the fight against Lisa's mother(1)

The battlefield was drenched in heat and shadow. Flames roared, burning away the darkness, only for the abyss to crawl back, consuming the light like an endless hunger. Craters marked the terrain, the ground blackened and split from the sheer force of the ongoing battle. The remains of shattered structures lay around them, testaments to the devastation their clash had already wrought.

Duke stood tall, his crimson cloak billowing in the heat of his own magic. Flames coiled around his arms like living serpents, ready to strike at a moment's notice. His golden eyes burned with determination, a mirror of the inferno within him.

Beside him, Franklin adjusted his stance, his own fire magic radiating an intense, almost white-hot glow. Unlike Duke's controlled and precise fire, Franklin's flames were raw, untamed, and aggressive. Sparks crackled in the air between them, their combined magic warping the very atmosphere.

Opposite them stood Lisa's mother—a specter of the abyss itself. She was a vision of pure darkness, her presence swallowing the surrounding light. Her long black robe shifted unnaturally, as if woven from the shadows themselves. Her eyes glowed with abyssal energy, cold and merciless. The darkness around her twisted and pulsed, forming nightmarish shapes that slithered and shrieked in the absence of light.

Lisa's Mother:

"Two flames against the abyss… how poetic. But fire cannot burn away what has no form."

Duke:

"Then let's test that theory."

He raised his hand, and the battlefield ignited.

Duke's first strike was immediate. With a flick of his wrist, the entire left side of the battlefield erupted in a massive blaze. The flames twisted into the shape of a roaring dragon, its massive jaws snapping shut as it rushed toward Lisa's mother.

Lisa's Mother merely lifted her hand.

The darkness around her solidified into an enormous claw, catching the flaming dragon in midair. The abyss crushed it, extinguishing the flames in an instant. But before she could react further, Franklin moved.

Franklin:

"Phoenix Burst!"

A pillar of searing white fire erupted from beneath her, consuming her entire figure in a whirlwind of flames. The intensity of Franklin's attack forced even Duke to take a step back, the heat nearly overwhelming.

But then—the flames flickered.

And from within, Lisa's mother emerged unharmed.

Lisa's Mother:

"A feeble attempt."

Her abyss expanded outward, swallowing the remaining flames, turning them into nothingness. And then—she countered.

Dark tendrils burst from the ground beneath Duke and Franklin, striking with the precision of spears. The two dodged in opposite directions, barely avoiding the abyssal spikes as they impaled the earth where they once stood.

Duke's eyes narrowed.

Duke:

"We need to go all out."

Franklin grinned, wiping sweat from his brow.

Franklin:

"I thought you'd never say it."

Scene 3: Unleashing Their Full Power

Duke took a deep breath. His entire body became wreathed in fire, his crimson flames intensifying into a radiant orange hue. The temperature around him skyrocketed, the air itself warping under the sheer heat of his power.

Duke:

"Solar Ignition Form."

His body became a living sun.

Franklin followed suit, his own flames shifting from orange to an eerie orange. Unlike Duke's radiant and controlled fire, Franklin's flames flickered unpredictably, almost chaotic in nature.

Franklin:

"Wildfire Mode."

The battlefield burned.

Duke struck first. He shot forward like a comet, his fist wreathed in a concentrated core of orange fire. He aimed straight for Lisa's mother's chest, intent on burning through the abyss itself.

Lisa's Mother reacted instantly. Shadows curled around her arm, solidifying into a massive black blade. She swung down, aiming to cleave Duke in two—

But Franklin was faster.

Franklin:

"Blazing Vortex!"

A whirlwind of blue fire intercepted the abyssal sword, shattering it into fragments of darkness.

Duke used the opening.

He twisted mid-air, his flaming fist slamming directly into Lisa's mother's side.

There was an explosion.

A shockwave tore through the battlefield, sending tremors through the ground. Lisa's mother was launched backward, crashing through several ruined structures before coming to a halt.

But—she was unharmed.

Lisa's Mother:

"You truly believe fire can burn away the abyss? How foolish."

The shadows around her body writhed, consuming the damage as if it had never happened.

Duke's eyes narrowed.

Duke:

"She's absorbing the energy of our attacks."

Franklin clicked his tongue.

Franklin:

"Then we burn her faster than she can absorb it."

The two fire mages moved as one.

Duke raised both arms, the flames around him coalescing into a massive golden spear. The sheer heat caused cracks to form in the ground beneath him.

Duke:

"Solar Spear of Judgment!"

At the same time, Franklin's body erupted in an inferno of blue flames. He twisted his hands, shaping the fire into a spiraling maelstrom of destruction.

Franklin:

"Wildfire Cataclysm!"

Lisa's mother extended her hands, abyssal energy pooling around her.

Lisa's Mother:

"Abyssal Devourer."

The three attacks collided.

Flames and darkness clashed, the shockwave obliterating everything around them. The very sky seemed to shake under the pressure of their magic. The battlefield was drowned in light and shadow, fire and abyss locked in a battle for dominance.

Lisa's mother gritted her teeth. For the first time, she looked… strained.

Lisa's Mother:

"This… is not enough."

But Duke wasn't finished.

He closed his eyes, channeling all of his remaining magic into one final attack. His flames turned white-hot, burning with a purity that defied the abyss itself.

Duke:

"Infernal Starfall."

The sky above ignited.

A massive meteor of pure fire descended, its light blinding. It was an attack meant to end everything.

Lisa's mother screamed as the abyss tried to consume it—

But this time, the flames burned brighter.

The abyss wavered.

And then—impact.

A deafening explosion.

The battlefield vanished in a sea of fire.

When the smoke cleared, Lisa's mother was on one knee. Her abyssal cloak was torn, the shadows around her flickering weakly.

She was injured.

Duke and Franklin stood side by side, breathing heavily. Their magic reserves were nearly depleted.

Lisa's Mother:

"You… you think this is over?"

Duke's eyes narrowed.

Duke:

"No. But you've lost the advantage."

Franklin cracked his knuckles.

Franklin:

"And you're not walking away from this one."

Lisa's mother glared at them, abyssal energy still swirling weakly around her.

And then—she smiled.

Lisa's Mother:

"You've only delayed the inevitable."

The shadows beneath her began to expand.

And from within the abyss—something else stirred.

Duke tensed.

Duke:

"She's calling for reinforcements."

Franklin:

"Then we end this now."

They raised their flames once more—

And the battle resumed.
