forms of magic, be it time magic, space magic, or other forms of magic.

2. His magic was the strongest, even the Apocalyptic Dragon was only his rival when boosted to the peak through chaos.

3. What did the Dragon Emperor Eat? Well, he eats nothing. A price for such powerful magic came at a price, even so, he made up for it by having the strongest magic among the dragons.

The Apocalyptic Dragon was different, it grew stronger from not only chaos but also from being empowered from the deeper his mind got closer to chaos, with the limit being that he would rival Dragon Emperor, although he would still lose thanks to him losing the power to use his brain.

Irene and the other's job was to try and draw away the attention of the Dragon Emperor to allow me to kill either the 5 headed Dragon King, the Sun Dragon King, or the Apocalyptic Dragon King. If just one of these dragons would die, then we would surely have the upper hand. But while I was busy trying to kill them, the Dragon Emperor and the other 4 dragons wanted to kill Irene or the other human.

The Dragon Emperor's full attention was on me, while the other Dragon King ensured Irene and the others couldn't get in the way of our battle. This led to us always being at a standstill, waiting for those on land to come to land support, but that was harder said than done.

"Ryu..." Erza entered my tent, just to pause seeing Irene who was sleeping on my lap, bathing in my flames, helping her recover and better rest. To think after a few months on the battlefield would allow us to get this close.

The flames that Irene was using as a blanket also had the added benefit of making her stronger. I came to call these new flames the Flames of Life, for they could do anything I wish, it's just that they created more than they could destroy.

"What's wrong?" I asked calmly, Irene should have wakened up, but the flame was burning the sound waves, allowing her to rest in peace.

"There is a problem with those with dragon slayer magic. They seem to be going insane." Erza said causing me to frown at her words. I looked at her slightly, before noticing that she was also becoming more dragonic.

"They are turning into dragons?" I asked my body turning into flames, before it split in half, before turning into a perfect copy of myself.

"How did you know?" She asked to which I explained how she was slowly losing her humanity, my flames should have slowed down this process, but as time passed, her using Dragon Slayer magic was having negative side effects.

I hesitated, realizing I couldn't remove the side effect. For this was the side effect of using the magic of a dragon, you become one. Soul and body.

So, I went on to wake up Irene. As the queen, Irene was the best person to handle this matter, not me. Irene's heart instantly dropped upon hearing this news, and we quickly headed to the tent where the world leaders sat, stressing over the matter of the Dragon Slayers turning into Dragons, and going insane.

The Dragon Slayers although were becoming dragon, they were deep down not dragons. When they do transform into a dragon, they also go berserk, as they lose their minds for a time. Many Dragon Slayers had to be killed by their close friends, and many people were starting to fear them, staying far away from them.

"We should stop the spread of this magic, and mark it as a lost magic. All who are still at war should stay on the battlefield, it's unsafe for them to return home." Samuel said calmly, making Irene frown as this was sending the Dragon Slayers to their death. They either die on the battlefield, or they would be killed by their allies.

"Ryu, can you purify those dragon slayers with your magic?" The Great Man Emperor ruler asked while looking at me. To that, I stepped forward while bowing lightly.

"My magic can slow down the dragonfication. This transformation this goes deep, I'm sure I could erase the side effects, but I would have to pretty much erase the person's capability to ever use magic... which is a fate worse than death. I say Irene should return to the empire, where she could start looking into these side effects." I said making everyone look at Irene, who threw a glare at me, for my actions were sending her away, limiting the risk of her turning into a dragon.

But everyone paused as a soldier entered the throne room and came to speak into Irene's ear, causing Irene's pupils to shrink at the words. Her body shook, showing how the news hit her.

"The Dragon Slayer known as Acnologia has grown stronger, and seems to be able to eat every form of magic. The force we sent after him have been slaughtered, and he devoured them all." Irene said trying her best to keep her cool,

"But Belserion..." Samuel said in shock, for Belserion a dragon who had stepped into the dragon King level not too long ago had led the army of dragons to stop Acnologia... that meant Acnologia was growing faster than we were expecting.

"I will go kill him," Irene said angrily, causing me to frown as a hint of darkness appeared on her pure soul. The Death of the closest being to her truly hit her hard, but Irene was Irene, she let out a breath as that hint of darkness disappeared, making me breathe in relief.

"No, the scarlet knight is right. Return home and try and find a means around this flaw in dragon slayer magic. We will buy you time," Samuel said seriously, to which we all paused as we didn't expect him to say such things, but we all agreed as Irene had to return to the empire and work.

