Bound by Blood

The night was still, but the weight of the journey ahead pressed down on the group like a heavy blanket. They had left the temple behind, venturing deeper into the heart of Veridia, but the farther they traveled, the more perilous their path became. The skies above seemed darker, the trees around them thicker, and an unsettling silence filled the air. John could feel it—the sense that they were being watched, hunted even.

Prince Tarek led them with an unshaken confidence, his eyes scanning the horizon as if anticipating danger at every turn. John, however, wasn’t so sure about their guide. He had never liked relying on others, and the idea that Tarek was their only protection in this strange, magical land left him uneasy. Worse still, Rebecca seemed to be growing closer to the prince with each passing day.
