Today, Yin Yin finished filming earlier, while Su Mo's scenes were scheduled to wrap up around 8 o'clock.
After finishing his scenes, Su Mo bid farewell to the director and headed to the dressing room to change clothes.
Dudu had already returned to the hotel, eager to spend time with his wife and son.
The dressing room was empty when Su Mo arrived. After changing out of his ancient costume, he reached for his white shirt in the closet.
The white shirt highlighted his smooth muscle lines, broad shoulders, and narrow waist, with a hint of the mermaid line subtly visible—a strikingly sexy look. His handsome face, with its picturesque features and a touch of coldness, completed the effect.
Outside, a commotion erupted.
"Sister Xin, you can't go in. Brother Mo is changing clothes."
"Get out of my way."
Su Mo's brows furrowed slightly at the noise. His slender fingers moved quickly to button his shirt. Just as he was fastening the last button, the dressing room door burst open.
Su Mo glanced over with visible displeasure as Liang Xin entered. Seeing that Su Mo was already dressed, a flash of annoyance crossed Liang Xin's face.
She had been trying to get closer to Su Mo ever since she decided she wanted him for herself. However, Su Mo was always accompanied by either Yin Yin or his assistant, leaving Liang Xin no opportunity. The assistant seemed to be aware of her intentions and kept a close watch, preventing any chance of interaction.
Liang Xin found it puzzling that Yin Yin was always by Su Mo's side. She had heard that Yin Yin, known for her cold demeanor, rarely interacted with others. It seemed odd that she was so attentive to Su Mo now. Liang Xin speculated that Yin Yin must be romantically interested in Su Mo, especially considering Yin Yin was 35 and Su Mo was exceptionally handsome. Liang Xin's jealousy grew with each passing thought.
Unwilling to give up, Liang Xin was determined to win Su Mo for herself, especially if it meant competing with Yin Yin, whom she despised. She refused to believe that the older Yin Yin could outshine her youth and beauty.
When she learned that Su Mo had entered the locker room, Liang Xin, restless and impatient, followed him despite the assistant's attempts to stop her. Her anticipation was high, but when she arrived, Su Mo was already dressed. Her excitement turned to frustration, and she blamed the assistant for his lack of foresight.
"Ms. Liang, how did you get in?" Su Mo asked, his tone steady. "Didn't my assistant inform you that I was changing? It's quite rude to enter without permission."
Liang Xin, used to being praised and not accustomed to rejection, felt dismayed. However, she pressed on with her intention.
"I came in to speak with you," she said, moving closer. "Su Mo, I like you. Why don't you come with me?"
Su Mo was momentarily taken aback by Liang Xin's boldness, but given her past behavior, he was not particularly surprised. His expression hardened.
"Ms. Liang, I don't understand what you're saying. Please don't make such nonsense suggestions."
Su Mo had no desire to engage further; he was eager to return to his family.
-----
Liang Xin stopped Su Mo, lifted her chin, and said, "I can offer you resources and connections that will guarantee your fame." Her tone brimmed with unmasked pride.
Su Mo's assistant, Xiao Gao, nearly laughed in frustration. Liang Xin's arrogance was astounding. She spoke of resources and connections as if she had something extraordinary to offer. But Su Mo's wife, Yin Yin, was a top-tier actress with all the resources and connections anyone could need. Why would Su Mo need to rely on Liang Xin when he already had the support of his wife? Besides, Liang Xin was just a second-tier star; her connections and resources couldn't be that impressive.
Xiao Gao thought, *It's not as if Brother Mo is insane enough to choose Liang Xin over his own wife. Sister Yin Yin is not only far more beautiful but also a devoted wife. It's ludicrous to think he'd prefer Liang Xin.*
"Brother Mo, everything is packed. Let's go," Xiao Gao called out.
"Ms. Liang, I don't need your connections or resources. I don't know you well, and I'd appreciate it if you kept your distance," Su Mo said firmly.
With that, Su Mo ignored Liang Xin and walked away with long strides.
Liang Xin, brimming with confidence and expecting Su Mo to agree, was stunned by his refusal and the coldness of his demeanor. By the time she processed his reaction, Su Mo and Xiao Gao had already walked a considerable distance.
She couldn't understand why Su Mo was so confident. Did he really not need connections and resources? Did he not want to take shortcuts? Liang Xin was neither a wealthy old woman nor a pushover; she was young and attractive.
Liang Xin's assumptions were partly correct. Most newcomers in the entertainment industry would have jumped at the chance for connections and resources. But Su Mo was married to a top actress with ample resources. Why would he need to seek what Liang Xin offered?
"I won't give up," Liang Xin vowed to herself. She was determined to have Su Mo and would find a way to make him acknowledge her.
---
Due to Liang Xin's interference, Su Mo was slightly late when he returned.
Dudu, engrossed in his Lego, looked up eagerly towards the door. As soon as he saw Su Mo enter, his face lit up. He dropped his Lego and ran towards his father with joyful strides, exclaiming, "Dad!"
Seeing Dudu, Su Mo's earlier frustration melted away. He scooped up his son and planted a kiss on his fair cheek.
Behind him, Xiao Gao carried in Su Mo's things.
Yin Yin, observing the affectionate interaction between father and son, smiled warmly. "Why are you back late? Did the director delay your scene?"
"No," Su Mo shook his head.
Yin Yin noticed something amiss in Su Mo's demeanor and asked, "Did something happen?"
Su Mo, holding Dudu, hesitated, unsure whether to disclose the details.
"Xiao Gao, you explain," Yin Yin said, directing her question to Su Mo's assistant.
Xiao Gao, who was not only Su Mo's assistant but also a fan of Yin Yin, didn't hesitate to share the whole story about Liang Xin.
"…Sister Yin, Liang Xin is not a good person. When she looks at Brother Mo, it's like a wolf spotting prey. She's eager to make a big move," Xiao Gao described vividly.
Su Mo watched Yin Yin's reaction, worried she might misunderstand. After Xiao Gao finished, he quickly reassured her, "A Yin, I have nothing to do with Liang Xin. I don't like her at all."