"As for Acnologia, we would lead him into the enemy dragon forces, use him to weaken the enemy, either the Dragon Kings kill him, or he kills him. Either way, we would look for a moment before we strike. So, the fastest dragon should set out, and lead him to the enemy. They need to go the long way around." Samuel said to which we all nodded in agreement,

After a few more talks, I went on to head back to the empire with Irene who was quiet the whole way home. We didn't take much time, as soon I stood in Irene's room, watching her just laying on her bed to clear her mind.

"I'm sorry... but I would rather you hate me than you face this risk. If I must, I will seal you in the castle. I will kill Acnologia and get revenge for Belserion. For a moment there, your soul grew black," I said seeing as she didn't want to talk to me.

"..." Irene said nothing, just needing this moment of silence. So, I gave her just that. I could sense the battlefield, so if the 4 Dragon Gods made their move, I would only need a second to arrive there.

"This is my fault. I should have been more careful, yet my creation is what led to his death." Irene said through some tears,

"We rushed you, you were in a rush, and couldn't afford such things... it's my fault, if I didn't take so much of your attention, then you could have noticed the flaw with dragon slayer magic. I took your attention away and even pushed you to train. Again, I pushed you into doing something, which had such outcomes." I said stunning Irene who glared angrily at me, leaving me stunned.

"Stop it, you did nothing wrong. There are some things you can't take the blame for, I'm the queen, so at the end of the day, it's my responsibility. Though it all you have been my support..." Irene said through tears, unable to continue her words.

"But it is..." I said lightly, to which Irene gritted her teeth.

"Do you not realize how much you helped me, what time would I have had to look into dragon Slayer magic when I had to deal with forming trades with the other empire? What time would I have had when I was forced into marriage and had to deal with the war, and a marriage I didn't want?" Irene asked to which I said nothing as she had a point.

"You helped me get much-needed rest, and helped me grow stronger..." She said lightly while removing my helmet. I said nothing allowing her to throw my helmet to the side. She hesitated, her face slowly coming closer to my face, but I pulled my face away.

"I don't want to do it like this... I don't think we should lose our first time to coup the death of a friend." I said lightly, this was common, using the act of sex to distract oneself intentionally and in a way to self-medicate during an emotional time. Before she was even the queen, Belserion was at her side, flying her around the world as she expended her knowledge... and now he was gone.

"... You're right." She said while pulling me onto the bed, where she had me sit down, before removing my armor, where she used my lap as a hair pillow. I sat there, playing with her head while my eyes were closed.

'Acnologia...' I thought hatefully, the first time I heard this name, I knew I heard it from the anime, but I had other matters to deal with. But as I sat there, I could slowly recall the events related to Acnologia, a dragon slayer who would slay all of the dragons... as the queen's knight, that dragon needed to die.

"You should return to the battlefield," Irene said while sitting up, just for me to pull her back into my lap,

"Get all of the rest, I'm not needed right now, so I shall stay at your side," I said lightly, to which Irene shook her head.

"I'm the queen, I have no time to rest." She said while standing up, she just needed a moment to put everything behind her. I nodded at her words, while putting my armor and helmet back on, but Irene stopped me.

"Can I kiss you?" She asked, to which I paused for a split second before I nodded seeing no problem with that request. So, Irene slowly brought her lips to mine, gently touching them, before she pulled away with a blush.

"G-go." She said to which I nodded lightly, using my armor to hide my embarrassment, and so I left...

A huge black dragon was seen eating the body of a dragon, it didn't care if this dragon was an ally of the human race or foe. It was a dragon, and for that it deserved death. But sadly the poor black dragon couldn't enjoy its meal as from the sky, a light dragon shot a beam at the black dragon, enraging the dragon who glared at the dragon before bursting towards it.

The Light Dragon wasted no time, turning into a beam of light and shooting off at high speed, but this was not the only major thing that happened to happen at the same time.

The 4 dragon kings were currently looking at the messenger they sent to get the Dragon King of Ishgar, whose strength was nearing the Dragon God tier, to join them. But that dragon king had made his stance clear to all.

"H-he said, The One and Only Igneel will stand on the side of humans... he said come and change his mind." The Dragon said in fear since the 4 dragons ordered him to say, word for word what the Dragon King said.

"That arrogant Dragon!" The Dragon Emperor spread open his wings, and with a flap of his wings, he shot off followed by the 3 other dragons. Igneel couldn't join the battlefield or else the humans would surely win... they had to kill Igneel.

Back within the Empire, Rung who had married one of the nobles of the empire looked at me with narrowed eyes as I left to return to the battlefield.

"Your death is around the corner..." He said a smirk forming on his face, things were playing perfectly for the Holy Light Empire.
