the battle against the mythical Djinns(10)

The molten chamber pulsed with heat as the battle between Dakota and the Djinn of Wrath raged on. Sparks and flames filled the air, the ground beneath them cracked and molten from the intensity of their attacks. Dakota's blue and white flames danced around him, a testament to his skill and power, but the Djinn of Wrath was proving to be a foe unlike any he'd faced before.

The Djinn's molten fists crashed into Dakota with relentless force, each blow sending shockwaves that reverberated through the cavern. Despite his best efforts, Dakota was struggling to keep up. His movements were sharp, his sword precise, but the sheer power of the Djinn's attacks left him battered and on the defensive.

Djinn of Wrath:

"Is this all you've got, mortal? You dare challenge me with such pitiful strength?"

The Djinn's taunts were accompanied by another devastating punch that sent Dakota flying into the cavern wall. He crashed into the molten rock with a sickening thud, the heat searing his skin even through his aura of flames. Dakota groaned as he staggered to his feet, his sword trembling in his grasp.

Liam, Jack, and the others watched from the edge of the battlefield, their expressions a mixture of horror and disbelief.

Liam:

"Dakota's getting wrecked out there… I've never seen him take this kind of punishment."

Jack clenched his fists, his voice laced with frustration.

Jack:

"There's nothing we can do. That thing's power is on a whole different level."

Henry, standing next to Ava, grit his teeth as flames danced around his fists.

Henry:

"Damn it! He's fighting for all of us, and we're just standing here like useless spectators!"

Ava placed a hand on his shoulder, her voice calm but firm.

Ava:

"This isn't our fight. Dakota wouldn't want us to step in. We'd only get in his way."

The Djinn of Wrath advanced on Dakota, molten fire dripping from his massive frame. Each step sent tremors through the ground, his aura of destruction growing more oppressive with every passing second.

Djinn of Wrath:

"You're resilient, I'll give you that. But resilience alone won't save you."

With a roar, the Djinn raised both arms and brought them down in a hammering strike. Dakota rolled to the side just in time, narrowly avoiding the impact as the ground where he'd been standing erupted in a geyser of molten rock.

Dakota:

"You talk too much."

Despite his words, Dakota's breathing was labored, and his movements were slower than before. The Djinn was wearing him down, his overwhelming power and unrelenting attacks leaving little room for Dakota to mount a proper counteroffensive.

The Djinn swung again, his molten fists grazing Dakota's shoulder and sending him spinning to the ground. Before Dakota could recover, the Djinn followed up with a brutal kick that sent him skidding across the cavern floor.

Djinn of Wrath:

"You're out of your league, mortal. Surrender now, and I might grant you a quick death."

Dakota wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes locking onto the Djinn with unwavering determination.

Dakota:

"A quick death? Sorry, but I've got plans that don't include dying today."

As Dakota steadied himself, his mind raced. This fight wasn't just about survival. The Djinn's earlier words still echoed in his thoughts.

Djinn of Wrath: "You anomalies aren't supposed to exist."

Dakota thought back to his novel, to the characters he'd written, the world he'd created. The Djinn's knowledge of him and his companions didn't make sense. How could a being like this know about them?

Dakota (thinking):

"Did those three tell him? That would explain a lot, but why would they? And if they did… does that mean others might know about us too? Blazer? Fianna?"

He gritted his teeth, frustration and curiosity warring within him.

The Djinn of Wrath charged again, his molten body glowing brighter as his power surged. Dakota narrowed his eyes, gripping his sword tightly.

Djinn of Wrath:

"It's over, mortal. You've fought well, but all things must come to an end."

The Djinn swung both fists down in a crushing blow, aiming to end the fight once and for all. But as the attack descended, Dakota moved. His body blurred with speed, and in an instant, he was behind the Djinn.

Dakota:

"You're right about one thing. All things must come to an end."

The Djinn froze, a look of confusion flickering across his molten face. A thin, glowing line appeared across his torso, and a moment later, a surge of blue fire erupted from the wound.

Djinn of Wrath:

"What… What did you…?"

Dakota stood behind the Djinn, his sword glowing with an otherworldly light. He exhaled slowly, his expression calm and controlled.

Dakota:

"You didn't even see it coming, did you? That's what happens when you underestimate me."

The Djinn staggered, molten fire spilling from the deep slash across his stomach. His immense form flickered, his aura wavering as the damage began to take its toll.

The others watched in stunned silence, their earlier despair replaced with awe.

Liam:

"Did… Did Dakota just—?"

Ava:

"He actually landed a hit like that. I didn't even see him move."

Henry:

"Unbelievable. He's actually going to win."

Dakota turned to face the Djinn, his sword still glowing with the remnants of his devastating attack.

Dakota:

"You've caused enough trouble. Time to put an end to this."

The Djinn of Wrath glared at Dakota, his molten eyes burning with a mixture of rage and disbelief.

Djinn of Wrath:

"You… You think this is over? You've only delayed the inevitable, mortal."

Dakota raised his sword, the flames around him intensifying as he prepared to deliver the final blow.

Dakota:

"I've heard enough out of you. Goodbye, Djinn."

Dakota's sword poised to strike, the flames around him burning brighter than ever. The Djinn of Wrath, once an unstoppable force, now stood on the brink of defeat, his form flickering like a dying flame. The others held their breath, their eyes fixed on Dakota as he prepared to deliver the finishing blow. The Djinn of warth is going to be killed... But is he actually?
